Yes; lets nuke Iran before Biden takes the presidency then perhaps trump can remain in power.

If that is your argument, well no more words needed.

Did I say that anywhere? Geez, talk about an over reaction. I was talking about banning on twitter. Where the hell did you get banning from twitter to mean nuke Iran?

^^^This^^^ is what scares me.  The belief that people are no longer allowed to have their own opinions, their own thoughts and have to fall in line with one narrative, one ideology.   Newsflash,

When did have a political opinion become "hate speech"?

What exactly do you expect them to do?  As with most things that are against the ToS, they will act appropriately when and if it is brought to their attention.  They have given us, the residents, the

I think part of the problem is that so many equate fascism with Hitler and the right wing while in reality what Hitler was doing was working towards what he called true socialism. Much of what he was doing has more parallels in the alt left movement than in the right wing. The left like Hitler is working towards shutting down the voices of everyone but that of itself with the intent of becoming a one party democracy as no other party will be left with a platform to voice on.

Fascism as many understand it now, is an alt left movement.

Fascism can arise on the 'left' or the 'right', true -- both extremes are dangerous because they concentrate power in the hands of one person.   The POINT is that it is the 'right' attempting to circumvent Democracy NOW and rule by force rather than rule of law.

Hitler doesn't have anything to do with the Boogaloo Bois who want a race war as well as a second American Revolution to throw the Brits out of being involved with America.  Plus, there are several factions of the Boogaloo Bois, some do not want a race war for example but other sites will say that they are lying to entice others.  But, it's a mess and I have a life to lead and don't want to get into long debates here.

If it is true that the right is attempting to rule by force (am not admitting they are) then that shouldn't be surprising when the left has so clearly taken away the rights ability to voice through Twitter, Facebook, Google, Amazon and even Parler. The left wing propaganda machine is in full swing and controlling 90% of the media. From that perspective I agree that the election was rigged against Trump regardless of the actual votes.

You know, it's funny, I have no trouble at all finding right wing voices on social media. Whoever is in charge of silencing them is doing a terrible job.

As for "rigging" the election, being another point people keep bring up here:

If the election was rigged, I'm not sure. I, being a proud American citizen, hope to God that it wasn't rigged, because that'd mean our democracy has been compromised. But there are reasonable reasons to believe it might have been. Until then, I am going to sit in the "I don't know, no one will give me solid, unbiased, answers" camp.

A major problem here that has me not sitting in the "It wasn't rigged" camp is the following:

  • Censorship from big tech with bogus, non-ToS violating reasons.
  • Politicians who claim "It can't be hacked" despite previously claiming Russia hacked the election.
  • Reluctance, or outright resistance to investigate claims.
  • Various instances of vote watcher's being kicked out or forbidden to observe.
  • A actual dominion voting machine was proven to be hackable.

When a large portion of America thinks the election was rigged, the list above is bad if they want to calm people who believe it was rigged or otherwise hacked.

If they could carry on a bogus Russia meddling/hacking investigation for 4 years, they can bother to investigate for at least a month or two into whether or not there was fraud. I guarantee you at least investigating would help calm the situation down.

Again, I'm unsure if it was hacked or whatever, but it does have me a bit suspicious. I'd love to see them actually investigate it properly instead of going "Nah it didn't happen".

Regardless, I'll  reluctantly accept that Biden will president. But less so reluctantly if these concerns can be investigated and put to rest. No amount of riots will change that.

There are left people involved in that second American Revolution which is known by the phrase "the boogaloo".

All I can say is this in the hands of the authorities.  And, for those in the USA, it's best to shelter in for a little bit due to proposed uprisings planned across the United States.

Mussolini nationalised 75 percent of the italian economy over the years. The Nazis did not do the same in germany, while Hitler originally had much more pseudo-socialist approach than Mussolini.

As Luna said, fascism can move either way and also adapts to local circumstances in order to secure it´s power. Same on the other side, Stalin was not like Lenin, and Lenin was not like Gorbatchov. But they all were declared commmunists.

1. It was not hacked or whatever

2. They did investigate

3. 62 courts confrmed that it was not hacked or whatever

So what?

If the election was rigged,

If that is true, the entire US justice up to the Supreme Court, state governments, countless of local officials, and even more common people like you and me which counted the votes must be involved in a nationwide conspiracy vs Trump. Alone to organize such an enormous conspiracy is an impossible task. Isn't it much more likely that Trump just lost the election because he got less votes than Biden?

The right is not trying to circumvent democracy. The right believes that the left circumvented democracy by cheating in the election. I am not suggesting they are correct in this belief. I do think it is important to be aware of how they see things and what thier motivation is.

What, you want fascists to have free speech?

Yes, I want everyone to have free speech, because if only certain groups are allowed free speech, eventually that will come down to "only my group is allowed free speech".

I define 'free speech' as spouting your opinions on things, excluding a call to kill folks.

[Disclaimer]  I am not American.  I believe both sides are as corrupt as each other.

I've been trying to find a video on YouTube of a hearing concerning the counting of votes after Republican observers and most others were told to go as counting was 'stopped for the night'.  The counting continued until after 1 am.  It has been deleted from YouTube and from a private message to a friend on Facebook.  I find this a matter for concern.

This is surely the point. The rest of this thread is sort of weirdly off-topic.

If someone in SL is advocating outright hatred and violence, they deserve to be permabanned. And the odds are pretty good that if you report that to LL, they will be. We had a poster here a short while ago who expressed the wish that a few forum posters catch Covid-19 and die. Oddly enough, she's no longer posting here.

The notion that anyone who expresses a liking for the soon-to-be-ex-president of the USA should be banned is a non-starter: it's not happening on Facebook or on Twitter, and it's not going to happen here. Nor should it.

What do you think about recent events (last 1-2 years) where extreme-Right / fascists want to hold "rallies" at public colleges and universities? Don't you agree that the institution should have the ability to deny permission for such speech / rallies on their PUBLICLY funded campuses?

No, I don't agree that a PUBLICLY funded place can deny any group the ability to hold rallies and speak what they believe.

Private institutions can, but the government is restricted by the constitution and that trickles down to publicly funded places as well.

The phrase is "While I might hate what you have to say, I will defend your right to say it".

Apparently the courts disagree with you. If you are unsure, file a case at your local court, if you are so entitled, and add one more number to the row of thrown out, baseless claims.

Let’s see... in my tenure in SL I have seen satanic animal sacrifice, Catholic stations of the cross, two chibi furries having Slex on playground equipment, a snuffle dungeon with appliances, Mormon temples, vegan only meditation zones, alien tentacle rap, national socialist rp areas, hippie tie-dye trailer parks, and a resident (before zindra) who lived in a 15M Dindong house with requisite glowing particle fountain. SL has been a beacon of tolerance in a world hell-bent on stifling “other” people’s “wrong” views.

1. Why would I want this to change?

2. Who gets to decide what is hate?

3. Which cultural compass are we going to use to define “right thinking?”

In times like these I like to remember a axiom taught to me by a gifted political science teacher. “When you give power to an entity to make something “legal” you also give them the power to make it illegal.”  It’s worth thinking about. IMHO at least.
