I'm sitting in the car with my dog (he's slipping in the back seat) and looking to the sea.  It's 4.30 in the afternoon but the sun already set here and the colours are grey, lead, light blue (several hues).

I'm surfing through my laptop, I have infinity battery autonomy as I charge through the car battery even when the engine is off, without any loss of the car battery nor of fuel.

My dog is happy (when he's so he sleeps in the car, if not he's anxious, who is coming, who is a threat, I must be alert). I ate a pizza and a sandwich, I drunk a milk and a smoothie and the dog ate at home before we left, brekkies beef taste.  He has water here.  I took him for a walk twice also, today.

i've been to/featured on a national radio station and wound up hanging out with someone now mega famous before they were mega famous and only had their first proper single out. when they were a guest of their then more famous friend whose since disappeared off the face of being a celebrity. I was invited as their 'fan' to be part of something they were doing all because another famous person reneged on a promise they made me. The person i was invited to meet turned out to be not that great in the flesh and my liking for them quickly waned

What else about me rather than just a Mom whom I found out when I was older loved dirty jokes.  Although she told other jokes too of course.

Hmmmmmmmm....I guess...

I love cats.

I'm rather "square".  I'm kind of like the before Sandy in the movie or play Grease...very square.  I'm not the after Sandy at the end of the movie.

When I was little, I used to hang out with big country stars at music festivals and concerts-half the time by going places I wasn't supposed to go(being little has its advantages). My parents went to them, and we'd spend a week or weekend camping at one particular place (now closed) where a LOT of music stars performed. Sometimes my parents took me out of school for it, lol. I got to know people like Willie Nelson, Charlie Daniels, The Oak Ridge Boys, David Allen Coe, Reba, Merle Haggard(who I actually saw again more recently at Riot Fest), Conway, Waylon, Hank Williams...all kinds, really, it would take days to go through them, lmao.  Country wasn't even my fav genre, but I LOVED these festivals, so many people, so very exciting and there weren't typically many kids at them.

Willie Nelson picked me up one day when I was running around like a barefoot lil fool (different times folks, different times, lol), asked me where my shoes were, sent someone off to go find me shoes and then I sat and listened to him and a few other singers jam for a while. He sent me on my way after that and told me to stop running around barefoot, not stop running around...just stop doing it barefoot. I have a signed bandana of his, and  a lot of other memorabilia from that era too. Some of it's worth a pretty penny, but the sentimental value is far greater.

I got to play with the globetrotters once...and if you're from Ohio, or maybe even if you're not, you might be familiar with Big Chuck and Lil John-I played with them too, and even got on tv for it.

I got a signed picture with Fred Rogers too. He was visiting Idlewild, in PA. It's a theme park and they have Mr Rogers neighborhood of make believe. No one believed me that it was really him, so I made my mom take a polaroid and he signed it (but she still won't give it to me).

I lived a weird, wonderful, and pretty exciting life as a kid...it made up for being the really weird kid in school that always got made fun of for pretty much everything. :D

Like many of you, I love books.  However, much as I love "real" books, I've embraced the electronic variety.  I can carry thousands of books in my hand!  I can read a thousand page book in bed, with the lights off, without straining my wrists!  I can change the size of the type to accommodate my aging eyes.

All hail the mighty Kindle.

Yes, and not only Kindle, but the Kindle app on my phone. Who needs a separate device when just one does everything? I read more books on my phone now than in any other format. And it fits comfortably in my pocket.

I used to be an avid horseback rider. I only fell once, because I was lazy to fasten the girth properly and the saddle slid right off mid-canter. The horse stopped and looked at me on the ground with an expression that clearly said "you idiot". 🤠

- I love cats. My current feline companion is from a shelter. She's obsessively in love with me, judging by the fact that I cannot walk anywhere without her following me. She also, quite literaly, sleeps in my arms at night. She hates other people, though.

- Much like Beth, I once had a gun pointed at my head. By my back then best friend who -surprise, surprise, tuned out a huuuuuge backstabber.

- I draw pictures. Not as much anymore, I did most of my drawing in school, to combat the boredome. Many teachers allowed me to do so, because I still kept track of the class, but when I wasn't allowed to draw I'd just look out of the window and zone out completely.

- I read mostly Stephen King and Harry Potter. Multiple times, because why not.

- I quit smoking this spring after 20 years of smoking from one day to the other (I'm 33, started very young.) I was at 30-40 cigarettes a day.

-once a month, I'll drive 10h by train from near Cologne to Munich to see my boyfriend for a few days. I'll never take anything to read or do with me, yet I didn't die of boredom so far. Sometimes I wont even listen to music. I'm just alone with my thoughts and I like it.

- I have an iron will!

* 39 year old Canadian paraplegic who considers himself uniquely abled, not disabled.

* A firm believer in God.

* A country boy at heart. I appreciate most any music, however. Everything from The Chief Eric Church to The G.O.A.T Michael Jackson.

* More old school than my age suggests I have any right to be. My most prized possession in my music collection is Michael Jackson's album Thriller, purchased just last year on vinyl. Trade ya my digital collection for your vinyl one (provided I like your musical tastes, heh).

* A lover of people and a hater of nobody, to a fault if you want to think there is such a thing. It might leave me vulnerable, but I prefer vulnerability over anger.

This song pretty much sums me up

I'm revisiting this thread after a break. Books are a big thing here.

Drum roll.....I'm a published author. One book published Feb 2018. I wrote a chapter in an earlier book on my specialist subject. I do a monthly magazine feature which has been going on for nine years. Before that I did freelance magazine articles. That's enough RL stuff for now. Wine loosens my tongue.

Oh and I have a publishing  deadline to meet tomorrow....😜

Good luck with the deadline. Writing is a great challenge and it leaves you with a glow of satisfaction when you can hold the finished work in your hands.  Deadlines, however, threaten to suck all the joy out of writing.  Well, deadlines and -- if you're writing books -- all the fiddly business of the end material (foreword, table of contents, index, glossary, end notes) and the dreadful business of getting a signed release for every illustration you use. Oh, and creating chapter-end problem sets and thought questions, if you're writing textbooks. I used to slog through all of that part, relying on pure momentum to make it to the end. I envy a couple of my friends who have written novels, which don't have any of that anticlimactic material.  They just say "The End" and live happily ever after.

Yes to all of that @Rolig Loon . I don't think non-writers appreciate the complexity of the process, and that there's a contract to deliver a defined number of words, and in some cases, illustrations by a deadline. Starting with an idea and a blank computer screen, with a deadline is very focusing. Thankfully I didn't have SL as a distraction then. I was fortunate that I had a library of images taken over the previous eight years or so which were my own, but plugging the gaps was as you said, time consuming to get signed permissions. Then a few of my images didn't meet quality standards and had to be retaken, which for some was a big effort. And a few had to be photoshopped to eliminate "clutter".

Eventually I had my chapter template and outlines and away I went. The foreword had dozens of rewrites, and creating the index was painstaking.

And the publisher was very prescriptive on style, tone and layout. But after dozens of read throughs I made it and met the deadline! It's a factual book. Not sure about writing a novel, although my life story has enough drama to make a good novel. :)

Drama? Dispite of the fact that the word "drama" comes from the old Greek word for "acting", I more like to call it "experience"!

(Ps. Well done Belinda for making your deadline 🖒)
