  1. Barnesworth Anubis has some great houses. Different styles, sizes and reasonably priced.
  2. I wrote a few things for my 1st life profile; they've been there pretty much since I started - just the answers to the most common questions. The picture is in response to some jerk who insisted I was ashamed of my real-life self, since I didn't have a pic there. It's a school picture of a little girl with her finger up her nose. I have no idea who it really is, but I find it amusing, so it stays.
  3. I hope this is the correct place to ask this. I did search for an answer and couldn't find anything recent. Is there a way to save photos I take in Second Life to Google Drive, other than sending them as an email attachment? I am using Firestorm. I don't see any way of doing it in the viewer. Thank you for any help.
  4. I have to agree. I have the LAQ kitchen, and no matter how many other ones I buy, I always return to that one. It's copiable, so you can have as many cabinets/counters you want, it's texture-changing... I also love the bedroom set for the same reason, and it's also one of the only sets I've seen that allow you to lie underneath the covers. I'd love if they'd get back to doing furniture/decor.
  5. One of my RL best friends told me about SL in 2010. She was into medieval/fantasy roleplay and she made it sound like so much fun. I made an account in May of that year, started roleplaying at the same sim as my friend, and had a blast until January of 2012 when my RL marriage fell apart. I took a break for a little over a year, and when I came back, nearly all the people and sims were gone. Try as I might, I could not make my avatar modern in any way, she was thoroughly medieval, so I retired her and created Charlotte/Charlie. My friend left SL sometime in 2011, and now there is no one in SL that I know in RL. Neither of my kids has any interest in it, my now-ex husband only said when I first mentioned joining SL, "Isn't that that sex dungeon place?"
  6. "Well, Art is Art, isn't it? Still, on the other hand, water is water. And east is east and west is west and if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. Now you tell me what you know." Groucho Marx
  7. My two three current pet peeves combine to make one giant peeve of miserable proportions. House w/o central air conditioning + heat wave + hot flashes = one giant PITA. Never thought I'd say this but I can't wait for the end of summer.
  8. I've done the Myers-Briggs test a few times over the years, and I've always been INTP.
  9. My First Life profile states all the real world info I'm willing to share with complete strangers. When I get the inevitable IM with requests for that info, I refer them to the profile. Normally, I hear nothing from them afterwards. There was a guy a few years ago who "requested" a RL photo before he'd move beyond small talk. He said he asked everyone this (all women though, no doubt) to make sure they were attractive enough to bother with (his words) and since he supposedly had his RL photo up, it wasn't an unreasonable request. I told him I only shared that with people I knew well, and a 5 minute conversation didn't cut it. He asked me several times a day for close to a week before I finally got fed up and told him the more he asked, the less likely it would happen. He seemed shocked that I wasn't anxious to have his approval. He got pissed that I wouldn't cave in, and that was that. Why did I put up with his **** for a week? Vaguely amusing/interesting conversation, and I was bored. Bad combination. Only give what RL information you're comfortable having strangers know.
  10. Ohmygod...there is no reaction button for this. Another major reason I hate voice.
  11. Pet peeve: Listening to people eat. The sound of chewing is like fingernails on a chalkboard.
  12. The staples come out tomorrow! No more Frankentorso!
  13. Yes, I've been using a pillow, as the incision is down the centre, almost from breastbone to pubic bone, with a little jog around the belly button. It still hurts like hell, as does sneezing (allergies), and laughing. And standing. And sitting. And lying down. Well, coughing, sneezing, and laughing hurt like hell. Standing, sitting, and lying down are just bloody uncomfortable.
  14. That is a very boop-able nose. I've got 3 to choose from here. One lets me do it, but asks for pats in payment, one looks offended, but tolerates it, and the other will take my hand off at the wrist if I try more than once
  15. I'm grateful to be home. Maybe not so grateful for the soreness, the staples pulling on my skin, and it taking 10 minutes to just roll over in bed, but I AM grateful I am home to do, and feel those things. ETA: coughing is a *****. Excruciating. Not the least bit grateful for that mofo.
  16. My passion is landscape photography (and abstract), so I was very excited to discover this thread! This is one of a large set I took at a sim called The Last Forever. Sadly, it's no longer.
  17. Cabbage does not agree with me at all, which is unfortunate. I don't mind coleslaw, and on occasion, cabbage rolls. My former in-laws made very tasty coleslaw, cabbage rolls, and my former FIL made an absolutely mouth-watering sauerkraut soup. Sounds awful, but served with warm pumpernickel bread. . . *drool*
