The Linden Homes Photo Thread

Now that we have our houseboat, we got serious about how we wanted it to look. Yeah, we did a quick set up and I told Cian, I wanted to try for inspiration I found a few years ago, upon seeing J.K. Rowlings former yacht.  So here are some photos of our houseboat. Hope you all enjoy as much as we did putting it together.

Basic decorating of my camper. I took an old skybox build I had from when I was running a political discussion group, and just rezzed part of it in here and moved things around. Thus for now at least... too many chairs, a whole lotta ganja, and not much else. :P

The EV is like the one I have in RL, same color too. Different plates though. :P

It's set to public access and should delete itself once a driver gets out, and there's a thing in the ground to replace it if it gets too far from the spot it's parked at. ;)
- that's a feature Musk has yet to add to my RL car... :P

Need to check the TOS on these, I think I could use this spot if I ever revived that discussion group as long as I didn't want to put the location itself into search... Because it's perfect for the purpose and I see there's even an events group for Bellisseria so people are hosting things in their homes here.

Picknick at my new home - region:

If you want to visit the lighthouse (and do not have a warable rowboat) you better TP

image.thumb.jpeg.a22533d9d9b69d35af377ca63b7bec1d.jpeg

There you can sit and watch the coastline

image.thumb.jpeg.e9d55f952523ea519d6a752d8a1e9254.jpeg

You can walk up MANY stairs - or TP (I didn't manage that) or fly (tricky but I managed) and enjoy the view.

Red lines mean that Pegleg Channel is yet to be released. There should be free Pickles but I could not find them

@Dyna Mole who is in charge of these pickles? And once you are at it how about some free Icecream? ;)

I actually abandoned that one shortly after posting that - but then a day later my alt got... the exact same plot back... But I have yet to set it up again, because I got a houseboat, and I really lack any good reason to keep both...

Should be able to post images for the boat lot soon, been decorating and redecorating it for days. :P

(a house boat on a residential water sim with no prim islands, for sale signs, banlines, or airports - something I've wanted in SL since 2009... never could get until now.)

How lovely that you were able to get the spot you've been dreaming of for so long - I look forward to seeing the pics when you have decorated.

Did you mean ME or Pussycat? ...  The inside of my house will look very much like my old one ...

Or maybe not? I just bought meshwalls and painted each room in another colour ... but I will take my time with the inside.

First I explored the new neighbourhood ... beach and so on ... and found it very satisfying. :)

I think we still have a case of jalepeno caramel ice cream in the back room, but I haven't seen just plain pickle ice cream for a while. I will have to ask our supplier.  Free pickles are a different department, though.  Maybe @Abnor Mole knows where they are.

Of course, not all local outlets carry the same stock. Have you tried a different location?

Well contrary to what @LittleMe Jewell suspects I am not so desperate to get a free pickle that I would TP all around Belli to search for them ... let alone plain pickle icecream *shuddersatthemerethought*

I just felt that when there is a poster announcing free pickles there should be a glas of them to help yourself to one ... and so I asked for it as I am a proud new Blackwater Shoals citizen and feel we should never be underprivileged!

.... as for the ice cream how about strawberry? or chocolate? or vanilla?

... people who like pickle ice cream can put some vanilla on their pickle  ;)

I like Belli so much because of this. ❤️

Airports, we do have one....

I don't have a boat now, because the houses keep me busy. And why keep something I don't have time for? If I want a boat again, something wil show up. Things usually do.

All I need now to live in a perfect SL is a higher LI limit. Hoping the new Premium will have some goodies including more LI. Oh, and waiting, so exited for new styles of homes. They just keep getting better. Life is interesting.

I love it when life hands me little surprises.  They make me smile.  For example, I was hanging around under the deck in Decker yesterday, as one does, when I heard a faint bubbly sound and turned around to see ...

1625701461_Mermaid10-12-2019_1.png.90a7a43f0075f9d63df571e747ec3529.png

one of those cute green fish that we were talking about just last week.  It did make me smile.  It also made me start thinking ....  I wonder what other surprises I might find if I start exploring from here? It was a nice day, so I started swimming north.

1413108197_Mermaid10-12-2019_2.png.68b13f47f0ad007390b4ea736e997166.png

I hadn't gone far, though, when I found that the stream was blocked.

1041087395_Mermaid10-12-2019_3.png.5c40e31c0ffd1988c562a85f8c48d35c.png

I could feel a strong current, but the rocks made it hard to go farther unless .....

1499737667_Mermaid10-12-2019_5.png.31fca021571a0a14935b57d61ff48053.png

... I found a narrow passage and shot through, into a very fast-moving stream with very hard rocks.

650734165_Mermaid10-12-2019_6.png.92e9084bd40a81443b0b0d1f2ac1300e.png

... and a nasty final drop into Lake Tatakaka (who dreams up these names, BTW?).  That was not the surprise I was hoping for. I'm tougher than I look, but I spent a while counting bruises and dealing with a bloody finger.

89433574_Mermaid10-12-2019_7.png.a26d259e02f6df4e21665d9927c3659a.png

Lake Tatakaka is pretty -- not very deep, but with a grassy bottom and a gentle shoreline. Landowners have a flair for decoration. It was tempting to stay there longer to recuperate, but I could feel the current pulling me further north, so I swam on.

586646002_Mermaid10-12-2019_8.png.a9985979d7c84ce60bfc4d679970aea4.png

Streams to the north are narrow in places, often lined with rocks.  There are light bridges at some of the narrowest spots in Stillhouse and Red Bluff, and there are little tributary streams  -- fun to explore, but .... well, maybe another time.

1405267249_Mermaid10-12-2019_11.png.3464754ce8470c210bb82e386a1ae051.png

Through Purtis and finally into Arvee, the stream becomes wider and bridges are larger.  The water is a bit chilly, but clear and clean. And then ....

2132215369_Mermaid10-12-2019_10.png.ae6387aefea293b820701986cbf8ff0f.png

... another rock barrier. No way am I going to look for a hole around this one.  Enough is enough. I've hit my surprise limit.  Adventures farther north can wait.

The weather in October swings from brisk and windy to beautifully mild.  Today was surprisingly hot -- a perfect day for a ride in the hills -- so my horse and I set out to explore more of the land in southern Belliseria. It's an area of lakes and low, forested hills, dotted here and there with colorful camping trailers.  I decided to start from the north shore of Lake Tatakaka, the largest of the lakes in this part of the world.

1831808347_RedBluff10-14-2019_1.png.ce0d6b3b000137618130f4c5a5dd43ec.png

At first, we kept to the dirt roads, wandering roughly northwest without a specific destination in mind.  We passed the train Station in Stillhouse, not far from the lake.

1169816287_RedBluff10-14-2019_2.png.ffb62fb17b249e5cfd0a40219347f101.png

My horse really doesn't like trains much, so we moved along before one could pass by.

547390094_RedBluff10-14-2019_3.png.e44683c991152f899580eb7ceb511337.png

I'm not quite sure how we got to Somerville, but we spent quite a while roaming through the hills and listening to birds. That's one of the pleasures of the Bellisseria back country.  My horse is especially fond of warblers.

1306181705_RedBluff10-14-2019_4.png.c5ea762d30baa01d9e36ea084dee3c39.png

He also loves flowers, so we had to stop and smell them every once in a while.

1318720374_RedBluff10-14-2019_5.png.babd61d927474b3a34a24b5131d8f27e.png

It's hard to go far in Bellisseria without seeing water, so we found ourselves stopping to admire every little pond and stream.

As the sun rose higher, that water looked more and more inviting. I made sure that my horse had a chance to drink and to wade in the shallow water when we could.

699972271_RedBluff10-14-2019_6.png.483716862042578203bd07fc5951011e.png

Residents are getting into the holiday spirit with a vengeance.  We had to stop and admire this one incredible display of Halloween pumpkins in Red Bluff.  What a piece of creation!

338788356_RedBluff10-14-2019_7.png.cea84fedb85426ee14107019d1d35264.png

It truly was getting hot. This pool at the base of a cascade is obviously a favorite swimming hole, and I was really tempted to dive in. Unfortunately, though, there are trailers right nearby, and it didn't seem right to enjoy someone else's local spot. It didn't seem like a good idea to tether the horse there either. We headed uphill, looking for quieter water.

1018382751_RedBluff10-14-2019_8.png.0659ae08c023563e0de0bd0a21ff1d1c.png

Why uphill?  Well, that stream was large enough that I figured that it probably drained some larger body of water in the hills.  Besides which, there were fewer trailers up there.

1076191766_RedBluff10-14-2019_9.png.b0f6205dff7865f9361cdae47685e057.png

And I was right!  There's a beautiful, clear lake near the summit of the hills in Red Bluff, nestled among the rocks and bushes, well out of sight. It was just what I was hoping for, the perfect place to get out of the sun and cool off.  My horse seemed glad for a chance to rest too, after making that last climb, so I dismounted and let him enjoy a peaceful grassy area.

237978187_RedBluff10-14-2019_10.png.f913f42046939d1e9578e5714fd3da30.png

And me? I spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying the autumn mountain air and some of the most refreshing water I have swum in for quite some time. What a rewarding day!

http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Cape Lively/245/29/23  VISITE!!!

I made a modest tribute to the excellent Halloween theme creators, an exhibition with some photographs of the most beautiful melancholy landscapes in SL, the house is open as a "pop-up gallery" open for visitation until November 3rd.
You can enjoy the upstairs bar, I built using individually purchased pieces, the way I like to combine: with freedom to see results. I also redid the Underwater Garden, and when you leave home take a Jet Sky for a ride on the Belisseria Sea.

Nice idea, and love the build and images. Your underwater garden is very serene.
