  1. The Forum is a public space, everyone is free to comment as they see fit, no "Invasion" has taken place. If you are going to group people in the way you did, please stand by it, don't delete it then accuse me of ill-intent. I was actually quite interested in the concept until I realized I would not be welcome, and that is why I commented on the thread.
  2. @Pussycat Catnap I hate Black and Red people? Please, tell me more about myself.....
  3. That is the laziest political cartoon I have ever read X-D could be applied to ANY party philosophy bahahah. Im actually convinced whoever drew this never actually met and spoke with a Libertarian, and instead opted to be educated by facebook threads..... Anyway, cool looking group, but does anyone know of a group like this that allows all sorts of thought? I'd much rather participate in a conversation with all sides of the spectrum than close out a few things I disagree with.
  4. Not a problem, @Talligurl do it up !! I'm not going anywhere if you need me hehe
  5. *Takes a moment to think* There, thought achieved
  6. @Talligurl , I typically charge between 800-2000 L$ for marketplace work. This changes depending on how much work you need done, if you already have a Logo or imagery it will be cheaper obviously!
  7. Stoked about this! New user retention is simply atrocious, if LL is not going to directly make onboarding more intuitive and user-friendly it's a smart move to have residents take the reins.
  8. Do you need some Graphic Design done? Of course you do! Whether you are opening a Shop, a store on Marketplace, a new project Inworld or anything else, having cutting-edge graphics and branding can help make you stand out from the crowd! Here are some examples of what I can do for you... Brand or Store Logo Signage Complete Marketplace Store Branding Custom Textures Promotional/Advertising Graphics I provide professional Design services at the best prices I can offer. I do cut my prices SIGNIFICANTLY from what I charge IRL work, partially because I have such a passion for Second Life and seeing people pursue interesting and exciting projects. Anything I can do to help the culture of our weird little world is worth it for me, so my fees are roughly 90% LOWER than what I charge for RL projects. If you're interested or want to chat further, get quotes etc, reply to this thread or send me a IM/Notecard inworld Here are some examples of my work.
  9. @Adeindra , Just as Pam and Billi mentioned, you can really be anything you want, any race or species. I do think you need to be smart about how you do it. Like how you mention your concern over "Blackface"; any kind of caricature stereotyping people might be problematic? Honestly you will run into many more problems based around your BEHAVIOR than your appearance. If you are Role-Playing, lets say, an Urban Black Woman and you yourself are a Rural White Man, you just might rub people the wrong way, even if your intentions are good. Cultural appropriation and fashion is a whole other topic, but honestly we are just splitting hairs. As was already mentioned, no one can know exactly what you are in real life, so go ahed and be whatever you want to be!!!
  10. I am in a constant state of exploration!! lets team-up !!!
  11. Can't forget about Breedables and in-world Game systems. I know people who have spent/lost incredible amounts of money whether it was with "Skilled Gaming", assorted breedable markets, or any game systems built inworld that require spending money to play (pyramid schemes, bloodlines, life, etc.). I think these groups might even spend MORE than clothing/home shoppers, but I suppose it all can become an addiction
  12. Sorry, but I will straight up LEAVE a club if the DJ is over-active with their voice, its obnoxious to me personally. Plenty of DJ's I regularly check out do NOT use voice, but utilize interesting mixing and/or scratching in their sets. Plenty of "use" for a club where folks aren't just looking for top 40's and/or voice shoutouts for their tips Also @Monti Messmer I believe you are misinformed about the licensing that needs to be done to DJ in Second Life. There is documented correspondence between a resident and Sony/BMI stating "The licensing obligation falls on the website from which music is made available. Therefore, if the music is appearing somewhere other than your own website, you are not responsible for securing a Public Performance license for that use." Even if you were DJ'ing in real life, unless you are gigging places besides typical concert halls, the VENUE obtains the license. If you were say, a Wedding DJ, you would need to acquire a license yourself because there is no venue you are working under.
  13. Hello, @gensaku If you have found information from as recent as 2014, most or all the information will still be relevant, not much has changed since then in terms of DJing. You should think about how serious you are about DJing in Second Life. With very little investment and time, you can get a basic setup working that will allow you to broadcast to a small amount of people. For beginners, this is perfect, because chances are you will NOT score an incredible DJ job right away. There are plenty of clubs of every genre that are constantly hiring DJ's, and some of the most important things are consistency with shifts and the quality of the music you play. If you really want to get serious, you need to start thinking about more details. The more popular clubs on the grid will have higher expectations for their DJ's. Some REQUIRE that DJ's use voice to interact with the crowd during their set. Some clubs are very picky about the style of music you play, or even how you play it, with more elite clubs looking for DJ's to do "Live-Mixing" as opposed to running tracks off a playlist. All-in-all, you can get yourself going with some streaming software and a cheap shoutcast/icecast server. This will allow you to get your foot in the door at some clubs, then maybe once you have lost your Doubts you can invest more time and money into your new DJ career Good luck!!
  14. Welcome back @Naiman Broome !! @seanabrady is right in that the new Bento skeleton is one of the biggest changes recently. New Horizons Project also opened its doors; a new region/mini-continent with a loose sci-fi theme located north of Zindra. Also, have not really found them too useful or practical, but LL introduced new "PLACES" pages program in which you can generate and customize small webpages for each of your owned parcels. Kind-of a neat new feature, but I have not found the whole system that useful yet....
  15. @Kokonattsu Love me some Shenmue! However, if my memory serves me right, the Kowloon sim is based on a old game called "Kowloon's Gate" for the Playstation One, a game that unfortunately never made it overseas. I can imagine the Kowloon Sim Creators took inspiration from things like Shenmue too
  16. TYVM @Talligurl I will make the change in the Library tonight! In other news, the Library is now on Facebook! After receiving several suggestions to create a page I set one up. All the group updates will be published to the feed in case you have no room for new groups, etc. You can also use the page to post your own recommendations or images, either posting directly to the wall or sending a private message will work. If you're on facebook one way or-another, head over to the page and give it a "like"! LIBRARY OF LANDMARKS FACEBOOK
  17. @Talligurl o0o I gotchya! Yes please do send a new Landmark my way sometime so I can update the listing @mQQnie Waaahooo!! Happy rezz day!! *cheers madly* I hope the Library can help you find some cool places!

  20. I guess a proper introduction is in order... Hullo Peoples! I am Saul Goodie. In the real-world I am a full-time Graphic Designer and Abstract Artist. I use a combination of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Photography and various other tools to create my work lately, having moved away from physical mediums into the digital world! I currently display my artwork InWorld at several locations; Kultivate/Windlight sim has a permanent "Art by Saul" gallery where you can view and purchase a small collection of my works. I also operate Wanderlust Bench Art Park with some other Residents, and I often display my work there as well. I have also recently launched my own Fashion line, STYYLL, in which all my products feature my original graphic designs! All my work is created IRL, for IRL, however over the past year I have been creating more and more projects specifically for Virtual Worlds. I am in the early stages of planning a larger-scale project, hopefully with the help of LEA, which will combine my artistic and musical creations into one big oddity!! In other news, I am also constantly looking for new artists and galleries to wet my appetite for content, so please send me all your recommendations and landmarks Here are some links to my things.... 21. Merh, after a few stubborn years I finally got a full mesh setup....
  22. You make a great point @iimi , gambling in SL presents the same risks and rewards as it does IRL, so it's quite possible for residents to get addicted. How you mention SL does not categorize "Skill Gaming" as "Gambling" might be the biggest problem, because it helps people distance themselves from that mindset. I personally have not dealt with this topic much in-world, I casually hit no-devil on the cheap occasionally myself, but seeing how many residents are active in Skill Gaming regions leads me to believe you are dead-on in assuming there are other Residents who need information and help. I'd actually encourage you to create a inworld Group to tackle this problem further. Providing something so simple as a group for folks to chat in about the difficulties they are going through could be quite a positive tool, a free one at that.
