About Me

Member Title

  1. In these rather gloomy January days, it can be a little difficult to find the pockets of joy, but still there must be moments that truly make each and every one of us smile. What has prompted me to start this thread is an item on UK daytime TV programme, This Morning, but I believe has made the news worldwide. The residents of a nursing home have put together a calendar of residents recreating famous paintings. I think it is very uplifting to see. The old lovelies must have had a lot of fun. (I've checked the link below is secure, and contains some of the pictures.) I think these two pictures are my favourites.
  2. Sometimes a picture tells more then words. So why not telling stories with pictures? Do you have a picture that tells a story, known or unknown, you can post it here. Maybe some text to add the picture to give a hint what this story is about (a title). You can post a picture of a already excisting story (or fairytail) or make one of you own... In will give a example of a well known story..... Everyone will know this story.... Cinderella time.
  3. I do custom art at a reasonable price! I can provide PDF files through E-Mail so you get the best quality of your piece. I can do business logos, avatars, pets, etc. I am able to do more than one person per drawing, it'll just cost more. I do anywhere from lewd to completely covered up. My "processing" times always depend on your piece and my at home life as well, but it is typically around 4 days to a week. The more complicated the piece, the longer it will take, keep that in mind please. Below are some of my best pieces of avatars and such. Message me in-world to discuss prices and what you'd like done! In World name: Softiie https://flic.kr/s/aHsmXdzXFP

  7. I'd like to know if it is possible to add my gallery to the destination guide or to the events... the gallery is in skybox about 2500 mt (44x54x21) I pay a rent - I might become a friend of the owner and I am in the owner group that give me access to the whole area I do not sell anything is inside a kink sex area (but the gallery it is not sexi at all) the event will go for 4 days every month or one afternoon every month but the gallery will be open 7/7 24/24 the owner of the land agree with this initiative but is not willing to do all the employee work. I read all the guides and it is not clear... could he add my gallery to the destination guide in the art list? separate from his sex hotel? the lm is as follow: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Isle de Amor/181/184/2410 the name is RECALCITRANTE GALLERY I'd like to found out any way to spread the info to all inworld :-)
  8. Hello everyone! Just a short introduction, my name is Parsley (d'oh) and I'm a relatively new resident to Second Life! Since I'm so new, I've been looking for jobs in order to pay for my SL expenses but none of them appeal to me so far... That's why I though, perhaps I could offer up my "talents" in exchange for some Linden cash. 😁 Sooo... Is anyone here interested in receiving a digitally drawn portrait of their SL avatar? I will do a digitally drawing of your SL avatar for only 3.200L$ (equivalent of 10 bucks). Right now I'm just trying to build my portfolio, hence the low pricing.🙂 For now I offer up my services for ~free~! Let me know in the comments below if you're interested, or hit me up with a DM inworld! All my digital portraits come in the sizes of 1080 by 1080 px. This is a nice decent size for you to use across all social media platforms. Of course alternate sizes can be negotiated as well. Keep in mind that these portraits are digitally *drawn*, not painted. I might fully render them if I feel like it on a given day, but most likely I will keep it to cell-shaded line art portraits. Also, the time I will be spending on your portrait is completely up to me. Since I'm asking for such a low price, I think it's fair enough that I work on it at my own pace. I will try my best to finish it up "on time", but I want to ensure that they are of the best quality possible. All I ask of you is to send a front, en profile, *back and 1/3 side picture (*are optional but preferred) of your desired avatar. Make sure that it is of high enough quality for me to see the details. Let me know of any specifics you want to be highlighted. It would also be nice if you added a short character description of your avatar so I can have a better "feel" of your avatar's personality. Please leave a message down below or DM me either inworld or here if you want to make a commission. There's no need for you to pay me upfront. If you are not pleased with the end result then of course you will not need to pay, as this is just a fun way for me to fill up my portfolio in the main time. Of course you will still be giving me consent to display it in my personal gallery. If you have any further questions feel free to contact me in SL (Parsleyyy) or respond to this Thread. I'd also appreciate any advice or suggestions on how to market myself better, since I'm new to this too, heh. 😬 I may or may not keep you updated on the progress, but I've found that this kind of workflow never works for me. Just be patient and expect the unexpected, hehe. I promise you will not be disappointed!😉 Now show me your best avatar~
  9. Join us at Twisted Gallery on August 28th, 6PM SLT for a Live Performance by the singer Aufwie as the gorgeous digital fractal art of Herman Kondor surrounds us!

  11. Hi Everyone! The August Issue of FOCUS Magazine is here and mostly on time! You can read it here https://focusgallerysl.photo.blog/focus-magazine/ Our featured artist for August is Catherine Nikolaidis. She shares her steamy style with us, and discusses her inspiration and her message to her female fans. Our second feature is another special article by Hermes Kondor. He met with Lord Kaya Angel, Duke of Angel Manor and creator of the infamous Rose Theatre — an architectural work of art. Enjoy! Angela ♥
  12. Finally! The newest member of the SL Art community would like to introduce itself! 🙂 The "ARTIFAKT Gallery" for modern Art represents aspiring, young artists and their way of merging SL and RL through emotional art. What makes us a unique gallery, is the fact that our work is sold as "Lifetime Originals". We guarantee that any piece purchased from us is a "single edition". It will never be copied and/or sold anywhere ever again. You will own the only copy of the piece in SL! The Gallery was founded in 2021 by Artist Niko De Clerck and Bluestone Capital CEO Michael Blackwood as investor. What started as a small project to help De Clerck promote his beautiful and unique art, soon turned into a full gallery, open to other new artists, as well. We are launching today with two beautiful series of works by RL Artist Niko De Clerck. Experience De Clerck's tactile series "Fraction" or the wonderfully merged SL/RL series "Impressions" now! And if you can't keep your eyes off of a piece - just take it right home with you! 🙂 Group: ARTIFAKT Gallery SLUrl: Yasmin/82/92/305
  13. Can art be related to its physical world or can be implemented in a virtual world with the same effects in our minds and souls?
  14. I am a high quality freelance character designer and portrait illustrator that has been drawing digitally for 10 years. My specialty is in drawing masculine humanoids and creepy/edgy/goth designs. I can draw realistically, but my normal style tends to lean on the anime side. I enjoy painting, as well as intricate line work. I have years of experience with Photoshop and limited experience with ZBrush and Blender. I'm not really a graphic designer (that's very Boring to me), but I am capable of doing simple ads, logos, and photo touchups. When it comes to teaching, I can offer short classes on various art process topics, mostly helpful tips and tricks that I've learned from my years of experience and not from classes or books. I cannot do voice chat but I can stream through Youtube and type in chat. I don't work for just tips, and I don't work without pay. If you intend on selling art I make for you in world (in the form of a tattoo or applier or something) there will be upfront costs for design as well as a commission. Proper crediting for my work is always required. My prices always depend on the job being offered to me. I will accept L$ or USD and payment is always up front or half first, half later. I will never trace someone else's work, nor will I heavily reference it. If I make textures out of photos, they will be from my own photos or from royalty free no attribution needed websites. I've attached a very small selection of recent work, some of which is related to SL. The art pictured is completely hand drawn from scratch, including my watermarks and logos. Please contact me in world at receptions Resident for more info, examples, and for any questions you have.
  15. This week we are transported to the surreal landscape of Alpha Tribe Tomorrow. Creator Alpha Auer made Tomorrow a very large and immersive exhibit with a premise that is open to interpretation. If you think the attention to detail looks like that of an experienced professional, you are correct! Alpha is known as Elif Ayiter IRL and works as a designer and educator in Turkey. She has co-authored the LPDT2/3 series of {region} wide installations based on Roy Ascott's concept of distributed authorship and La Plissure du Texte. These works were featured in international art exhibitions such as ISEA2011 and the 2010 multimedia festival at Incheon, Korea’s Tomorrow City. The Tomorrow installation at Alpha Tribe has a surreal environment, with a unifying theme that Alpha describes as “an entropic world in which nothing is expected to ever change.” This appears to defy time, which is also a prominent element here: Alpha tells us “The landing point is 'Yesterday,' where all sorts of people are frolicking in an old garden. As for the narrow valley ahead of you, that is 'Today,' where the two hapless boys have just found a mysterious smartphone…” Tomorrow is a mesmerizing blend of grey dystopia and childlike whimsy. The static characters include literal fat cats, humanoid sculptures, pigs, and even what Alpha describes as “The trickster god Kokopelli and his merry tribesmen... embodying the essence of 'Tomorrow’: blind belief. The notion of surveillance society is implied by watchtowers and drones, with Alpha saying “The {region} is an allegory. I am actually telling a pretty serious story, but I wanted to tell it in a humorous way, not get all miserable and dark about it.” The cartoonish tone is on purpose. Alpha says there is “a retro element to the figures, which is quite intentional since I love that mid-20th century period in design.” For those curious about Alpha’s technique, she says “I made the mesh in Zbrush Core, and then took it to Blender for the final output. I spent most of my time with the textures which I made in Photoshop and then applied in Zbrush.” There are too many details in this creation to mention, so we suggest just hopping over to Alpha Tribe Tomorrow to see for yourself. After your visit, don’t forget to check out Alpha’s store. It’s like a trip to the gift shop after a day at the museum. Video Production Credits: Draxtor Despres Alpha Tribe Tomorrow An allegorical world and its inhabitants: A tribe of fat cats, robotic administrators, poker-playing cats, philosopher cats, teddy bears having a picnic, flute players, and many others which are placed as the protagonists of a progression that starts from the region entrance and unfolds as you move into the ground level that is an archipelago of many islands upon which these characters are placed. 16. This week we are transported back in time to Bellefleurs, an ornately detailed recreation of a High Renaissance English estate. Creator India Canning has been active in SL almost from its inception, hence her mastery of world building. It runs in the family, as India tells us that in 2006: “my sister and brother-in-law had been contracted to explore the possibilities of using SL to promote Hawai’ian tourism in a seven {region} project based on West Maui.” India loved building inworld so much that she also mentored other Residents. Eventually, she decided to take her creations to the next level: “I decided to combine my background as a professional historian and in architectural design and art into storytelling, and conjured Bellefleurs as an evolving platform, and an open home to the community.” This region encapsulates the many possibilities of creating in the virtual world. Part duchy, part museum, with an educational angle and a romantic fountain. It's whatever you want it to be. This massive property is a wonderful place to get lost in, with so much potential for storytelling in the walls of art and attention to detail in the countless rooms. There is a level of interactivity for those curious about the region’s narrative. India says “Bellefleurs, rooted in the English history I knew, illustrates the life of a mysterious independent Duchy, yet preserves a lived-in home spanning centuries. It seeks to provoke thoughts about loss, mortality, as well as love and the essentials of life experience. There is an incomplete, written history, and a huge store of clues and evidence about the background of the elusive Canning and von Baerwald families…” For those who would like to know more, join the official group for more information. Not to mention the weekly Salon music series, fencing, opera, dancing, and more! Visit Bellefleurs today for an immersive cultural experience. Video Production Credits: Draxtor Despres Bellefleurs The spectacular Bellefleurs has been the seat of the Duchesses of Ominum since the 1590s. Built in the High English Renaissance style, it offers an incredible treasure of artwork and a full historic background of this authentic, highly detailed experience, as well as an active Salon Music series, opera, dances, En Garde, and other daily events. 17. Hi Everyone, I would guess I'm not the first person to ask this question, but I can't find any threads or other info about this: Is it possible for an SL photographer to sell their digital photos as NFTs? Lately, selling NFTs is a hot topic. We see digital art selling at marketplaces like Nifty Gateway for obscene amounts. Obviously, that's rare. Still a number of photographers have come to me lately asking if photos taken in Second Life are saleable as an NFT for a profit -- even a small profit -- on marketplaces like Nifty Gateway or Rarible. The TOS is so confusing. I've read bunches of opinions on the TOS and ethics etc., but does anyone have a concrete verifiable answer? Thanks!
  18. This week we invite you to take a fantastical journey to the regions created by Resident Natalie Starlight. United by thematic elements that draw from fairy tales, the fantasy genre, and her boundless imagination, these regions are visually sumptuous and will truly make you feel as if you have been transported to a different world. The Lost Unicorn Gallery, shown in the video, features a beautiful elven castle full of amazing fantasy artwork. There are monthly shows and events for different artists, as well as rotational exhibits. Check out the official website for more information on the latest featured artist, cottage rentals, and photos. Finian’s Dream, based on old Celtic Ireland, is a mysterious mountainside village. Walk into the fog to explore the castle, tavern, and rolling green hills. There is also Storybook, which has a more whimsical aesthetic. Frolic amongst the flowers and glistening trees! This region welcomes all avatars but is a particularly wonderful place to visit for elves, faeries, fauns, satyrs, fae and the like. Video Production Credits: Draxtor Despres Finian's Dream A mystical and beautiful land, based on old Celtic Ireland. Come discover the secrets of the forest as you explore the misty woods, stop by the tavern, see the countryside, and visit a castle. The region was designed by Noralie78. Visit in Second Life
  19. Am I allowed to post this here? I have no idea if I'm allowed to post this. I'm going to post it. No one's going to see it anyway! 😏 Opening party 4 May, 2021, 9pm SLT. Exhibit Opening and Entrance: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Sunny Hills/200/43/1501 Main Gallery: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Sunny Hills/231/30/1606 I'll be taking off a piece of clothing once every half hour . . . Ok, no. I won't be. But if your SL is like mine, I'll probably be unrezzed and unclothed for the first 30 seconds that you TP in anyway. So there's that.
