  1. You can either Submit the Destination directly or via email to the editors, as long as your location follows the Community Standards and TOS. Find all the information HERE
  2. Sounds like a very nice project ^___^ Sign me up!
  3. There are several Fantasy/Pirate/Historical RP Sims that use a system like you describe as both Gameplay Mechanics and a way to make money or acquire items. I never participated but I used to frequent a sim that had a complete farming and mining system. Apologies for not having more detailed information, just want to assure you it probably exists out there somewhere!! Hopefully other residents can chime-in with tangible suggestions.
  4. Sounds very interesting! The kind of place i'd like to hang out!! :matte-motes-big-grin: I definitely feel like you are correct in wanting to have a Collection of pieces to display purchased directly from the artists, I feel like that concept is most in-line with how real world museums operate. Maybe a good place to start would be creating a exhibit or collection which focuses on Second Life Art History; it would be amazing to have a display of prim-sculpty-art through the years, maybe highlighting famous or influential artists of Second Life's Past. I can imagine it'd take a lot of research but it would certainly be an amazing exhibit, maybe a cornerstone to build on! I'm sure plenty of residents would donate to such a cool project, perhaps people might even donate whole Pieces to enhance your collection. Regardless, love the concept, can't wait to see how the project unfolds I'd be happy to help in any way, feel free to message me inworld :matte-motes-grin:
  5. Best luck in your new project Talli! I would encourage you to put a lot of thought into your gallery, what can make you stand out from existing galleries across the grid? There are already plenty of galleries both big and small to service the SL population, so what can you do with your projet to make the scene even better! Promotion and Community are two very important things. For example, Kultivate (Windlight Magazine) provides a ton of opportunities for participating artists to promote their work, whether its renting small galleries on their sim, being featured in their main gallery or magazine, or participating in some of their many hosted events. Having such a robust system of participation which encourages both artists and viewers to get involved. Some things I would recommend would be starting a Group and having some sort of events regarding the gallery, either opening shows or featured artists, even special events like live music. It is also good to decide if your gallery will focus on quantity or quality: will you run one show a month featuring a single artist, or will you be constantly showing and rotating dozens of artists. Both methods work, but it is best to stick to one concept so your fans know what to expect from your gallery. Last but not least, reach out to Artists directly; forum posts can seem to cast a wide net, but many artists are quite busy folks with projects both inworld and IRL, so the best way to get people involved is to contact them directly and invite them to either visit or participate in your project! Once again, best luck in this new project, feel free to message me inworld I'd love to help out any way I can :matte-motes-asleep-2:
  6. Gorgeous Photography, June! Very expressive...
  7. Any more information you can provide regarding your payments? Double Check your payment information, last time I changed my password purchasing L$ did not work until I removed and re-entered my pay-pal information. If you are dealing with tier (Not rented land, but Tiered payment to LL), there is no need to worry about purchasing Lindens since Tier Payments are billed automatically every 30 days. That being said, if it is indeed a TIER problem and not simply L$ Purchasing, that will mean you are a premium member, any anything regarding money and premium members I ALWAYS recommend getting in touch with LL via Premium Live Chat, they will work with you personally to solve your problem.
  8. Required? You can certainly operate any of those vehicals with even a crummy connection. With so many things to take into consideration, you're best off just thinking "The Faster The Better". Also if you're concerned about speed probably get off WiFi. You're always going to run into performance problems operating vehicals on the "Grid", especially if you are talking about crossing from one sim into another.
  9. There's a few creators that make "Good Handling" cars, but only in terms of driveability. Smoothness of turning, acceleration, breaking, etc are all good things to look for, however when you mention Roads and Crossings, I assume you are talking about Crossing-Sims. For this, you will not be able to find a vehical that avoids skipping between Sims. Even our naked avatars experience hiccups moving from sim-to-sim, so imagine adding a prim heavy vehical into the equation! If you are really looking for a car that "Crosses Sims" well, I would suggest don't focus on the vehical, but the actual Sims you are driving on. There are many driving enthusiasts on the grid, and quite a few regions with racetracks and roadways far from the mainland with very little lag and catering towards high-performance. If you can find a Sim or Community of drivers/racers, you might be able to solve your problem.
  10. Yo Keith, just replied to your question in the Answers section. You might be on Land that does not allow Scripts, causing your HUD's to not work. Try visiting a different location and giving it another shot.
  11. Hello, Keith. Have you tried using your HUDs in a different location? The most common cause of the problem you mention is being on land that has "No Scripts". HUDs use scripts to change the appearance of your outfit and swap textures, if you are located on a parcel with No Scripts Allowed (look for an icon in the SL-URL top bar), no scripts will run. I recommend heading to a sandbox or any other land and giving it a try.
  12. Should post this in Inworld Employment you might get more luck
  13. Linden posted about this yesterday
  14. Are you looking for any Styles or Themes in particular? Just trying to narrow down the suggestions ;-D
  15. Once again I am collecting Landmarks for an upcoming project, please share all your favorite locations no matter what the topic is!!
  16. Still available for services folks ;-)
  17. Seems like a clever project, I remember saying a few months ago someone should really develope a Pokemon GO style game for the grid to encourage exploration and public spaces! I agree though, it might require some serious branding-tweaking to avoid problems.
  18. Are you partnered with the Ministry of Silly-Walks?! Lol, all Monty Python jokes aside, seems pretty cool!! I second the question of whether an Anime Style avi is required for play! Sounds like something i'd love to watch from the stands as well, will there be organized events a-lá GOHA?
  19. Hello Pauline! So honestly the closest thing you will get to a legitimate inworld job for minors would be Role-Playing, and even that is a stretch for children. Just like in Real Life it's hard for children to get real jobs, the same is true for in-game. You might find a Role-Playing community that pays active players an "Allowance", however this is usually never more than 100-200L$ a week. If you do find a community that pays good, you need to be a GREAT roleplayer and very ACTIVE to maintain that kind of position. Other common jobs you MIGHT be able to find as a child are Hosting Events, Wait-Staff at a restaurant, being a In-World photographer for individuals or events, or even being a model for childrens clothing and accessory lines (will require a nice avitar, as well as a blog or flickr). Unfortunately as a child avatar you are putting yourself in a hole, unable to access some of the most lucrative jobs on the grid which mostly live in the Adult market, such as Dancers and Escorts. As mentioned earlier in the thread, the BEST way to make money is to apply your real-world skills in the game. Writing, Scripting, Sculpting, Building and Managing are all fantastic skills to transfer onto the Grid and see real profit. Unfortunately, if you are not already fluent in these things, it will be hardly worthwhile learning for the sole purpose of a in-game job. Anyway best luck, Pauline, hope you have fun! :matte-motes-big-grin:
  20. Very random times you will find groups there, no standard popular time that I am aware of. It's a shame because it is such an interesting sim...
  21. Welcome back, Beau! Sounds like we could have a lovely chat, hope to see you inworld soon *waves*
