no value when it's up to  9.999 L$ to play for addiction sensitive people?... this is absurd.

I went over there... it's technically not gambling but it certainly is STUPID. It appears to be a trainer for how to play slots and black jack. The "chips" you get for free (stored in a hud) are used for betting and you possibly "win" more of these chips when you play the games. If you run out of your free chips, you can buy more from the so-called ATM, or I suppose, just come back tomorrow for more free chiips. The chips cannot be used for anything other than putting back into the machines. As for addicting people to gambling... seems unlikely as the favorable brain chemistry element is missing due to lack of actual winning... but it IS an introduction to gaming and perhaps opens the door to some who have not been there before.

I am definitely in the "don't the Linden's have better things to do with their time and resources" camp.

The click to buy Helios ATM is also suspect. It appears to me as a "sucker hud", something that a only noob might use. The amounts offered are outrageous... L$799, L$2499, L$4999, and L$9999. No clue as to the exchange rate for "chips of no value except game plays".

The best part of all this is , no one has to play.

We tried that POV with Gacha; it failed.  But, it still holds true with all addictions.  I haven't drank alcohol in over 30 years.  Who did I do that for?  I did it for me.

However, I don't know if this Casino thing is really what it appears.  Who the heck is really going to pay money knowing they will lose it all and end up with nothing.  Only crazy bazillionaires with nothing better to do and more money than they could ever spend in real life?  Geesh, give some to me.  lolz

This is a bit crazy, btw, imho.

There's a lot of concerns about gambling posted on the Lab's Twitter.

Yes. No one has to play the same as no one has to do anything .. that's not the point, or the problem.

I agree, BUT LL did not consider this I don't thing. But they now control on a lock the gambling.

You pay real money to buy chips so you can then play and lose them? And LL is behind this? Huh?

The world has officially gone nuts.  It's official now.  I need a relaxation type of group now, where I can rest and de-stress from this.

Is LL playing us in some way saying whatever we spend on role play is all the same?

I pay my DJ's for playing some very unique stuff and tip the venue.  At least they have taken time to provide something, a theme of music (like one Dj did all space-themed songs) or it's a uniquely talented real life musician streaming into SL, and both put in effort.

One would think so, but this region is Moderate. Obviously roleplay sex is not ok for minors, but roleplay gambling totally is. 🎰
