I know most people in this particular thread look at Bellisseria as a game to be played, but I think some of you are forgetting that that isn't what Bellisseria was designed to be. It wasn't created for people to play a fishing game with the houses as the "catch".

Five times a day is plenty. More than enough. That's 35 new homes a week. 150 in a 30 day month. 1,825 house swaps in a year.

And that's just for one avatar, never mind any premium alts anyone has.

If you can't find something that satisfies you in that many attempts, perhaps you really need to seek a different kind of satisfaction.

I have had amazingly good luck. But others have had amazingly bad luck. Just reading the posts here you can see that some people seem to have 'the bad dice' on this...

Yes, Bellisseria is not meant for 'house flipping'...

I'd say it was meant for sailing instead but... some folks disagreed with me on that...

So I will say this... I don't think that many people see Bellisseria as a game to be played... rather, they want to be able to enjoy having a wonderful spot somewhere... but some people are stuck house flipping because they keep getting spots that are bad for them (*).

Should they be further punished for their bad luck on the page? What have they done wrong? They've just had a bad run from no fault of their own... and that makes them 'wrongful' somehow?

(*) This isn't about the plots themselves... what is bad to one person is great for another. I have seen as many lots here tossed back that I wish I had gotten as I have seen people drooling over plots that I would flee in terror from. Right now on my home region I have been watching some nearby campers flip repeatedly that... to me are so good I have spent days trying to decide if I want to give up my alt's wonderful plot to try and get...

I think Bellisseria was designed to attract more people to premium accounts. It has achieved that goal I think.  I also think that beyond that, like SL, Bellisseria is designed to be whatever the residents enjoy (within reason). For some that may be exploring, creating, socialising etc. As long as what someone is doing, doesn't impact adversely on someone else, there shouldn't be a problem. People enjoying house hunting does not impact adversely on anyone, in fact if people didn't post here, no one would even know people were changing homes.

I don't know why you think I missed your point. It's the same point you always make.

That five tries a day is plenty for anyone? Play it as a game if you want, but I wouldn't expect LL to swoop in and make any changes to the number of times per day you can go fishing.

Unless maybe they charge extra for additional chances... and that's actually a groovy idea! Cut the number to once a day and then let people pay extra for more chances! Like a carnival game! Now THAT would be fun! $5 per chance, or buy 5 for $20 to get a bit of a deal on them! MOAR REVENUE FOR LL!

I have no problem with 5 times a day. I rarely use my 5. I like to keep a house/ boat/camper and play with it for a while before switching. I was really addressing your point about switching homes not being what Bellisseria was designed for. It felt like a jibe at people who enjoy this side of Linden Homes. Apologies if you did not mean it that way. I just see it as an added enjoyment of Bellisseia.

Great points, Pussycat.  I could not agree with you more. Some folks want sand, others grass or water, or countless subtle differences.  Our common thread is living in a Beautiful neighborhood without cluttered sky (or water) and enjoy some Neighborhood structure, accepting that it takes some rules to follow in order to see that happen.

We all have a different shopping list of what we'd like for our home, and I don't begrudge folks who've purchased a number of alts to increase their search for their version of happy.   The Moles have done such an amazing job, some just can't decide yet!

Sadly,  that previous poster also suggests "most people in this particular thread look at Bellisseria as a (house flipping) game..".    I've followed these posts long enough to see how grateful people are to know when areas are being released or returned to the pool.   It is a kind head's up for people looking for their home and a number have in fact found their forever home thanks to this.

Most people aren't evil or short sighted on the meaning of Bellisseria.  Sadly there will always be those who like to point superior fingers and label some less enlightened than themselves, or point to the door and tell you to get out.

Well, I am one of those switching homes like crazy, because it has taken months to get my ideal home. While I understand we all have different perspectives, because there is no one single reality, I don't think I am considering Bellisseria less because of that. To me, the continent has been a reconnection to this amazing world, that I had forgotten for years and believe it or not, changing homes was a way to relieve a lot of tension I had due to a RL home renovation that turned out to be a nightmare; we joked about it in RL, but somehow, it turned out to be true.

Thanks to Belli and to this thread in particular, I've met tons of amazing people. Fun, good heart people I've laughed with, and that have helped me in so many ways with building, scripting... understanding SL in general despite the long years I've been in this world.

So I totally see your point, but there are many more (both loving and feeling grateful for Bellisseria) . That's the beauty of life  :) :) :)

Hi!! I'm right here!! You don't have to talk around me, boo. I'm a big girl and can take anything you'd like to dish at me!

I never once said people weren't grateful, but there are most certainly people in this particular thread that spend a large amount of time catching and releasing in search of their perfect spot. There are 10,000 (plus) houses, boats, and campers on the continent now. There is no need for a head's up anymore. Yeah, they've still got about 23,000 more houses to go, but it's not difficult now to get a Bellisserian parcel. The announcing of letting go of a place was, perhaps, helpful at one point (though not really) but it kept people entertained when parcels were nearly impossible to get and frustration was bubbling over with people threatening to drop premium, accusing LL of pull a bait-and-switch, saying really horrifying things to both the Lindens and Moles, and other general misery.

So kindly take the equally superior finger that you're pointing at me and my superior finger and point it right back at yourself, sunshine. We're all allowed opinions and I didn't tell a single person to get out.

Let's imagine that you've come to a private club we all belong to.  When you enter the club, you see in front of you a long hallway with many doors, each of which leads into a comfortable little salon, each peopled with folks chatting about the topic of this particular room.

You come to a door that you know contains a small, lively group of people who are having fun in a way that you, personally, disapprove of.  They're not doing anything illegal, you just do not approve of this pleasure they share.

So what to do?

You could walk by, and just leave them to it.  OR, you could walk in, and express your disapproval.  Again.  For some reason, that is what you choose.

They stop what they're doing ... the thing that gives them pleasure ... and try to deal with your disapproval.

IRL, if someone walks into a room where you are playing bridge ... or engaging in any pleasure ... of which they disapprove, wouldn't you rather they simply ... walked past?

Rl hubbie and I have enjoyed   the release of the homes/  If his guess was close to the time and region of the release of the homes  i  make  his choice of dinner  or lunch . If i was close in my guess then he makes the coffee in the morning . Silly to some but precious to us.

Really cute, Rose 😍😍.

I still really enjoy seeing what is being released by people.  Sometimes the home is of interest to me and if I can I might have a try for it but even if it’s not, I enjoy seeing what is being put out there.

At the minute there are loads of lovely campers and houseboats available easily for anyone that wants one. I caught this lovely houseboat earlier with my RL husbands account, it has lovely views of open seas to enjoy and a cute little sandy area with seating which I am going to pretend is my garden ;) I am decorating it at the minute. 1148490028_Lapis2(1).thumb.png.e2e33c22b835ebc5be9636bcf43c7fa9.png1594054521_Lapis2(2).thumb.png.c502cb626295123b9b904e61bf5e766a.png

Wow that's amazing views...

Houseboats are not my favourite Linden homes,  I tried a few before get my current Victorian, and also found those that are very close and there was a lot of lag orbiting the camera.  But yours seems to be in a great location for live and share with your friends, contrats :)

I haven't always felt drawn to the houseboats especially if they are hemmed in by lots of others but this one is at the end plus the views are of open sea. I can only really use the Windlass model though as the others point the other way and there is a houseboat behind me. I haven't experienced much lag here and there seem to be quite a few dots on the map. It's in Lapis region.

With repeatedly getting the same home, maybe all of your 1,825 could be bounced around the same two homes!

My alt grabbed a Victorian home about an hr ago.  She was able to port inside it but not able to use the control panel on the inside or to open the door.  Parcel details show her as the owner.  What can she do to access the control panel and to open the doors

Try rezzing a new copy of the home. If that doesn't work, then click on the mailbox and hold for a few seconds to reset it, then rez a new copy of the house. If THAT doesn't work, contact Support.

Problem is  my alt can not operate the control panel, and she can't get out the door, so not able to use the mailbox
