I saw that Firestorm has a Public Beta with EEP out now. I will install it later today. I have waited for FS to include EEP, I am so used to that viewer that changing to another feels so weird.

I came across this addon yesterday on the MP. My first thought was: "Who would do this to a poor, innocent houseboat?" But I don't think its ARable.

Google 'houseboats that look like houses'.  Apparently, it is not totally out of the norm in RL.

To me, I suppose if there was an entire neighborhood of them - and only the type of permanently moored houseboat - then I could sort of see it.  But the one pictured just seems out of place (though very likely not enough out of place to be ARable).

I am going to be honest, I saw it too and I thought about buying it to give my HB a different look.  But I changed my mind.

I love sailing and THIS pic. And I have to comment on the traditionals, too. I adore my Victorian. But the first time I spun on a traditional I landed one right on the water and that made me fall for them. Their sizes are perfect for me with the prim limits. I love the area and the water around the trad areas.

I mean, tastes are different. To me it just looked like someone actually wanted a Trad home, but with water instead of a yard.

I like it too. Infact I like most of this persons add-ons. Changes the stuff up a bit. All have diff taste, clearly.

i understand its  not nice if an add- on blocks your own view though

Many put a pergola on the top, or an add-on that is basically a box with some windows. Or a helicopter. Or fills the water with palm trees. Big palm trees.

This "house" add on is better looking than some boxy add-ons, IMHO. I would live next to this one instead of a clump of huge sculpted palms. I don't think it is something for me - I like the add-on I already have.

It is big, but I can't say anything, I like big add-ons on the Traditionals I have had. It looks more massive than it is, because the boat parcel is only 16 m wide and house parcels are 32 x 32.

I may like the style better than the surrounding houseboats, I guess this niche will be filled by the stilt homes?
However, having said that, it looks jarring to me, and out of theme with the surrounding plots.
Though as it isn't a starving breedable packed, yellow smog belching, floating plywood platform stuffed , siren blaring, porn and drug den surrounded by a region sized full bright animated rotating cube it could be tricky to motivate the governance team to intervene.

@Leora Jacobus Sorry , I got carried away there, translation =  The look is nice, but it doesn't fit with the other boats. I doubt if an AR will work.

Well I just derendered it.  That solved my problem.

I hesitated to do so, for if you derender a house you see all the furniture floating in the air, which is even uglier, and would have to derender all that aswell, but if you derender this addon, it leaves a normal houseboat!

I see nothing wrong with this, Just don't look at it if it upsets you.  This is why I left Bellisseria because of the bored, desperate, nosey housewives.

Ah, because disliking an addon that basically slaps the most suburban american style on an otherwise very differently styled structure makes someone bored, desperate and nosey... and somehow a housewive. Bored? Maybe, if looking outside the window of your virtual house makes one bored. Desperate? For what? How? Doesn't make sense. Nosey? Oh...so its nosey to look around the neighborhood and form an opinion on the clearly visible outside of a house. Ah, well. And housewives? So opinions about houses are for married women who chose to stay at home only? Or do men and non-housewives suddenly turn into one, once they do this?

Syo, it's not worthy. He's been writing posts like that one for a long time, it looks like something personal again several women. So I'm happy to read these type of attitudes have left Bellisseria.

It looks fine for the area in question.  There is a lot of variety in the beach areas, including Trads/Vics placed right up near campers and HB'S -- By.  The.  Moles.  This particular house looks just fine in an area of sea-related houses next to boardwalks and sand.  You really gotta treat this like Fetlife.  Seriously.  "That's not my kink, but that's OK."  That sort of philosophy works in so many vanilla situations as well.  I see so much stuff that, to ME, looks highly unappealing, even entire neighborhoods made by the Moles -- but that's ME.  Other folks LOVE butt sex er I mean region after region of homogeneous Trad/Vics made out of white bread and mayonnaise.  With the crust removed.  Just because *I* don't like it doesn't mean I get to tell folks not to do it.  That way they'll give me the same common courtesy when I get out the clamps I mean put up a less-than-fifteen-meters-tall lighthouse.
