  1. Furries aren't hated in SL. As a matter of fact they are one of the biggest subgroups in SL and one of the oldest. There are very definitely furries working for LL. Yes, some RP areas or groups disallow furries, but generally it's not because they dislike furries, they are going for a certain theme that furries just don't fit into. That's fine. If the SL grid were wrapped around a planet to scale, it would be the size of Neptune. In that space there are many times more areas where furries are totally welcome than ones where they aren't. Try going to the former and ignoring the latter.
  2. If you won't make any effort to figure out if the problem is actually on your end, a Firestorm specific problem, or something on LL's side of things, why should they either? It may not have occurred to you, but your issues affect you a lot more than SL as a whole. You just aren't that important in the grand scheme of things and aren't entitled to any extra time just because you have a nebulous complaint that may not even be repeatable.
  3. I always try to contact the creator if there's something I really feel was misleading about an item. If I don't hear back after an IM and a notecard, I will leave the negative review with full details about what the issues was (and even then I try to find positive things as well). I've had a couple creators actually update their item to fix the issue in which case I delete the bad review and update it to a positive one. I've also had some just give me a refund with a snotty demand that I remove the review. I usually do so to avoid drama, but I'm always thinking it's a little dishonest if they have no plan to fix the problem.
  4. I don't mind groups that charge some pittance 5L or whatever to keep out spambots and griefers, but I won't pay more than that.
  5. I use this around my land on the mainland to get rid of crappy low hanging sky boxes and other unsightly prim puke if there's no option to put up masking walls. You have the right to build what you want on your land. You don't have the right to force me to look at it. I'll also derender stuff around airports I land at regularly to cut down on texture render lag. I don't feel like it hurts my SL experience at all.
  6. The LL viewer defaults to 2 which is the max on it's slider. With debug setting you can go higher. Most third party viewers let you take the slider to 4. Mesh models can be uploaded with detail models for various distance ranges. Doing that properly increases the LI a bit so some creators cheat and stick in single polygon shapes into those in order to lower their LI to make their item appear more attractive to buyers. Personally, I try not to buy from such creators. Any who's products can't hold up with a setting of 4 are flat out crappy makers and deserve horrible reviews on their products.
  7. That makes sense though I wish they could just tell you up front or give an indication that it was going to take the full time because of X reason. I don't mind the fact that it's taking the full time (other than it may not be done before the 3 day weekend) as much as the lack of any communication as to where the progress is other than 'in progress'. I guarantee that any red tape is on LL's end. Paypal doesn't care where the money is coming from as long as they get a chance to charge a fee on it. Maybe Tilia/LL will get it together to the point they will be able to do direct deposit to bank accounts at some point. I'd certainly prefer that than having to deal with Paypal as a middleman.
  8. The process credit information says it takes 2-5 days. Has anyone ever actually had it take less than the full 5 days? It's a simple digital transfer to Paypal. The only reason I can see for any delay is so LL can get some small additional interest on the funds. If they are going to charge 5% to do it, it should be done within 24 hours. I guarantee I don't get 5 extra days to process the bill to pay my land tier. *venting done*
  9. I had to enter my information in order to do a process credit on Monday. It was Name, Address, SSN. It was accepted and confirmed and I was good to go.
  10. I just did so for the first time ever on the 26th. I live in the US and did have to enter my name, address, and SSN which Tillia accepted with no issue. My understanding is I won't have to do this again. I also had to link to my Paypal account because I'd never done that, also pretty easy (Paypal was already linked to my bank account). After that I did a process credit. It was very much like selling L$ to increase one's account balance. It had me verify my password, and then indicated the amount I was processing as well as the fee that would be charged (5%). That's pretty much it.
  11. Basically, prims are no longer the limiting factor, space is. Pricing rentals by the square meter makes a lot more sense. The rentals I manage, I set a reasonable number of prims per spot, and almost nobody uses close to that number. In a couple cases somebody did need some extra and I just increased their allotment.
  12. It's to give them a little oversight to prevent abusive land buys. At this point, pretty much anything less than a 1/4 sim is likely to be set for direct sale after filing a ticket. I've done it several times and it's pretty straight forward. In most areas there are parcels of abandoned land to be found so always check before paying any more than 1L/m. If you already own land, check to see if there are small irregular patches of abandoned land around it. LL will almost always sell those to the owner of the parcel they are next to as it makes the land more valuable and desirable if it's ever sold off or abandoned again.
  13. The land I own is open for others to explore, but it's still my land and part of it is my home. If you come onto it be a polite guest. If you plunk down and then go completely unresponsive to any greeting, I'm going to ship you home.
  14. I go to a club. In only my birthday suit Blame the frigging lag
  15. I've never actually cashed out Lindens or linked a PayPal account to a bank account and I didn't have to enter any new information when I checked my billing info. At least in the US, if you have payment info on file, they likely already have enough info for Tilia processing. If you're doing something you'd think the US government would be the least interested in, you have a lot more problems than Tilia having information that is likely already searchable on the net in multiple locations. Just saying.
  16. You can adjust the sensitivity in the joystick settings, but they are actually set to reasonable levels once you get used to the controller. You are probably applying far more force than you need to. It takes a little practice and then you won't even be thinking about it, the camera will just go where you want it to. Once you get used to it, you should be able to circle pan around an AV or anything else smoothly. As far as I know there isn't a 'lock to AV' feature available.
  17. Considering this only applies to logs passed in world, it's a pretty weak protection. Copy and paste to an e-mail, Discord channel, etc and there's not a thing LL can or will do about it. I'm not even sure they enforce this even if it happens in world at this point. It's just such a trivial issue.
  18. So basically you want one while it's still trendy and something you can work into conversation just like those who drive a Prius always let you know. At least you're honest about it. I hope you get one if only because of that.
  19. Tier date is based on the date the owner got their premium account not when the sim was created as far as I know. There are probably others listed that you could check. I would think maybe 1.5 times the cost of a new non-grandfathered one would be fairly reasonable. Unless something has changed, the transfer fee for one of these is $600.
  20. At one time it was allowed. The problem was people abused the heck out of it and rather than using them for private low traffic purposes, set up clubs and such on them. This more or less overloaded the servers they were using and any other homesteads on that same CPU would be lagged out. Nowadays, it's mostly a commercial. The problem is that if they offered homesteads without needing an estate, it would effectively kill a lot of the value of full sims and the large landholders would be (understandably) upset. Think about how many would abandon their mainland areas to get one given that the tier on a Homestead is less than for half a mainland sim. Sure you get fewer prims to use, but most places now don't use anywhere close to their limit. This would be detrimental to LL's bottom line and I think to SL as a whole as people would have less reason to be social and explore.
  21. I'd be happy if they'd separate the log in name/password entirely from your user/display name. There is absolutely no excuse having half the information you need to log in with be in world viewable by anyone. Link the in world user name to the login name so people always know who they are dealing with, but they shouldn't be the same. This change alone would likely stop most phishing attacks.
  22. The SL viewer has direct support for the Space Navigator and has since like version 1.23. You don't need the 3dx drivers at all if you aren't using it with any other software. The one thing that could be interfering is if you have any other input device that claims to be a joystick. I had to actually disable the driver for that on my g-13 keypad. I've been using mine for like 6 years with no issues at all and am currently also using Win 7 64bit. IM me inworld if you want. Just be warned, once you start using it to control your camera you'll never be able to stand the standard camera controls again.
  23. You only need to provide information needed for RL currency transfer if you plan to transfer RL currency out of LL. It's not LL's choice, it's US law. If you just buy L$ or sell them and leave the credit in your LL account to pay tier and membership fees, you're good to go.
  24. Provided the neighbor in question hasn't already shown themselves to be a jerk, my general offer when I've felt the need to put up screens has been "I can put the same texture on your side I'm using on mine, I can make you're side transparent, or, if you provide a texture, I'll be glad to put that on your side." In my home area we have fairly nice mesh rock walls with greenery and waterfalls on both sides where needed. Just one complaint so far and that was from somebody who put up some super tall ugly as hell apartment buildings. The complaint? That the wall blocked the veiw of what was on our parcel and would make the apartments less desireable. They didn't like it much when it was pointed out that the view of their apartment buildings made our parcel less desireable.
  25. Actually there is a lot of land available, some as good or even better that's abandoned which means you can put in a ticket and get it at 1L/m. This includes land on protected water, roads, and rail. You might have to search it out, but it does exist and is almost always next to parcels that people are trying to sell for many times that. I have some land I got that way and thus haven't bothered with the new Linden Homes. As for a hard date, you aren't going to get one. You could keep an eye on the currently sims at the edge of the already occupied ones and get a reasonable idea of how things are going and if you try enough you can get one even now as people are giving them up occasionally. In case you didn't know, the Moles aren't paid to do what they do. They are volunteers making cool stuff for us all over the grid, not just on Bellisseria. I assume you've read the rules on banlines and orbs because you seem the type to move into a crowded neigborhood and then complain about how many others there are around and in Bellisseria, you won't be able to put up invisiwalls to keep people away. There is this little thing called SL16B coming up as well which is sort of a bigger deal to many than your issue.
