Hey everyone. I recently got wind of the shiny 3D mouse to help with camera smoothing. I thought it would be a simple plug & play, but as I've been reading... there seems to be numerous work arounds for it to be compatible with SL/Firestorm viewers. I've read though(though at this point it's 3 years dated): http://blog.nalates.net/2016/09/07/spacenavigator-windows-10-and-second-life/ Discovered: http://spacenav.sourceforge.net/ and am still unsure if the steps in the blog will work for the updated drivers. Instead of "<Transport>KMJ</Transport>" & "<InheritsFrom>STR_[something]</InheritsFrom>", the XML file only has, "<InheritsFrom>STR_DEFAULT_KMJ</InheritsFrom>" so I'm wondering how I'm supposed to change this, if this indeed will get it working? In lieu of using the blog's steps, do I download the alternate driver and remove the standard driver or is this primarily designed for Linux users? Steps taken: Installed drivers, restarted, opened Firestorm, enabled Flycam and the Joystick, and checked to make sure the properties panel of the mouse recognizes Firestorm (it does). With Flycam disabled I'm able to zoom in and out, but no other direction (even though they're checked in the properties panel), however nothing happens when it is enabled. I'm using Win7 64.

3DConnexion Space Mouse -- I need help please
Tessa2017SL posted a topic in General Discussion Forum
Hi all. I got a 3DConnexion Space Mouse as an early Christmas pressie and I'm not sure how to set it up. I tried to look for a fix online but most of the blogs are kinda old and tbh, more than my not-that-tech-savvy brain can handle. I wish it was as easy as plug and play, but anyway...when I installed the 3DConnexion driver and enabled the Joystick configuration in SL (using Firestorm viewer) all it did was zoom out and fly. I didn't change the settings or anything, just default. Then I read something about disabling the KMJ emulator, so I did that. The zooming went away and just flying, running, and some weird movements...sorry, not the best description. Maybe I just need to change the settings? But to what? What I really wanted is to do experience smooth movements as in the zooming, panning and XYZ-axis kinda of smooth movements, I don't care if it doesn't have any fly or run or walk functions. Okay, so Any advise would be much appreciated. If you know anyone who knows how to do a fix, please send me a message, I'm happy to make some sort of arrangement/compensation. Thank you!!!- 2 replies

I'm having an issue with connecting my spacemouse to my Firestorm application. I've tried like 4 different methods and still nothing. Its driving me crazy because I've gotten it to work on 3 previous laptops before, even the one I'm currently using, but unfortunately no dice. I make a lot of videos, so having this accessible to me is very important and its sucks that I can't use it at the moment. Does anybody have any updated instructions. I've disabled the joystick and everything else I needed to do per instructions on a few different websites. I've uninstalled and reinstalled like 500 times to no avail. When I finally go inworld with the camera, its like its locked onto my avatar. It tilts smoothly , it turns smoothly (but only partially) and everything is really nice, but its like the camera is locked onto my avatar and won't give me Free Flycam range . Please Please Please help ASAP. THANK YOU!
