  1. Been vaxxed since March. Great to see everyone getting it. For anyone worried about the injection, they use a needle so fine you barely feel it. If you get your first dose, make sure to get the second when it's time.
  2. I've had my trailer home for around a year and a half. I got lucky with the location and have some privacy from the nearest neighbors. It's in a nice area to go horse riding and it gives me a place to go change AVs/outfits. I don't spend a lot of time there as a rule, but it's my usual place to start from when I log in.
  3. There are a few live singers in SL I would pay a 'cover charge' to see, but I'd only pay in L$. $3US is around 750L.
  4. RIP Ebbe. You brought SL back from a pretty bad place. The grid is far better today because of you.
  5. Map zoom is working in most areas! Map tiles are in the process of updating!
  6. So you've had the flu? As in sick as hell for 2-3 weeks with fever, chills, headache, diarhea and or vomiting? Then a week or two after to fully recover? That flu? Yeah, probably not. I never want to be that sick again. For the record, the Flu normally kills 10's or even 100's of thousands every year normally. Nobody who's said it's 'only a flu' has ever had the actual flu.
  7. This along with making your log-in something other than your user name would help a lot. It's pretty stupid that half the information needed to log into somebody's account is right there inworld for anyone to see. You're log-in name shouldn't be discoverable inworld by any means. That would cut a lot of phishing attacks right there.
  8. I DJ and I get on the mic at the start of the event and to announce music requests and any announcements the venue wants made. I don't talk over the music or announce each song. I'm also active in chat and if the conversation topic gives me a song hook, I'll play it. I hate places where they give the entire history of the band, the song, blah blah blah. Just play the music.
  9. I usually just say "I really prefer to only friend those I interact with regularly. If you become such, I'll send you a friend request."
  10. Your best bet is to join some groups based around interests you have inworld. I'm in ones that focus on aviation, sailing, equestrian events, etc. Then you know you have at least some common interest to fall back on for conversation. Check out the Leeward Cruising Club. They do two sailing events a week and their motto is "Nobody left at the dock." If you don't have a boat, just ask and you can ride with somebody. Dance party after the cruise and newcomers get welcomed, not ignored.
  11. It's best to try to be nice about it, but I've had times when I either got a rude response or no response within a few days. At that point any and everything sticking over gets returned with no explanation or warning. So sorry if you linked your entire build. Next time be more careful.
  12. It seems to me that if multiple people put in requests for a parcel, they should be the only ones able to bid on it. That would lock out the flippers that only bid because they know somebody else wants it, not because they actually want to use it for themselves.
  13. I get that the new investors are probably more interested in Tilia. Still, the map has been broken long enough. Apply enough devs and crack the whip a little. Sheesh.
  14. It's a trivial script command to check a changed name and should be automated at this point. If it's no copy no trans, there's like zero loss allowing a re-delivery which should update whatever outdated system the creator was using.
  15. You'd be better off increasing your memory to 16 gigs for right now. It makes almost no sense for you to upgrade the graphics card in that. It should handle SL mostly ok. Your best bet would be to go to 16 gigs of ram and add a small SSD. Graphics cards are in such short supply right now that even a low to mid tier 1000 series card would cost more than your computer is worth by a fair amount.
  16. Thanks for all you've done for Second Life, the things we users are privy to as well as a great deal that probably happened that we'll never hear about. Enjoy your retirement to it's fullest.
  17. This is getting a bit ridiculous. The world map not working makes flying/sailing a major pain to do. The grid has been fully uplifted for a month. There is literally nothing else so broken that it can't wait at least from the user side. Seriously assign however many devs are needed and get this fixed before adding any new features.
  18. Land is worth what somebody will pay for it. I wouldn't pay more than 1L/m anywhere because almost anywhere there is at least some abandoned land nearby that LL is happy to let be claimed. There are still people who believe it's hard to get. The times when all claims went to auction are long past. At this point if you want abandoned land, just put in a ticket and you'll likely get it with no questions asked.
  19. Just poking out into a large area of protected water doesn't automatically mean it's going to get a response. Is there a clear, easy, obvious path past it? Is the item phantom? The root prim of a linkset still needs to be on an owned parcel so there is a limit to how far it can stick out. I have a parcel with items clearly on a linden owned location that they are well aware of. It's not an issue because not only don't they impede the use of that location, they enhance it. Reporting items that don't actually impede use is just being a troll and you'll likely be dismissed as such.
  20. I find out about most of my new music from those who listen to my streams. I welcome live requests and when I play a song I haven't heard before, I check into more of that singer or group's music. As for whether my music is 'legal' or not, it's just as legal as 99.9% of the DJ's in SL use.
  21. Ok, so basically the underlying code is needing a complete re-write. This is a basic function of SL that residents count on. It hasn't worked right in several months. Even before that it didn't work very well so I hope the waiting results in a MUCH faster rezzing map than we've had in the past. If it needs more than one dev, please assign them. This is right up there with group chat issues and the texture cache never actually having worked well, but the latter two we are all used to being borked.
  22. VR Chat hasn't won anything. It's pretty much the only game in town if you're one of the very small percentage with VR gear and want some sort of virtual world setting. It's not nearly as versatile as Second Life. Mostly people standing around in generic default avatars chatting and 'gesturbating' Want a custom AV? I hope you have multiple hundreds of dollars. It's the app that's getting noise about it. Probably will be something you don't hear about a year from now.
  23. Apparently, after the update this week, around half the grid will be uplifted. They are moving sims pretty quickly now that initial testing showed no major issues. If your sim doesn't end up on the cloud tomorrow, it soon will. Check out the latest Lab Gab on YouTube to find out more.
  24. You need a hook to get people interested. You can set up the new club and advertise the heck out of it and still get nobody showing up. Most new clubs fail within a couple months. I hope you have a deep pocket. The only one who really doesn't get paid for a club is the owners. You pay for the DJs, hosts, dancers. They aren't going to care if only 3 showed up, They'll still expect to be paid. I won't even consider DJing for a new club for less than 1500L per set (offset by tips). Been screwed over too many times when it's been the owner, host, a couple of owners friends and not of them are going to tip me.
  25. They sometimes send an e-mail and sometimes don't. You will be directed to a screen where you can appeal (which is difficult if you don't know the reason). They may respond and give more information, but according to the ToS they don't have to. They can ban or suspend you and never communicate with you again. The most obvious reason for an account lock is owing them money for too long. It can be very tricky to give up land or a premium account without owing another month of tier. If you violate a more substantial rule, you may never even get a reason so don't do those things.
