Peeve: When someone messages you in-world, and they KNOW you have them blocked on the Forum.

It's like they are OBSESSED!!!

I find it distressing.  Like someone chasing you around with an icepick, trying to give you a lobotomy.

That is why if I have blocked a person on the Forum I will usually block them in world as well - reason depending.

It's slow on PC too so don't feel that bad. :)

I do this as well. Sometimes I won't block them on the forum but I have them blocked in-world. I've shut off the ability to message me here so there really is no reason for me to block anyone here.

It finally started getting errors, and now appears to be back to normal.

It was kind of slow on my computer, too so maybe it wasn't just your phone.

Thanks for reporting my flickr !!

I had totally forgotten about that site and wasn't actually using it, although next time .. try to be less of a coward if you disagree with something I've said.

Wasn't me! (Seriously.)

I looked (not at yours cause I'd no way of knowing how to find it) and all you can do is "flag photo".  You have no way of knowing if it was someone here or a random person on Flickr.

Peeve: Setup music gear. Thought I'd revisit some old sheet music. Music stands are too short, ordered a sheet music stand that is just tall enough. Sheet music is not well lit, and lamp is not direct enough. Stand does not have built-in page holders; Pages do not stay down, and cheap sheet / book music clips don't work. Ordered music stand light and music clips. It's never-ending!

I was lucky first time with my music stand, quite solid, and easy to adjust the height. I got it from a specialist DJ store.

At least I have 3 now! The tall one just needed to be tall enough to peek over my keyboard stand with the second tier. Otherwise the shorter ones would have probably been fine. My theory on all the equipment is, get 2 or 3 of everything, so I can setup in multiple rooms (or so a friend / another musician can some sing / record too).

I'm exploring fantasy faire, and some of these shops are so hard to shop in!  There are some great shops, but there are also many shops that are not well done.

First of all... there are so many shops that don't take the region's lighting situation into account.  It's annoying to have to change from shared environment to midday just to see what you're selling.

The biggest issue isn't lighting, though.  It's layout.  Half the time when I walk into a shop, it's a beautiful, scenic nature area.  Maybe an underwater area, with mermaids, or maybe a garden, IDK.  So I look around, and... where are the things for sale?  Takes me a minute to realize that they are selling the things in the nature sim!  It's nice to see things together like that, and how they kind of flow together, but it's also hard to really see what I might want, and then if I want it, where's the purchase board.  Sometimes what I want is actually three items, or even worse... I just want a fountain, but I have to buy a fountain and a rock and grass and a turtle, because it's all one item.  Then, sometimes there are multiple versions, so I have to page through a vendor and carefully select what I want.  It's just a mess.  I'm not really in the market for nature sim stuff, but if I was, I don't think I could find anything in most of these stores.

I have to admit, even for these flaws, these shops are nicer than the endless walls of boards we used to have, in the in world malls.  You know what I mean.  The walls of boards we had to run through to get anywhere, from a landing point, back in the old days.  I just think maybe we went too far in the other direction now, and sacrificed functionality for aesthetics.

They didn't take advantage of the new PBR shiny to light their interior spaces?

For the most part, what you see as flaws, I see as originality and beauty.  I just changed my lighting to noon if the ambience chosen for the overall landscape wasn't suitable for shopping. And I consider the additional items in a small garden for sale a plus rather than a minus. And stores placed in a more hidden manner so as to showcase the overall beauty of the sim is a known feature of Fantasy Fairre, and one I love (not so fond of stores being visible on any sim, really).

I do have one criticism though, one PET PEEVE, regarding a particular region where even an experienced builder like myself found it difficult to click on the vendors because the builder of the sim linked all the store structures into one huge link, and the transparent bounding box blocked vendors!  The linked structures had an unusual name too, but I'm afraid it would trigger the bad word censors here if I posted it. From the name I had the feeling he didn't give a damm if anybody bought anything from the other stores embedded in his overall design, but could be he just thought it was a funny joke.

Peeve: Seeing the new Lab gab today, when I wish I would have seen it before downgrading my premiums.. hehehe

So here is a question.

If you downgrade from premium to basic and you are still in your premium term. Do they charge you again for upgrading back to premium or does it pick up where you are at today with no additional costs?

ETA: Never mind, I see that they let you cancel the request on the upgrade page.. hehehe

Now I have to roll for nice spots in Beli again..Which I really was kind of wanting to do before anyways.. lol

People who would kill a dog because it killed chickens. When I lived on a grape vineyard, we had a dog (which someone had abandoned) who our neighbors killed because it attacked their chickens. Then they called & said, "Come get your dead dog". In contrast, my husky was turned in to the SPCA for killing chickens, so she had a chance for a new home where she could be safe and happy.

Unfortunately once a dog has killed chickens it develops a bloodlust and it will be hard to keep them from killing more at every opportunity it gets to escape. This is how it was explained to me when a dog I had managed to get out and ran with some others to do that very thing. The first time we let it go thinking it would not do it again but it managed to escape another time shortly thereafter and went right back to the farm where it had killed the first batch of chickens and did it again. We wound up having the dog put down.
