Let' s not speculate about the follow up story how God panicked over the fish realising Eve went bathing in the Eden River.

It occurs to me that a lot of people haven't read the full story of Noah. If you haven't, don't. You don't want to know.

Poor young Adam didn't, as you say, have much of a choice either. Pretty much no one did in those "good old days."

I'll say this for Adam, at least in Milton's version of the story as he tells it in Paradise Lost: when faced with the fact of Eve's "sin," he chooses to join with her in that choice, knowing that he is doing "wrong," out of his love for Eve.

As Milton tells it, that's also a sin, because he's putting his love of Eve before his love for God. Still, I think that's actually pretty cool, and worth at least a box of chocolates.

This, and the previous comments about Adam and Eve, have provided serious food for thought.  Thank you.

Valentine s day make me feel good,i love atmosphere in this day in sl and in rl.but in the same time many memories comes in my head like one of my exes will have happy date with his gf and another one will celebrate it with his wife. And i will celebrate it with my lonely heart and sl

Things are often not as rosey in people's relationships as they may seem. Don't let all the hype of V-Day make you feel you're missing out on anything. Soooo many people are with the wrong people, going through the motions of this commercialised (non-) event.  As I may have said on a couple of threads already, at least half the people who received bouquets of red roses and declarations of undying love in my old work place a few Valentines Days (years) ago are not together as the "loving" couple they may have appeared to be back then.

Some of us kiss a lot of frogs to find our prince, others are Meghan Markle!

The rose looks like one of those with the light in it, I used to sell them when I worked on a holiday camp in the 1980s.

I think it was around that time when I began seeing artificial floral arrangements which had fiber optics embedded in the petals and leaves.

They were quite popular back in the day, and not just for Valentines Day. It used to look nice seeing all these lit up flowers on the tables. Although the batteries we used in them only lasted about two hours. :(

Neph will probably happily pass on Valentine's Day flowers, then?

I know I would. My tablecloths aren't treated with fire retardant.

She's quite fond of flowers actually, and may be planning either a garden or greenhouse in her back yard.

... At my expense, of course. Silly alts.

But I'd be careful about having at her with red roses, as she may perceive it as an invitation for her to nibble at your jugular.

I have mixed feelings about Valentine's Day. I hate the commercialism "let's really push this day so people buy more of our stuff". I don't like that some people will feel pressured to do something just because it's Valentine's Day, or feel that if their loved ones don't do anything, that they are somehow loved less

On the other hand not everyone tells the people they love that they do love them, enough, sometimes it can be easy to think our loved ones should 'know' (I say never assume!)  and people's lives can be busy and hectic and stressful, so sometimes these sentiments aren't always expressed as much as they could be. So it can be a good, reminder and opportunity to show them how much they are loved and cared about.

On the whole though, as I said, I really hate the commercialism of this and all the other event days throughout the year. It so easily becomes more about getting and giving presents than the real important feelings and sentiments the day is about.

Still saved a good chunk of change by switching to single.  It's been 12 years and I've never looked back.

The right relationship will enhance your life, but it is far, far, far better to be alone than in bad company.
