  1. This is because the hair is fitmesh and thus changes as you change your body size -- i.e. it will always be xxxx distance from your boobs. There was a hairstore that I visited recently that had 3 'boob' versions with different gaps for boob size. I'll dig in my inventory and see if I can find the one that I bought. With the boob versions, you won't always get a perfect fit, but can maybe find one with only a tiny gap. Also, as Claire mention, Truth has a variety of hairs with the boob versions, so many pop over and demo some of those.
  2. You can wear any shape you want with a mesh body and edit it however you want. With some mesh bodies, some of the sliders have more impact than with others. This is why it is important to demo all of the different mesh bodies to find what fits well "for you". Start with your normal shape and then simply adjust it to get what you want - no need to wear the shape that comes with the body. Remember to make copies of your normal shape before messing with it -- and maybe make a copy for each demo that you think you like, labeling it with the body name. That will make it easier to jump from body to body while demoing to see what you like best. Start with this website, which has great reviews of all the different mesh bodies available -- or most of them, anyway. http://meshbodyaddicts.com/ Final note -- as you've noted yourself, even with mesh feet and hands, the system body around the shoulders, elbows, knees, etc.. leave much to be desired. That alone is the best reason for a mesh body.
  3. Yeah, but somewhere I read that they changed that "per household" to "per email" to allow for multiple 'real' people in a household, each having some alt accounts. Much of the wiki hasn't been updated in ages.
  4. Fire roasted donuts for all (compliments of Maddy)
  5. Ahhhhhh, now I get it. Things do get confusing when threads are moved around.
  6. The OP removed the second post here and it is an ad for his services in the Employment section, so other than the double posting, the ad is valid (though it might not have been valid wherever the other post was before being merged here).
  7. A few Lindens have even mentioned in the forums here that they are being more generous with the abandoned land requests. However, one of them also mentioned that they are getting a lot of requests, so patience will likely be needed. I think the longest that I've heard it take for someone was roughly a week.
  8. Oddly enough, if you spend some time reading about the gambling laws in the various states, I'm not sure I could definitively say why some states can do it in SL and some can't. Some of the banned states having gambling within in their states. Some of the non-banned states have laws against online gambling. Thus the reasoning of it all is beyond me.
  9. The last official word that I saw was that you could have up to 5 Second Life accounts tied to one email address - and it doesn't matter if they are some/all basic or some/all Premium.
  10. Yes, oddly enough, accounts can actually go negative in L$ due to group liabilities.
  11. Yeah, but back then you had just as much of a chance of ending up with your hair or shoes up you butt than actually being where they belonged.
  12. Hmm - I didn't have that issue when I did it. Maybe it has something to do with what your default sit annimation is and/or the priority of it.
  13. Further into the video it is mostly Japanese/Asian stuff, but yeah some of that stuff isn't related at all and thus should not be allowed for a themed event.
  14. I haven't taken a picture in quite a while, but I decided to do Strawberry's 2018 Second Life Yearbook challenge (though Flickr/SmugMug seems to be having some major problems with Groups right now, so I can't actually add the photo to the correct group for the challenge).
  15. Darn, the 'adult' thread got zapped before I could read the final comments. It could have gotten exciting.
  16. IMO - M land is all you need for private living. For land shopping, I currently recommend looking at the map and finding abandoned land. There are some huge plots out there (and LL will even sub-divide for you), thus there is no reason to pay for anything else unless you really want waterfront or road access or you find something that is less than L$1 per sqm. Just open the map and click on areas that appear empty. It will say 'abandoned' if it is. Then TP there and check it out -- look in all directions with your normal draw distance and then fly up, spinning around as you go to see what is up there. Even if you don't plan on spending much time up high, go up at least to 1500 to see if the sky around you is filled with skyboxes or breedable farms. If it is and if they are in the same sim, they can cause lagging. Also, check you stats meter to ensure the FPS is decent. When you find something you like, write down the exact coordinates -- of the entire plot you want if you are wanting LL to sub-divide a large abandoned piece (and they likely won't give you a piece in the middle of an abandoned plot). Then submit a support ticket requesting them to sell it to you -- you need to already be Premium before submitting the ticket. If they agree to letting you have it, they will set it to sale for you only, usually at a price of L$1 per sqm. That ticket can take a few days to get an answer, so in the mean time, you might want to peruse for other plots in case LL doesn't want to let you have the requested one for some reason.
  17. Primarily because Phil likes arguing and must always have the last word.
  18. Most of the time, I take demos home and try them on there, but usually it is because I have multiple demos and it just seems easier to do them at home. There are times when I want to try just one demo somewhere and I'll just go ahead in the store. It is more complicated in stores since I try to avoid nudity, thus demo clothing on first, followed by current clothing being removed, then current clothing back on and demo clothing off.
  19. Yep - Basically if you don't actually spend any money, then you have to deal with a page of spam.
  20. If it is an L$0 item, then 'Buy Now' will still end up on that other page filled with recommendations and you have to scroll to the bottom to then click the 'Place your order' button. You can only avoid the spam by using 'Buy Now' on non-freebie items. As Lindal mentioned, the Buy Now' option completely bypasses processing the cart, thereby anything you had previously put in the cart is still there after any 'Buy Now' processing, so you need to watch out for that.
  21. Or if if you use Firestorm, just tick the box that tells it to append the date to the file name and you automatically get new files each day.
  22. I bought that movie as soon as it was available on DVD and watch it often. I managed a trip to New York to see the performance when it first came to Broadway. While I like the movie better, the live performance was truly unforgettable.
