  2. ( Hello there is qqun who can tell me how to send private messages on the page "my seconlife.com" I can neither choose the person nor send message ... does it work? (You cannot send messages from that page. You can send private messages in these forums (but they do not go to anyone inworld) and you can send messages inworld when you are logged in. If someone sends you a message from inworld and you have your IMs sent to email, then you may respond to the email and the person inworld will get your message.)
  3. All that radio button does these days is set the level at which you will be warned about tier increasing. I've done it time and time again with alts over the last many months. I'm pretty sure half my alts still have the button set at anywhere from 512 sqm to 8196 sqm. LL confirmed to me via chat that the current behavior is correct. If anyone encounters an issue in the future then either they did not properly keep track of their billing dates and tier used or they need to talk to billing support.
  4. The point of the thread is to just show off your daily look, not really to advertise your creations.
  5. Other than a few misc chat rooms off & on over the years, SL is my first cyberspace venture. I was never into any of the online RP games. Prior to that, I simply played various PC games starting with some text based adventure games and moving into the graphical ones later (Wishbringer, Leisure Suit Larry, King's Quest, Myst, Syberia, The Longest Journey, Aura, Dark Fall, The 7th Guest, etc... )
  6. Hmm - The Billing Support web page no longer shows all the other numbers that used to be listed https://lindenlab.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/31000131008-billing-support Billing support phone numbers Toll-Free (US/Canada): 800.294.1067 Long-Distance: 703.286.6277 Our Billing team is available from 9am to 6pm EST(6am to 3pm PST), Monday through Friday.
  7. The otter lays on his back in the water, puts the rock on his stomach, and then grips the clam or whatever in both hands and repeatedly smashes it against the rock on his belly. After it breaks open and he eats the inside, he quickly dives down to get another and then comes back up to repeat the whole scene. Interesting and a bit comical to watch. At the aquarium though, they learned that they cannot give them anything in shells harder than shrimp, because they started using the glass enclosure to smash the clams and such against. Second fun fact - in the kelp beds where they live, they wrap the kelp around them for sleeping to help ensure they don't float away.
  8. It's like when I call the internet company about an outage an the automated voice message says that for recent updates to check their web page.
  9. You do not have to buy anything. Attach the payment method to your account and then set up your MP. I'm not sure if you can remove the payment method after you get the MP established.
  10. Nothing more than the fact that you have attached a valid and verified payment method to your account. For US folks, this means a credit card or 'verified' paypal account. There is also Skrill and other options for other countries.
  11. Today was the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We actually picked a good day for it since the weather is pretty much solid grey everywhere and most of the weekend visitors left so the place was not very crowded. Heading back home super early tomorrow, so tonight will be an early dinner and then back to the room to get most of the packing done.
  12. This Firestorm page talks about copying the file from one viewer location to the other. http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_missing_inventory
  13. We popped over there this morning and found the Country Cruise and Car show was there - lots of neat old cars to look at. The sun came out and so we did the 17-mile drive, which was really pretty.
  14. You didn't actually read this entire thread or the blog post that it is referring to, did you? Name changes are coming - for a fee. The new naming system will include last names.
  15. I'm from Colorado where it is still bouncing in and out of winter. Thus I've been in short sleeves the whole trip so far, carrying a jacket, but only actually had it on for a few hours and that was in the later evening hours. I didn't even bring sweaters and only a couple of very lightweight long sleeve tops for any nice/semi-nice dinners. We spent yesterday wandering the streets of Carmel and then today we took a long drive down the Pacific Hwy - managed to enjoy a bit of actual sunshine for part of that drive. Tomorrow, the clouds are suppose to move out again in the afternoon, so we'll hit part of 17-mile drive then. Carmel was interesting - tons of art gallerys and they have wine tasting places as close together as Starbucks in Seattle.
  16. Yes and the Senate passed it. However, if the same measure does not pass the House and then get Presidential signature, then we do not have Net Neutrality back - and there is a very limited time frame for it to happen. The likelihood of it getting through the House is still extremely low. The mid-term elections may change things enough to resurrect it again.
  17. I'm taking off on vacation tomorrow. We are heading to Monterey, CA this time, which is an area that I've never been too. I'll be out of SL until sometime next Tue evening - I'm planning on managing the withdrawal with lots of wine and art shopping.
  18. Carbs for the win! Made me crave pretzels
  19. Well, to be fair, many newbies don't know much about that yet - assuming newbies that landed there soon upon creation. But, yeah, other should know how to get out.
  20. The objects? Yes - I modified the post to be clear. Thus my block/blacklist only contains objects inworld - no people.
  21. While I have blocked a few people on the forums, I've never blocked anyone inworld (except my alt during testing). I permanently derender (i.e. block) some nearby objects, but I usually just ignore people.
  22. Not yet. While the current effort will get past the Senate, it is expected to not get past the House. Unless that measure gets past the Senate, House and gets Presidential signature, the FCC ruling will still take effect. The current actions in the Senate are primarily designed to raise awareness of the issue again and try to make it a primary focus of the mid-term elections.
  23. Two people posting the exact same thing is still spamming the forums. Duplicate post here:
  24. In case the other answers weren't clear: If you win the auction, the land is automatically assigned to you - you are the personal owner. So you need enough personal tier available to cover it or you will bump to the next level. Once you are owner of the land, go to the plot inworld, open the land window, activate the appropriate group tag, check the box that says something like "owner makes contribution" and then Deed to the group. The land will move to group ownership and it will automatically donate however much of your tier is needed to cover that donation. Because the group already has excess tier avaialbe and there is that group 10% bonus thing, your donation will actually be less than the full 1024 sqm.
