  1. Yeah, I ran into a few of those back then. Maybe the owner thought folks would appreciate the joke. Some of them did actually give a prize, but you had to relog to fix the deforming, which totally negated any prize IMO.
  2. Or folks encountered a few too many of these
  3. In addition to looking at the number of triangles for each level, the LOD swap is useful for helping to determine it an item might be good for indoor or outdoor usage. Typically you will want to see an outdoor item from farther away than an indoor item - at least, that is my thinking on object viewing. In other words, I might not care if an indoor item becomes a single triangle at 20 m, but I might care for an outdoor item.
  4. How is the "Lowest" triangle count higher than the "Low"? SL magic or just bad math/rounding?
  5. I've actually picked up tons of items from this group - clothes, shoes/boots, furniture, landscaping items. Most of it is decent stuff.
  6. I change my LOD often, depending on what I'm doing. If I'm shopping for home or landscaping stuff, it gets dropped to 1.5 - 2.0. If I'm doing a hunt or cam shopping over a really large area, I'll pop it to 4.
  7. I work from home every Wed now and usually one other day of the week, though that one will vary. Not only do I often get more work done due to less distractions, most of the time I still get up at the same time and start work pretty much right away, thus working through what would typically be my commute. Often I'll even be so focused that I end up working a bit past my normal quit time also. So, all in all, the company actually benefits with me working from home.
  8. Well, Marisol was looking about 1.5 years ago. Hopefully they found something by now.
  9. Click the parcel name at the top of your screen to get the About Land window to pop up
  10. You cannot make any L$ purchase without attaching a payment method. As Fionalein mentioned, you can remove your payment method after you have made the L$ purchase. Another option is to leave it there and remove the authorization on the PayPal side of things.
  11. These actually came with a dress, but I didn't like it and tossed it. It was a special price for group membes, so I figure I came out okay even without keeping the dress. From Petry Model for L$75
  12. The hair was only L$28 so I bought it and then played with my breast slider. The hair stayed the same distance from my breasts regardless of breast size - though definitely not as far out as OP's pictures. So it is rigged to the breasts such that it adapts to size, unlike the picture that Angeoco posted above where larger breasts made the hair cut in. The few times I saw someone use 'bento' with hair was one that was rigged to some odd body bone (tail, lower leg ?) so that the hair moved when the avatar moved.
  13. This is a nice one. My son did the drum progam in high school and I loved going to the competitions to watch all the different performances.
  14. Keep an eye on the LL Blogs. I don't think any of us have heard anything more since the initial announcement.
  15. Contact billing. The Linden Home should NOT cause any billing after you release it and downgrade. If it does, then LL has messed something up. https://support.secondlife.com/billing-support/ Billing team is available from 6am to 3pm PST, Monday through Friday. 16. If you use a skin and applier from the same creator, you'll can often manage to get a really nice match on one side (side of neck or back of neck or one side and half of back of neck). However, under the chin, because of shadowing, it will likely never match perfectly. And any match you get, will change with different lighting. Mostly this is because a texture applied to the system body is just not fully the same as a texture applied to any object. Even with a mesh head and mesh body, a lot of people have difficulty with the matching. Thus why so many folks these days wear chokers. Pic 1 is one side of neck, and pic 2 is other side of neck. Standing still and simply rotating the camera for the two pictures - using CalWL lighting.
  17. Hmm, not bad. I wonder what it is with Firestorm's Flight Assist - Mild, Moderate, and Strong Boost
  18. I just saw an ad from Rezology - they have some hair that has rigging to the breast sliders, so it should adjust properly with breast size changes. Here is the MP ad I saw - look at the third picture: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/rezology-Sky-263-Bento-RIGGED-mesh-hair-SK-2582-complexity/10678894?page=3&ple=r
  19. My problem with them, at least based on the MP, is that 99% of their stuff is No Mod. I'm done with spending money on no mod furniture.
  20. I still see quite a few stores with them - though for most of them, you have to be a member of the group. As to why they aren't as popular - I think they started dying off way back when they changed how traffic was calculated. Back then, the primary purpose of them was to increase traffic.
  21. I'm pretty sure it is illegal just about everywhere in the US, if not everywhere - 'animal cruelty'. I was just surprised that LL would say to AR it, given that as far as I know, the only restrictions on it in SL would be location. This is actually the case with a few things that happen in SL, but mostly LL doesn't restrict activity based on that. Best I can tell, it is up to the user to not go see such things.
  22. Interesting - I could only see an abuse report if activity was happening on General rated land or out in the open on Moderate land.
