  1. In RL my wedding anniversary is in the first part of February, so we plan a little trip away on the weekend in-between our anniversary and Valentine's Day. We don't usually doing anything separate on Valentine's Day, though when our children stilled lived at home we always got them a little box of chocolates.
  2. It might be something about how that router handles the wireless part - or other things in your environment that may be affecting this particular wireless capabilities. I used to have a network service where my VPN/Remote desktop connection was often dropping / reconnecting, often ending with a complete disconnect. Wired, the connection worked fine. After a change of provider and different router / modem I no longer had that issue with the wireless connection to the VPN/Remote Desktop connection. Wireless isn't recommended for SL, and I would imagine this is because SL needs a very stable connection and not all wireless providers/equipment appear to offer a stable enough connection.
  3. I thought that also, though there were no indicators for me to go on, and frankly, the subject of the thread I would have thought to have been a joke as well. So, you never can tell...
  4. Seriously? If I ever tipped someone and received messages like the ones above for a tip under 500L, that would be the last time I would ever tip that person or venue, no matter how much I enjoyed the performance.
  5. See https://www.lindenlab.com/legal/community-standards Disclosure Sharing personal information about other users, either directly or indirectly, without their consent—including, but not limited to, gender, religion, age, marital status, race, sexual orientation, alternate account names (including account statuses, such as whether it is on hold, suspended, or active), and real-world location beyond what is provided by them in their user profile—is not allowed. Except for the purpose of reporting abuse or any violation of policies to Linden Lab, the remote monitoring, posting or sharing of conversations without a participant’s consent are prohibited.
  6. I've never seen anyone get in a rage about tips, but there's a small number of places that I go dancing at so maybe I've just had good luck. Generally, I like to tip the DJ, the host and the venue, if I'm able to. Sometimes it isn't a lot, but I figure something is better than nothing. I don't mind tip jars that announce or show who tipped, but I really don't like those that show the amount someone tipped. If I felt like I was being given a bad time or singled out specifically because of either not tipping, or about the amount of the tip, I would no longer go to any venue where that DJ was working, and if it was a venue policy that they do that, I would no longer go to that venue.
  7. Here's a link to Natales blog post that is often suggested when someone needs to troubleshoot their connection to SL: Troubleshoot Your SL Connection
  8. I was thinking last night about about amazing the region builds are. It's one thing to put out 10,000 houses on parcels, especially using the 'monopoly house' covers to make sure trees, etc., won't cut into houses, but to also think about landscaping 10,000 parcels, plus all the beautiful landscaping along the streets and in the public areas between parcels, and then the parks themselves. That is a lot of vision and creativity (as well as work) - kudos to the moles for the beautiful job they have been doing.
  9. If you have Maitreya, just get a re-delivery, and the re-delivery will be the BOM enabled Maitreya body which you can use just as you're using your current Maitreya body (without BOM) or you can 'turn off' the additional layers and choose BOM for the skin option (all done within the HUD). There is no separate 'BOM avatar' - it's existing mesh bodies that have been enabled or reconfigured to have BOM enabled.
  10. and the prize for winning would be a free move to another continent? 😄
  11. Hmmm.... I don't know then. Perhaps someone else will come along who has some knowledge about that message. This is a residents forum, so it would just be information others might have that have seen that message before...
  12. "Belli" refers to Bellisseria, the name of the new Linden Home continent. So you won't find it by searching for Bellisseria, but you can search on the in-world map for a region name that is part of the continent - such as "Corinth" or "Bellisseria Fairgrounds". Being a Linden Home area, the regions there have a covenant that prohibits commercial activity.
  13. I have not ever seen that message before, nor remember hearing anyone else mention it. Did you have any support cases open for anything that might have affected you account state or status? Did you receive any emails from LL recently about your account?
  14. I'm not going to quibble about that part, and perhaps I should have quoted Alyona instead of you, because of her very strong comment about never sending notecards unless specifically asked for - because there are merchants who do say they want notecards (and who usually do respond to them). I hardly ever have had to contact a merchant, but I think in the very few instances that I have, they have wanted a notecard sent.
  15. Regarding the shape, I don't have recommendations for buying a shape, but didn't a sample shape come with the Visage bento head? (I think several came with the Visage Amelia bento head when I bought it). If you wear your normal shape, and go to 'modify shape' you can write down all the slider numbers for the body, torso and legs sections - then wear one of the sample shapes that came with the bento head, enter the slider numbers from your existing shape for the body, torso and legs, and then play around with the sliders for the head to adjust it to your liking. For me anyway, it's been easier to start with a head shape that comes with the head, rather than starting from scratch.
  16. I think I may have visited Whimsy the first summer I was in SL. If so, a revisit is in order. Thanks for posting about this destination.
  17. To be fair, the OP did state "Even when they specifically say on their profiles to send them one..." so it does appear she is checking the merchant's profile for contact preferences.
  18. If you're trying to get a copy of the newest TMP body because you had purchased the original version, the new one is not a free redelivery, as far as I'm aware. I believe it needs to be purchased, though there may be a discounted price for those who had owned the deluxe body previously. If this is not what you needed help with, please add some additional information to clarify what you need.
  19. My friend had a house in that region for awhile (kitty corner across the street from this one in question). She said that it was mainly just during the SL day hours that she saw lots of activity there, and the parcel privacy was turned on. So it didn't appear like it was a group of bots that were always there.
  20. My response had been to someone else's comment regarding another body that creators are not making clothes for. I may be wrong, but a few years ago wasn't there a group of new mesh avatars that no one was making clothes for? It seems like for awhile in the Answers section when people were having trouble finding clothes, the suggestion was to switch to one of the classic starter avatars which could more easily wear system and/or standard size mesh clothes. And I'm not sure if that group of starter avatars are still available. I am not against new starter avatars, as long as there is existing clothing that will work for them. With BOM, this might be easier than it had been in the past - if new mesh starter avatars were built so that the standard sizing mesh clothes (which generally come with alpha layers) worked well on them, for example.
  21. It would also make things more confusing for new players, I think. Here's a pipe dream, because I know it would never happen - invite the body makers to 'sponsor' a starter avatar by using their body (or one of their bodies if they market more than one) to be one of the starter avatars. So we could have a Lara starter, an Eve starter, a Belleza Isis starter, a Slink Physique starter, etc., (and same for the males, from the male body makers). Then, new accounts would have a body that was pretty much comparable with everyone else, and would know which clothes and accessories to buy. Even if they all used system heads, it would still be a big step forward, I think. (It might also stimulate the creation of new (alt) accounts).
  22. A lot of it depends where you are, how crowded it is, the texture use of the build, and then your graphical settings and the viewer that are using. I generally don't run at full ultra - I try to remember to do so for picture taking. Sometimes I forget to set it back to my normal settings, so I may be traveling around, doing what ever, still at ultra but without an immediately noticeable drop in performance. Generally, the types of places I go to I don't have a lot of issues with lag (as in not being able to move around). Generally that only happens at very crowded shopping events, and I have a special graphics setting for the situation. Other places I have no problems moving around at all, but it just takes a little longer for everything to fully rez,. Once it's rezzed everything is fine. There are different things that cause different types of lag, so there may be different graphical adjustments needed for different situations. Play around not just with the low, high, mid, ultra slider, but pay attention to what settings are getting set at those different levels, and also play around with adjusting some of the individual settings. Some times you may not need as much draw distances as at other places, maybe some places are OK without shadows, or with different shadow properties, or with more imposters, or only rendering friends... There are a lot of things you can fine tune, and then you can save a group of settings with a name, so that you can easily switch back and forth between different graphics settings depending on the circumstances of what's going on around you.
  23. I've found that system layers work best for things to be worn under mesh clothing - underclothes, leggings, tank tops and such - many of the types of items that I had used appliers for pre-BOM. Some of the applier items I already owned also had come with system layers. I did find a nice fatpack of basic underwear and strapless bra on the marketplace by ::ninette creations:: I have system layer tank tops from Ducknipple. I have some system layer leggings from [V/W] Velvet Whip. Today Cog & Fleur has a nice set of stockings and garter belts (might also include bra & panties, I'm not inworld at the moment to double check) - applier and system layers on one of their midnight mania boards. One of the benefits of BOM and system layer underclothes versus applier, is that when your body rezzes, they rez on your body, rather than next to it. Also, for something like leggings to wear with a very short dress, it's very easy to make a system layer for that, and then tint it to a color that complements the mesh dress or tunic you want to wear it with. Depending on the style of a mesh dress, shirt or jacket that is cut too low, it's also sometimes possible to make and tint a system layer undershirt to wear underneath it.
