  1. Cindy, so sorry - my condolences on your loss. From little things you've mentioned from time to time, it sounds like you had a long, wonderful and fun relationship. <hugs>

    Can't login

The few times that I've received that message, I've just typed in my username and password and logged in without any further issues.
  3. Not only is beauty subjective, but some things are an acquired taste (which also means that not everyone will come around to liking it).
  4. I doubt that LL is going to provide you a list account names without you already knowing the names and being able to provide enough information to show that you are the owner of those accounts. If the account were that important to you, you should have jotted down their account names.
  5. Initially, I wore a lot of outfits that I would not have worn in RL, mostly for that reason. Over time, I've moved more and more towards how I dress in RL, to the extent possible - casual long flowy skirts with shirts appropriate for the season (long sleeve, tank tops, halter tops), sun dresses, tunics with leggings and boots, jeans, jeans, comfortable shirts, sneakers or sandals. Very loosely based on the clothing women in the circle of free-spirited friends my dad had in the late 60's/early 70's, when I was a young girl. I do have a few formal dresses for the odd occurrence where I might need them, and I have quite a few medieval, Victorian, turn of the century or Edwardian outfits because of either RP I've been involved in or because I like to dress in different time periods depending on the time period or look of places I visit.
  6. That's what it looks like to me also. Wasn't this picture from shortly before the reveal of the campers?
  7. There is still only one partner slot on the profile. You can list multiple partners in the 2nd life info (about) box on your profile, however. If you have more than one partner, and want to display their names in an equal fashion, you can put both of their names there, and not use the partner slot at all.
  8. Thanks for the additional info - those all are areas where I haven't owned parcels yet.
  9. Those would be my downfall. Fortunately we're out of Ritz crackers, but graham crackers work well as a last minute substitute. The challenge at my house is getting healthy snacks for the grandkids during the day that are not things I want to snack on myself all evening! I rarely get asked to dance, and I always politely turn the invitation down, but as far as 'just friends' dancing with other ladies from the forum, I have no problem with that.
  10. The majority of mainland does allow terraforming (at least within a 4 m - I think - range up or down from its baseline). The exceptions that I've come across so far are the Bay City regions, the Shermerville regions, and another old, old planned sub-division region (maybe Brown?) and the Linden Home areas, of course.
  11. Laika, you post very beautiful pictures. I hope that you can let whatever happened with the person you've blocked fade into the past, and resume posting here again before too long.
  12. I remember feeling panicked the first time this happened to mine. They will recover, it just takes some time.
  13. I would suggest taking a second look in the folder of things that came with your mesh body. For the ones I have, there has always been an alpha for just the body portion.
  14. This thread, in my opinion, has always been about "how does your avatar look today?" regardless of how well or how bad one is at taking and processing photos. If you knew the person who started it - he appeared to be to be pretty zany and had a lot of different 'looks', and liked to have fun - so I generally think of this thread in that sense. It is true that over time, there has been more emphasis on the graphic quality part, but that is a reflection of the interest of some people posting now who have been interested in, and sharing techniques, of improving graphic quality be it the visual part or the story part. But that's not the only reason for posting in this thread and it certainly is not a requirement for posting in this thread. I try to acknowledge everyone who shares here, because for me it's about "how do you look today" and not just about how well one can compose a picture (though I do also enjoy the beautiful compositions and stories that are appearing here now, as well).
  15. Initially I started just reading the forums for information about SL. I rarely posted until this incarnation of the forums, because I did not feel that I would fit into the community that was prevalent in the older version of the forums. Mainly I post for a sense of being part of the community here. I still read more than I post, but I still feel like I am a part of the community. The likes are nice - I see them as an acknowledgment of my contributions - but they are not the primary reason why I post. Neither is trying to have a high post count (in fact I'm amazed that my post count is as high as it is, after posting here for almost 3 years). Often I post because I feel that I have something to contribute to the discussion or because I want to share my experience or opinion. I do post in various picture threads, but not everyday. I don't come into SL every day in order to find an outfit, a location and take photos to post here or on Flickr. When I do post pictures though, it's because I want to share something about what I was doing, or where I was that day, and to participate in the community. So I think for me, the primary reason is to feel that I am a participating member of the community.
  16. Try Ctrl+Alt+F1 That toggles rendering the UI.
  17. If it's a group of disparate people, how do you know that they were banned from SL because of something that happened at a specific venue? It could have just as well been based on inappropriate activity they were engaged with at other regions. The type of activity you are referring to generally results in a complete ban from SL altogether, so I'm not sure how you would know that a lot of disparate people were banned.
  18. Learned how to make a firefly tip jar at a Builders Brewery class
  19. Just to add on to @Coby Foden's instructions, I have sometimes found that it is difficult to click on the arrow head when it is close to the edge of the screen. So if it doesn't work the first time and the arrow is close to the edge, I move my camera position so that the arrow is more in the mid-area of the screen and then I'm able to click on it and have it disappear as expected. (This is probably just a problem just with me not being able to click exactly enough when the arrow is close to the edge, but thought I'd mention it - and how I handle it - just in case others had had similar experiences.)
  20. If you feel like creating an alt, go ahead and give it a try. There are practical reasons for having an alt - using an alt as a co-owner (and 2nd person) if you ever create a group, being able to get a 10% sqm bonus for group-owned parcels are two that come to mind. I would suggest keeping your primary account. You can always log it in to use some of the primary account's inventory items for furnishings in the new alt's house, for selling gachas as you mentioned, and just in case you decide later that you want to go back to your primary account.
  21. Linden Lab rolls out new versions automatically. Generally there will be a post in the Technology Forum -> Second Life Server area each week that will have a link to the release notes of what's being rolled out that week, if there is a new version. I think that new versions are generally rolled out during the rolling restarts that occur can occur on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Looking at the sidebar on https://releasenotes.secondlife.com/simulator/2020-02-05T22%3A16%3A31.536040.html it looks like incremental changes and fixes are rolled out on an ongoing basis, rather then a huge update that is only done infrequently. ETA: I think that there is also a set of regions that may receive an update first, as a final check, before an update to all of the other regions - so they may receive an update a week before the general grid receives the update. At least that is my understanding from things I've read In in the forums.
  22. My suggestion would be to demo different bodies and see which ones you can adjust to the shape you're wanting. Then do the same with mesh heads. Check out available skins for the body/head combos you are interested in. Search in MP for clothes for the body(s) you're interested in to see the availability in general for a specific body, and in the style you're looking for - try some demos of some of the clothes. (A quick note about demoing mesh bento heads - they should come with at least 1 suggested shape - wear that initially, and then play around with the sliders to try out different looks - don't worry about the body part of the shape at that point when you're just seeing what can be done while demoing the head). Always try demos before purchasing a body, head or clothes.
  23. Another thing which I don't think has been mentioned yet, which might be fun (I enjoy it anyway) is taking classes in-world, about building or other in-world specific skills. Just off the top of my head, please which have scheduled classes each week are NCI, Caledon Oxbridge University, Builders Brewery, Helping Haven, Happy HIippo Building School. Not only can it be fun to learn some skills or get more familiar with terms you might hear being tossed about, there are also often people hanging around those areas. At least two of those places have intro classes about role-play in SL. There are classes on building, scripting, ways to earn money, how to buy or sell land.... Even if you're sure you don't want to make your own flexi skirts or hats, it's kind of cool to understand the technology and know that if you wanted, you could Anyway, there are a lot more topics and themes for classes, and searching and finding their in-world locations, going there to find the schedules and looking at the classes offered and some of the other things the location may provide is a good way to spend a bit of time in-world, anyway.
  24. The group is called CATWA HEAD Friends, and it is free to join. You can use the search function in the viewer to search groups for it, display the group profile, and then click the JOIN button to join the group. Then, you can use the 'CHAT' button from the group profile page to ask your question.
