  1. I have (and have used for various periods of time) Tonic Fine, Physique and Maitreya. For awhile, I only bought clothes that had versions for all 3. I have since decided to just use Physique, partly for the BOM, and partly because it is the one I like best from the three. I'm not a big events shopper, and probably wouldn't be considered a 'big name' creator shopper, so I haven't really noticed any issues with finding clothes I like for Physique. I think that people need to try demos of all the major brands of bodies, look to see if the style of clothes they like are available for it from places that they want to shop from, and choose the one that they like the best which they also feel best meets their clothing and accessory needs. I second-guessed myself partly because of recommendations and things I read here in the forums, which is why I ended up with 3 different bodies - I may have been better off to have just stuck with my gut-feeling which was Physique (at least it would have been better for my pocketbook) but there's probably some good from having really given the other two bodies a good try as well.
  2. If you need to create a support ticket, here is the link for that: https://lindenlab.freshdesk.com/support/tickets/new
  3. ? I'll take that to mean 'what do you mean'... On the Account History page on your dashboard, there are two balances show - L$ Linden Dollar Summary and USD$ Tilia Account Summary. Did the money from the cancelled transaction go back to the USD$ Tilia Account Summary balance?
  4. Just to confirm, my understanding is that Slink Redux does not have onion layers.
  5. Did you check your USD balance, as Rolig explained above? When you process credit, it's dealing with USD, so when cancelled it makes sense that it goes back to your USD balance.
  6. Go take a look at the new Visage heads that were released in October (I bought mine mid-October). My understanding when they came out was that they were new heads. From the NC that came with it: Welcome to the Slink Visage Mesh Head system. These heads are animated and use Bakes on Mesh to render skins, and other layers like hairbases, makeup, freckles, tattoos. They are fully compatible and seamless with the Slink Physique REDUX mesh bodies. I did not have to use a BOM applier - my system skin showed up on it right out of the box, and I can wear system layer makeup and tattoos on it, right out of the box without having to use an applier. I'm also able to use the shape sliders on it to change its shape. So, to me, it seems BOM and bento, but I'm willing to be corrected if I'm not understanding something properly - I know you have a much better understanding of behind the scenes technical knowledge than I do.
  7. If that is one of the old Linden Homes (which it looks like it is by the region name), you can't do it by clicking on the land outside of the house. You need to be standing inside the home, and then bring up the "About Land" window in the viewer - then you should have the "Abandon" button available on the About Land window.
  8. I like it a lot, but I probably have much simpler needs than many of you that post in the pictures threads with all kinds of makeup, tattoos, expressions, etc. The HUD is 1 pane only (no tabs) with several sections. The HUD does come with a selection of lipstick colors, plus the ability to tint them, adjust lip colour opacity, lip gloss opacity and glossiness. It also has a selection of different eyelashes (which can also be tinted). The HUD also has some expressions, though not as many as came with the Vista Lia head I used to wear. It also come with an 'idle' animation for the mouth which I do really like and have turned on - it's some very subtle intermittent lip movements. There is also a section on the HUD for skin options. It has a script usage of 192, according to the Avatar Script Usage display. And then there's the Slink Omega Bridge I mentioned above for using materials on the head (but I have not tried that out). Most of my makeup is system layer, as I was rather late to the game in getting a mesh head to begin with, so I don't miss not being able to use appliers as I had very few to begin with. The pictures I've posted in the 'how does your avatar look...' thread the last two months or so have all been with the Visage head and Redux body, and most all of them are taken with region default wind lights and there is no post-processing or additional 'photography' lights set up for the shots. (I think Belinda asked once if anyone ever actually just saw something on their screen and decided to take a picture of it - and yes, that's me, lol). ------------------------- ETA: I just wanted to clarify that when I said my needs are simple, I said that to indicate that I have not played around using it with all the makeups, tattoos, etc., that I see others using in the picture threads, so I can't give an opinion one way or the other on how it might perform for others in those areas. As always, trying out a demo is necessary for checking one's specific needs and usage.
  9. Slink came out with a bento BOM head (the Slink Visage line just after the Redux body was introduced). I wear the Slink Visage Amelia head, and as far as I can tell there are no onion-skins on it. However, there was a Slink Omega Bridge in the package with the head, and according to the included NC's, the Slink Omega Bridge can be used for Materials or Nail Polish. Further information on another included NC states this only works for materials for the head.
  10. I agree that skyboxes and platforms below the required height placement is a major concern, and those should clearly be reported. While I would hope no one will actually file complaints about mismatched flowers or placement of lawn chairs, there have been some comments in this thread that have veered towards that type of criticism - even if it's just complaining about it here in this thread, that just doesn't sit well with me. (And yes I know I don't need to read this thread if the content in it starts to bother me).
  11. I prefer text to voice as well, for many of the same reasons that have been listed. I don't mind listening to voice when it makes sense for me to do so - there's a church service I attend sometimes where the pastor uses voice (but also puts most everything into text chat as well, so those not able to listen on voice are not left out). I think I've also turned on voice for some town halls or meeting where the Lindens were present and speaking on voice. Until a week or so ago, I couldn't use voice even if I wanted to, but I recently got a keyboard, mouse, headphones with mic combo package. So now I have a mic, but haven't decided whether to try it out or not. I think I may feel weird talking to my computer screen - I don't use voice commands / voice search on my phone for that reason.
  12. Regarding the horses in back yards and the Victorians, that is highly subjective as to being in theme, because at the time those styles of houses were originally built, they probably did have a carriage house and horses. It depends I think on whether the parcel owner is living in modern times in a restored house, or is imagining living back in the 1800's. I don't know if you can say that one is more 'in theme' than the other, as the theme doesn't specify a time period to officially be observed. All the questions about where to find 'victorian furniture' and 'victorian plants' that I've seen here in the forums don't help to clarify the time period for the theme either, or the time period that various people are decorating to. While I agree that things that are clearly out of theme should be reported, I don't want to feel like there is an HOA (Home Owners Association) board that is continually snooping around nit-picking about every little thing they think might be 'out of place'. I think people need to feel free to use some creativity in their decor, staying within a broad, general interpretation of the theme, without having to worry that their house will be the focus of comments here.
  13. I was visiting a friend down in Gullwing, and afterwords walked along the dunes. I was glad to find a concession booth that was not pickles on a stick. I much more prefer some good ice cream
  14. OK, I won't be able to be much help, as I don't wear either of those since BOM came out (I decided to go full Slink Redux at that time), but both Maitreya and Genus are very popular with others here in the forum, so hopefully someone else will be along soon that can comment on how to get those brands set up for BOM. (I think, but am not sure, that there is an applier for Lara that will provide BOM functionality.)
  15. If you are asking how to use it on your avatar, it depends on the brand of mesh body / mesh head you have. If your mesh body and/or head are BOM compatible, and you're just having problems using the BOM functionality, a few specifics about the problems you're running into would be helpful for those who might be able to provide some answers.
  16. Take a look under Preferences -> Sound & Media -> UI Sounds 1. In the list on that screen there are sound options for Incoming Instant Message, Group Instant Message and Ad-hoc Instant Message (about half-way down the list.) Look at the right hand column for those and take a look at the option settings on for them, on the right side of the line. If that's not the cause of your issue, post back here and/or ask in the Firestorm group in-world or search in the Firestorm support wiki. There are some Firestorm gurus who regularly post here in the forums and they may know right off the bat where you should be looking to fix that, if it's somewhere different than I suggested.
  17. On the phone making arrangements with a contractor for a wrap-around porch for my Continental house in Bellisseria (as I search for the one I want on the the MP).
  18. When you're standing in the parcel (in the house or the yard) open up "About Land". On the 'General' tab, on the bottom right hand side, there is an "Abandon Land" button. I believe you will get a pop-up asking you to confirm (but I'm not going to try it to find out). Once you confirm, you cannot get the parcel back.
  19. I had really noticed face lights until last week, when someone was wearing one of these super bright ones when I was out dancing. It caught my attention in part because there was this cone of light that kept moving around on the floor, and when I looked to see where that was coming from, I was just about blinded After that, I started realizing that were others in that set of regions who were also wearing face lights, but much more subtle than the lady dancing.
  20. In a case of the neighbors sounds being heard on your parcel, you can ask the neighbor politely to check the box in About Land that will restrict their sounds to their parcel.
  21. Interesting. I wasn't aware that the stream was supposed to be cleared on abandoning. I've come across streams sill being defined, owner-supplied land parcel picture displaying in About Land, and the landing point coordinates still there. More common in the old Linden Homes, but I've encountered this a few times in the New Linden homes as well.
  22. I have noticed that the initial TP from the land page after claiming a houseboat does tend to put you in the water. However, the parcel with your houseboat will have the name that you supplied when claiming the houseboat. So, look at the parcel name up in the top area of the viewer and make sure it's the name you entered. Once you get onto the houseboat you can either set a new landmark for that location, or even better, set it as your home location. Then, when you come back, you won't end up in the water again. Regarding the music, it most likely was a choice from a prior owner, but it is easy to change or clear - on the "About Land" pop-up box, there is a tab for 'Sound" and you can clear the entry that is currently in there for the stream. Regarding the red scripts, you can use Live Chat to report that, and they can contact the appropriate support staff to resolve that. Here are some links to some Knowledge Base articles that you will probably find helpful:
  23. Yes, if you wanted to keep your 1024 sqm on Mainland, PLUS get one of the new Linden Homes, you would need to pay $7 per month in tier. You can see the monthly costs for various tier levels on your web dashboard (Land Manager -> Land Use Fees) on the bottom part of the page. In this situation you would probably need to go there and click the radio button to agree to an increase up to an additional 1024 sqm per month before trying to claim a new Linden Home (and you would not be charged the $7 per month UNLESS your actual tier amount went higher the free 1024 sqm.) (When looking at the square meters and the costs chart, keep in mind that the free 1024 sqm is added on to the sqm total shown for each cost level. ) If you don't want to pay a monthly tier cost, but still have a new Linden Home, you would need to sell or abandon your mainland, first. Also, one of the new styles - the camper/trailers only uses 512 sqm of tier (but also only as 175 LI available).
