For me, my preferred channels of communication in Second Life are in this order, from most preferred to least: Local Text Chat, Voice Chat, then IM chat. What can I say, I like multi-person conversations. More fun. I only use IMs if another person IMed me first or if I'm friends with the person and have a specific request (which I make clear in my opening message).

So, we begin a new week. There was nothing rolled to the RC channels last week, so we should not expect anything on Main Server this week, obviously. What we are still being starved of is information on what is being done "behind the scenes" on " back-end" services. It has become a tradition within SL that such information is not disclosed to users. It is a tradition that must end. Personally, I am sick and tired of being treated like a mushroom. I am NOT an idiot and I can cope with erratic services providing there is some explanation. This information vacuum is typical but this time it is unreasonable. Are we to believe that Linden Research's new owners have so hamstrung LL that they DARE not tell us what (or how little) is actually being done? Currently SL is seeing the highest concurrency numbers for years. That will not last long unless we see some sort of route- map for the significant work that is still needed to get SL working properly again.

Hey, so i'm not sure if this is just me or if it's happening to anyone else(?), but for some reason, merchants never seem to answer my support request notecards. Even when they specifically say on their profiles to send them one, and i do, they never reply. The last time i got a reply was like a month ago, and that was for a notecard i sent in the beginning of december. Is it normal to keep customers waiting for a whole month to answer their notecards? Or not to answer them at all? Help?? 😧

So, I've been around for a while and I've collected my fair share of objects. Who hasn't these days? lol But, one of those objects has a hud that has an option to allow you to speak as the object. My question, though, is, where, or how can I find the script to recreate such a thing? Not the entire system, but, just the part that gives the ability to type into a hud and have an object in local/nearby chat act as though it was the one that spoke. So, like, say I was elsewhere on a different sim, and the object in question was "listening" or so, to whoever was nearby, and i wanted to "speak" through the object, using the hud. I know it's possible to speak as an object, I just don't know how to either recreate or find the script that allows you to type into a hud and use it to "speak" as an object.
