Unless we stop being *****ty towards one another aliens being real or not isn't going to matter. You've got idiots refusing to wear masks and get vaccinated despite the benefit it would be to other people's well being. I honestly would tell any aliens out there to stay the %$#^ away. We're stupid and dangerous.

Just to name a few off the top of my head that I used to read back when they were still worth reading.

Thank you for the list. Mad magazine I read, but as you did, I mentioned just off the top of my head too. Of course, what I tossed out is/was not absolute.

Correction: I meant to say Babylon Bee as opposed to just the Bee. My bad.

Ofcourse aliens are real. Always have been as long as humanity has existed as a sentient species itself - otherwise humanity wouldn't exist as from a certain point of view we're aliens drifting on this rock we call Earth as any other planet. So I'm not surprised. It's just basic logic and reasoning.

When I first saw footage of the F/A-18's cameras taking a shot of that object I knew something was weird about it.

That being said, observatories have discovered planets with trees and other sorts of fauna and so for a ecosystem to thrive it has to have it's own sort of life-forms to maintain it and with that, being that fauna is a living being itself those trees are alien in nature by default and seeing as Earth exists, ofcourse that exists.

The Fermi Paradox all of it. I'd wager a guess that it's rare to find aliens, as it's rare to find sentient beings in general. Humanity is one of those rare examples and I feel animals would be much more common to find knowing how everything has worked for millions of of years. It JUST recently took the universe to get to this point that humans are a thing.

So whose to say what the future holds?

What did you find weird about it compared to other F/A-18 IR footage?

This was the one I saw a few years ago. The object zoomed by faster than any aircraft in existence (and it's shape was very clear and distinct, it was not a comet or anything). This I figured was the very tape the Navy confirmed to be real. Since then that video has been stuck in my head and with how the pilots reacted and everything.

The very first video to my knowledge - so I thought it was particularly notable knowing things. Lots of people will assume "Oh that's just a B-2 Spirit bomber or a F-117 hahaha..." but IMO that's just them being hopeful and not wanting to accept the possibility despite the logic behind it. Some people don't understand what they see and so are fearful about it  so they'll try and come to any possible conclusion that it's not there as some defense mechanism half of the time to sooth themselves.

So that in mind when I was studying the object, it kinda looked like a manta ray or something and I thought "That is so weird..."

... And honestly? I've had a personal sighting myself; about 3 years ago I was on the porch at about 11 PM and there was this low-flying aircraft that didn't make a sound at all. Thing was big.

I think what is more likely, is people get really excited and then disappointed when they find out that it is fake or that there is another explanation that makes more sense.  Fear is not a factor, it is just frustration with being disappointed constantly when it comes to things like UFOs, psychics, ghosts, etc.  Personally, whenever I see new evidence now I think it is exciting, let my imagination wander, then start investigating what other people have to say about it.  I never fully let myself go and believe it is real without first seeing if there are other explanation.

I would rather live in a world with aliens on earth, psychics, and ghosts - unfortunately that just doesn't seem like it is the case.  I think it is more scary to think we are alone on this tiny blue dot, that aliens will never rescue us, and when we die that is the end of it all.

Eh, it's a part of it as humans are pretty primitive creatures I mean. I wasn't implying that's all there is to it.

I like to think it's more varied than 'Aliens will never rescue us' as I feel with the countless systems and planets out there there's bound to be multiple alien civilizations with their own motives and levels of peace and aggression.

Some won't care, some will be neutral and some will consider but not necessarily act out their thoughts of an invasion force and I feel with some of the resources that Earth has some civilizations may just send out a harvesting fleet to see what they could find then dart off. That being said, they don't necessarily need to head to Earth for it - they can just mine the asteroids around us for diamonds and what not.

And seeing as how their tech could potentially be if we look at things through the perspective of say the Fermi Paradox and other such theories they could have ships in orbit right now that simply aren't detected by our scanners just yet.

Life to me is very varied just like humanity is vary varied here on Earth. Not all of us wanna kill each other, but some do, while others just wanna be neutral and isolate themselves on a island and do their own thing as if the outside world didn't exist to them.

I think the main point I'm making here is some of those people in the videos jumping at it with their own explanations can be closed-minded people at times and not consider the bigger picture which I think we should for betterment of mankind.

I'm the kinda guy that yes, thinks some conspiracy theories have logical merit to them. While objectively yes some are insane. Meanwhile some people lump all conspiracy theories and theorists together as nutjobs (which in reality limits their thinking and potential growth as a person altogether as the old saying goes: "Don't tell me I told you so if it happens").

I've witnessed two B2 flyovers, low and slow and silent. The engines are above the wing, throwing most of the acoustic energy up into the sky. I live on the shore of Lake Michigan, which itself throws a lot of roar into the air. This often masks the noise from jets, making for eerie observations.

What’s more likely, the video shows aliens with physics defying technology or I don’t know what I’m looking at? I know where my money is going.

I’m not going to pretend I know what I’m looking at with jet fighter HUD footage, because I don’t. I might as well be looking at the Matrix. But I can find people who do, and the videos don’t look nearly so weird after that.

It’s not aliens.

As I watch the proffered video and still images all I can think of is how much money we spent on those fancy flying weapon platforms and this is the best imagery they can return to us?  I feel like I have been financially abused.

Those images look like what I would see if I was behind a frosted plastic sheet and somebody on the other side was dragging a finger around on it.  I can buy a frosted shower curtain for $2.

I doubt it’s the best they can show us, it’s all they will show us because most of it is classified. I’m sure there’s a reason the people who leaked this crap as evidence of UFO’s leaked the *****tiest footage they could find, that’s what they always do.

I don't like resurrecting threads but the unclassified version of the Pentagon's UFO report came out a little while ago and I want to add a link of it to the thread. The main points are: There is an "unidentified aerial phenomena task force", UAPTF that collected 144 reports of UAP from US government sources since 2004 which are mostly from the US Navy. 80 were recorded on multiple sensors like cameras, infrared sensors, radar, weapon seekers, and eyeballs. 18 had unusual flight characteristics, e.g. didn't fly like a plane or float like a balloon. The UAPTF found a few patterns in all the reports and found common shapes, sizes and propulsion. The UAP do threaten flight safety and national security.  The UAPTF is going to collect more data from the US Airforce and the US FAA (federal aviation administration) which handles all commercial air flights.

The report was largely inconclusive. The classified report probably doesn't have more information on the UAP but likely has detailed information on the type of Navy craft and locations where the Navy was operating. At the very least the UAPTF is now a real thing and the military will go about collecting information with due diligence.

Are aliens real? They must be. Logically, if one observes advanced technology it must have been made by advanced races. Since no other country appears to be that advanced by observing their current technology it must be someone else. I suppose other reasons why extraterrestrial aliens would not be the source of advanced craft is that it could also be humans from the future or from another dimension. It could also be terrestrial aliens. Whatever it is, it's not us. And it's real.

The drone solves all that. It is launched underwater from a 3-inch tube normally used for noisemaking decoys, bobs to the surface and then takes off, unfolding wings and an electric propeller. Equipped with daylight and night vision cameras, it relays data back to the submerged submarine. While sonar might have difficulty picking out one specific vessel from a group, the drone can easily identify and give the exact location, speed and bearing information needed to launch a torpedo.

Goggin’s use of the term ‘awesome’ is probably not an accident: the project was developed under the name 'Advanced Weapons Enhanced by Submarine UAS against Mobile targets' – AWESUM for short.

I mean, this would seem to make sense if they're encountering things over open water. The irony is, it's probably just them testing their own system, now a pretense for further funding? Haven't they been fighting an arms race with themselves at everyone's expense for the last three decades?

How do you know they're observing advanced technology and not malfunctions in systems comprised of machines and... people? Why would aliens not be observed by the vastly larger commercial and private aviation populations, or people on the ground? Remember that the planet is blanketed by air-traffic-control and doppler weather radar systems in 24/7 operation. There are also millions of backyard skywatchers around the globe, who find most of the comets and asteroids we know about today. Why don't they spot UFOs?

Why do UFO sightings have a lagging correlation with pop culture UFO depictions? How could aliens be so smart that they do all these things, but so stupid they haven't advanced their technology in the 74 years since the Roswell incident?

If you plotted a trend line of UFO accounts against the progress of sensing technology (I'm looking for such a graph), I suspect you'd find that, the better our detection technology becomes, the fewer sightings there are.

Unless I am missing something, tinfoil hat technology seems stuck at Cold War levels, which suggests that the techies in charge have decided we are already smarter than the aliens.  The aliens, in turn, have recognized the futility of continued surveillance, and have all gone home. Otherwise, there would be a booming market for better tinfoil hats.

If the Republicans hadn't gutted NASA's budget a few decades ago, we might already be  colonizing Mars. Who knows what (or who) may have set any extraterrestrial species back during the last 74 earth years. If they exist, they may not "observe" time as we do. They may not measure galactic distances by lightyears either.

Either way, I don't see that it really matters since we are well on our way to eliminating Homo sapiens sapiens ourselves. I'm sure any ETs keeping an eye on this planet are smart enough to wait until after we wipe ourselves out to move in. If they are even interested in the planet. Earth may be nothing more than a pit stop for them.

Ok, that's not ALL I'm saying.

We always try to compare extraterrestrial technology to what WE know is possible.

We as humans, learn new things all the time.  To somehow think that we are the most advanced civilization in this or any universe is just...I can't find the right word.  Egotistical?

As I mentioned early in this thread, I sure hope we aren't the most advanced/intelligent creatures in the vastness of space.  THAT would be scary.

I think the "technology" of UFO sightings is all wet (both behind the ears and between them), and well predates the invention of tinfoil. The recent and increasing application of science reveals fully natural explanations for the panoply of "supernatural" human experiences.

My father was skeptical of command hierarchies, both military and civilian. The skills that allow one to rise within such organizations are often soft and at odds with rational analysis. I would be more impressed by UFO reports from seasoned backyard astronomers, who have both interest in and knowledge of things in the sky.

As you know, the intelligence and technological prowess required to visit us from afar is significantly beyond anything we currently comprehend. That argues against cat and mouse games, as cats and mice are fairly matched in intellect and technology.
