All of this is exquisite! I have 2 one-month alts that have good parcels - one on a canal with a water view from the front and side and a beautiful red maple, and another with a green, hilly tree-filled back garden like yours. As much as I love that maple and the water sounds, that house isn't really speaking to me, but the Rabenda or possibly Shion on the greener site is.

My first Sakura home is the Renge.  I got a beautiful spot on my very first roll.  I love this theme and can't wait to try other models with some of the great ideas I am getting from this thread.

I LOVE what you have done, especially the kitchen!!  May I ask where it is from?

This isn't really a theme that speaks to me, but I wanted the challenge anyway.  The extent of my knowledge of Japanese culture consists of Pokémon, Sushi and Hiyou Miyazaki movies, so this was always going to be weird for me.  I decided landscapes and animals were safe (no tigers or pandas in Japan, though.)  I won't be keeping this home, but it is in a nice place and feels roomy for a 512-parcel surrounded by 512 parcels.  Hopefully no one is insulted by my lack of cultural knowledge in decorating. I do like how the bamboo herb ladder looks on the front porch.  I love all the windows and the sunrise view over the void.

It has been a great labor of love furnishing my Sakura home. I've spent a lot of time researching, because I really don't have any personal experience with life in Japan. I have always loved koi, bonsai, and the serenity of Asian gardens. I taught world cultures for a period of time, but I feel as though Asian studies are sorely lacking in American secondary schools. I have barely scratched the surface in my quest to learn about Japanese culture and will continue learning. So I hope my feeble attempt, as a westerner, to capture the flavor of a traditional Japanese home during modern times does not step on any toes.

Welcome to my home in Sugureta Gohan. It sits on a mountain side with a lovely waterfall and stream on one side.

falls.thumb.png.e928e8ca3f0b28f87886c2bd671aac98.png

Once inside, as you walk toward the living area you have a lovely view to the Tsuboniwa, courtyard garden.

Or if you turn to the right, you may enter my room of treasures.

Just beyond the treasure room lies my bedroom. It's sparsely decorated with a lovely view.

I will continue the tour in another post.

Continuing toward the living space is the bathroom/kitchen build out. I really wanted a traditional Japanese bath. bath2.thumb.png.17d167e45686bacfaa0f2f8159c3254c.png

The newly constructed bathroom wall provided the perfect spot for my small but functional kitchen space.

Been playing with my Log, most of it is done, still have around 90 LI. The kitchen is upstairs, bedroom and small study downstairs. Only add-ons are some brick walls I made, and a half stone shell outside (that is free is the marketplace BTW). And the double doors.

A  bit tired, so, I'm resting :)

I have attempted an add on for my Wallflower Boathouse. I really enjoyed doing it.
Does anyone have any tips for aligning textures?
I couldn't see a way of doing it apart from the horizontal offset.
It may not be to ev eryone's liking but I like it. It was only about 28 prims 🙂Side-View-Thames-Le-Prince.jpg.fc64d2c7ef0bf93d3599c6955d11f1bb.jpgSide-Top-Down-View-_-Thames-Le-Prince.jpg.ece583efdb5da98c95b2201981fd4b8e.jpgFront-View-with-boats-_-Thames-Le-Prince.jpg.6a6edb8edf8829faa17c96cc3ae0d10b.jpgFront-View-_-Thames-Le-Prince.jpg.45ac19a51cc08cce8945e131cbb62523.jpgBack-View-_-Thames-Le-Prince.jpg.25a234fc56661c33db0639b85afa20da.jpg

I got it years ago out of Deco(c)rate. I am not sure if it is sold now but it might be worth looking for in their store.

Pewpew! Zen Dinner / Deco(c)rate

Thank you! I just checked the pewpew store and they do indeed have the set, 25 LI if anyone is interested. I believe the entire set is around 800L. no eating animations and not a lot of sits but it works for me!

My Shelley. Mind this is with 74 Land Impact unused because I have a guest sharing the house and want plenty free for him to rez things. I made the side fencing in a sandbox and anchored it to the walkway and carport driveway so it can be off the parcel, lined up with the existing fencing. It's cheating a bit, but this is the only way it looks right.

It's the same idea as off-sim rocks or islands. The base prim has to be on your land, but prims linked to it can be off your land. Because the base prim is on your land all the land impact for that object count as being on your land. In Bellisseria, we're not supposed to use off-sim items, yet the Linden fencing and border walls are all outside of the parcels. Thus the only way to continue existing borders with a seamless look is to make the same kind of border, link it to a base prim inside your parcel and then slide it over until it lines up with the existing border.

I wanted fencing on this parcel that would match what was at the front of the house. By stretching the iron fencing included in the Victorian pack I was able to make larger pieces that were still only 1 Land Impact. I started making a wall of these with the brick columns between the iron fencing. I could slide them over when linked to a base prim on my property, but found I couldn't delete any pieces while some pieces were hanging off my property. Since I'd already made a matching piece of sidewalk to connect the existing sidewalk to my front steps and another piece to serve as my driveway, I decide to link all my created fencing to these, with the walkway prim as my base prim.

By using the iron fencing, existing Linden plants looked ok going through it and this doesn't block the views of my neighbors. I like the gothic look of it too.

266542113_Alycia-AKCleoheadLAQCamileskin_007.thumb.jpg.8ca9e5ef699b97e48296cc68e66abb44.jpg

I had to adjust the heights and placement of the pieces to line up with the existing Linden sidewalks and fencing. Some final adjustments had to be done on a sandbox, where I linked all the fencing and my driveway to my base prim. Then I placed my walkway base prim back where it had been, lined up with the Linden sidewalk. This also lined up my fencing with the Linden brick columns at the front of the parcel.

Really nice Persephone. It gives a great sense of every room being used. I am guilty of mainly living outside and do not spend enough time inside. Probably having 4 boats floating outside has something to do with it.

Well done Tary, you have changed my mind about the Log Cabins. Really rustic and cosy.
