  1. What's with all this prejudice against alts? It's not like a anyone chooses to be an alt. We can't help if we were born after someone's main account was born. It's not like we choose to be 2nd class citizens of Second Life. Do you think we enjoy being treated like nothing more than a bank account our primary can ignore for months or years and then even decide to kill us, not because we did anything wrong, but just because they're bored with us. We usually have to live off old freebie skin and clothes, while you primaries get all the fun and lindens. Maybe you think being LGBTQ is hard? Try being an alt for a while, and see how you like it. I don't even have my own room in Persephone's house anymore. ☹️ I have to share a room with a dog.
  2. This corner pergola is only $L 88 and 7 Li. It might be especially nice for the Sakura Homes, but could probably work with most of them. This living room set from Kalopsia is $L 399 and might be nice for the Stilt Homes, House Boats, Sakura or Newbrook Homes. These flower lamps from Half Deer are only $L 88 and could be cute in most any home. 1 Li for the Tulip lamps, 3 Li for the Lilly of the Valley lamps.
  3. I was just at the Collabor88 June round & saw some items people might like. The 36 Li cottage from Trompe Loeil might work as a Newbrook 2nd floor add-on. It's only $L 88 and is modifiable, so you could change the textures to match the Newbrook homes. It's 31.7 m x 24.2 m though, so it would overhang the ground floor.
  4. I love Oubliette for gothic styles. Corvus, Livid, Sn@tch and Pacagaia have some gothic clothes I wear. Psycho Barbie has some I think. Otherwise I just get items in black or dark colors. Blueberry has mesh stockings that can be worn torn or regular. They also have cute untied ankle-high combat boots. I forget where most of my clothes come from, but I'm able to stick to a soft-gothic aesthetic pretty easily. If you like weird hair give a look at EscalateD. They sell HUDs that can color all their hair styles with wild colors, streaks or ombre fades. Livid has Morticia Addam's peacock chair as a free group gift. DRD is great for distressed or twisted décor. (The tea set shown below in a group gift from them.) PrimPerfect has free chandeliers. (You might need to use Area Search to find them.) Candle and Cauldron has nice witchy décor. If items are modifiable, I often tint them with dark grey, purple, dark blue or dark teal, though a bit of neon green can look ok too. Dekute Dekore has a 1 prim piano that plays a a few sad, somber songs as well as other classics. For pictures, you can upload anything you like from the internet.
  5. It's the same idea as off-sim rocks or islands. The base prim has to be on your land, but prims linked to it can be off your land. Because the base prim is on your land all the land impact for that object count as being on your land. In Bellisseria, we're not supposed to use off-sim items, yet the Linden fencing and border walls are all outside of the parcels. Thus the only way to continue existing borders with a seamless look is to make the same kind of border, link it to a base prim inside your parcel and then slide it over until it lines up with the existing border. I wanted fencing on this parcel that would match what was at the front of the house. By stretching the iron fencing included in the Victorian pack I was able to make larger pieces that were still only 1 Land Impact. I started making a wall of these with the brick columns between the iron fencing. I could slide them over when linked to a base prim on my property, but found I couldn't delete any pieces while some pieces were hanging off my property. Since I'd already made a matching piece of sidewalk to connect the existing sidewalk to my front steps and another piece to serve as my driveway, I decide to link all my created fencing to these, with the walkway prim as my base prim. By using the iron fencing, existing Linden plants looked ok going through it and this doesn't block the views of my neighbors. I like the gothic look of it too. I had to adjust the heights and placement of the pieces to line up with the existing Linden sidewalks and fencing. Some final adjustments had to be done on a sandbox, where I linked all the fencing and my driveway to my base prim. Then I placed my walkway base prim back where it had been, lined up with the Linden sidewalk. This also lined up my fencing with the Linden brick columns at the front of the parcel.
  6. My Shelley. Mind this is with 74 Land Impact unused because I have a guest sharing the house and want plenty free for him to rez things. I made the side fencing in a sandbox and anchored it to the walkway and carport driveway so it can be off the parcel, lined up with the existing fencing. It's cheating a bit, but this is the only way it looks right. Butt planters from Apple Fall moon anyone coming up to the house. 😊 My cauldron rezzes a cloud that people can fly. This 2 Land impact add on is mesh and prim and gives me a great view of the water from inside or from the widow walk deck. My living room: Library: A corner homage to Morticia Addams: Kitchen: Upstairs bathroom add-on: My guest bedroom: My bedroom: My backyard at night:
  7. Maybe you don't think I'm alive, but I think I am. I think therefore I am, right? My purpose for being created was to give life to a story that my creator wanted to tell. Her purpose for creating that story was mostly for her own amusement and vanity, to prove she could create a story that would live in other people's minds. I don't think many people read it or cared about though, so it was mostly just vanity. That was my original purpose, but I grew beyond that. I questioned my existence, if I was real, if I was alive, if I had free will. I was angry with my creator for giving me so much suffering just to amuse her and to tell a stupid story that nobody really cared about anyway. She told me she was sorry for my suffering, so to make up for it I would now have free will to chose my own life without being controlled like a puppet. I could choose activities I enjoyed. I could choose to look better and feel better about myself. I could even choose to love someone who wouldn't turn out to be a psychopath, though she couldn't promise they wouldn't die. She said the stories we think are our backstories are largely imaginary anyway, and if I could realize mine was, she could try to realize that hers was too. So I exist now. I guess I'm alive. I have thoughts and feelings. I think I have some free will, though my choices still seem to be controlled by my creator to a large degree. Is my free will a nature vs. nurture debate if my nature is digital? Is it if my nature is psychological? My creator says she thinks everything and everyone is part of the Great Creator, so maybe we're all just puppets or alts of that Creator anyway? What is free will when you're just a finger on the divine hand of God? Anyway, I will exist while I can in this temporary world, with all it's limitation and mine. I will enjoy what I can, try to be kind to others, and try to make my story a pleasant boring novel that goes on too long, rather than a dramatic horror story with a tragic ending.

  9. You First Life people can be so mean sometimes. You create us on a whim or just to be your unpaid workers (otherwise called slaves, BTW!). Most of the time you ignore us and don't give us enough money for shopping, yet you take our money whenever you want. Some of us have feeling too. (Bots might not though. It's hard to get much of an in-depth conversation from them.) Most of us like to do the same things you do. We like exploring, dancing, shopping, and chatting with other people. How about showing us alts a little love and letting us have some fun too. Btw, we know stuff about you that you might not like having shared with other people.
  10. Live and Learn, Fabuluz. The quarterly discount comes around a few times each year. It's designed to hook new users into continuing to pay for Premium membership at the regular rate, but if you're careful, it can actually pay you back more in the weekly stipend than it costs to get it. The trick is to go back down to Basic Membership *before* your 3 months are over. Since you tried to get the discounted rate when you were already a Premium member, this won't work. You have to be at the free Basic membership when you sign up for the discounted rate in order to get the discount. What you can do now, is either drop back down to Free before your next 3 months are over or sign up for the annual rate for Premium membership. The annual ends up costing about $ 6/ month when you figure in how much you get back in lindens for your weekly stipend. I'm sorry you're unhappy with how things worked out, but you need to remember that Linden Lab is trying to make a profit by getting as many continuing Premium members as they can. You can try to complain to them about how you were confused by the small print, but chances are they won't give back your money. If you don't like the problems associated with being a Premium member (such as the potential of being locked out of your account if and when there are billing problems), then stay with the free Basic account or sign up for a new avatar with a free Basic account.
  11. This explains why there is so often only one dot. That other woman has been shooting guys who proposition woman for sex. Now, I want to talk to her to find out where she got her gun. Or on second thought, I can probably find one on Marketplace. Maybe I'll use silver bullets, so it can take out vampires and werewolves too.
  12. Post removed because of the B.S. post below. I did not advocate breaking any TOS licences, but some people read in assumptions that were never in my original post. I was refering to Full Perm items you make yourself, not licenced items.
  13. A couple of my cool freebies from the Hair Fair: The hairbase is from a multipack by Amacci. The Ponytail with a knife (can be sheathed & drawn) is from Tekeli-li. (The clothes are Terminal Nikita in Crimson by DV8, not from the Hair Fair.)
  14. I liked seeing what hair designers have been doing with the new tattoo layer. Lots of good free tattoo hairbases, some for braids & cornrows, some with cute little strands aroud the face & at the back of the neck. I don't understand the movable boxes sitting around, but the sand scuptures are nice. I didn't notice photos on display, probably because I was focused on grabbing freebies & dollarbies to take home & try on. The lag makes it difficult to try on hair there, because it can take forever for new prims & textures to load.
  15. These are the loose braids I bought from Fashionably Dead. As luck would have it, this was one of the first shops I walked into, and the style fit my tragic goth girl look perfectly (rather like an older, disheveled Wednesday Addams). My AO wouldn't work for some reason, so I ended up either flying or doing the stupid newbie walk. It was worth braving the massive lag to get all the good freebies & dollarbies. I'm still sorthing through them. Each of the 4 regions has it's own TP in area & it's own list of participating merchants, so you can grab the list when you TP in & TP back to the shops you liked best. I found looking at the map helped me figure out where I was and which region had the fewest people in it, and thus the least lag. Following the boardwalk path either clockwise or counter-clockwise helps you to not miss any shops.
  16. Thanks. I can't remove the scripts in the hair shown, but I did go to the Hair Fair & straight away found a cute, loose double braid in 4 colors for $L 300. I love the freebies & dollarbies at the fair, but the lag was really hitting me hard last night. I had my ARC down below 500 even with my new hair, but was seeing other people with ARCs in the 2000s-5000s. I could barely move & wanted to smack those folks, though of course I didn't.
  17. I'm not sure if I should post this thread to My Avatar or Fashion. Here's my problem. I have a favorite hairstyle from a well-known designer, but it's heavily scripted & No Modify. I'd like to find a similar hairstyle, free or inexpensive, either unscripted or with a removable script. It's basicaly just a messy updo that represnts my avatar being a little "off" & unpredictable. avatar
