Human nature undermines the whole idea of civilisation. Our leaders represent only themselves. They are greedy for power, influence & wealth, and they tend to be expansionist, ruthlessly chasing assets such as oil and precious metals. Democracies also try to impose this ideology on others, which is not always culturally acceptable. We moved beyond colonialism, but is the world a better place? I don't think so. Technology, which usually evolves into weapons, is more threatening today than ever. The world is effectively a tribal basket case.

I hung out at NCI Kuula, for a long time and found a mentor who taught me the basics. The forum experts showed me the way with mesh. Without this I wouldn't have stayed. Now I try to help newbies where I can. I enjoy passing forward what I received. The whole thing is so complex that it's hardly surprising so many don't prevail here. But I don't think there's a simple fix, because one size won't fit everybody. We do have a loose fit "Forum Academy" here anyway, with some real experts around. Maybe a new heading here with volunteer mentors would help some, but some newbies still get flamed when they stick their head above the parapet, and this won't keep them in SL will it.

The Blueberry mega packs work brilliantly. Sometimes on brand mix and match, with pants and ankle boots(for example) a colour match will mask poke through.

I don't remember the last time I came across a child avi, or a furry. Very occasionally I see a way out odd avi, but 99%+ of who I see in world are "normal" human avis.

As a UK resident, I always feel more goes on in world "after hours" Most social events seem to kick off after 12noon SLT. However this does mean easier access to shopping events, before The US wakes up. Having said all that, I do well enough for friends outside the UK! My closest friends I met right here on the forums. Always happy to chat in world, but I'm rarely on after 12 noon, and not on every day, sadly.

I hardly get unsolicited tp requests but I had one last week to an adult themed place from a stranger. I like the spider avi solution! I no longer friend so easily, having had a number of needys on my books. It goes like this. Friend...Then instant IMs.....if I can't hang out they log off. They they get squiffy. Then they get defriended, and sometimes blocked. It's happened a lot.

The only sorta bitchy comment I once got from a total stranger who wasn't even on the sim, was "Why do you dress like a middle aged Barbie?" Middle aged??? That's weird Barbie? Well, mission accomplished then!

I have a Bellie houseboat, and a house within walking distance of each other. The sea is navigable, and I can sail between them up a canal if I chose to. The neighbourhood is deserted, which I like. I've rented an island with friends, and it was a lot of fun, but right now we're between rentals. The neighbours there were not really on our wavelength. But that's not why we moved. It was just time.

We have a standing joke about this! I'm big into smart casual, but the others prefer less smart, so I call it dumb. Not as an insult, but as the next layer.😎

I don't come here that much right now, but I've been upgrading to Lelutka Evo, and in one case I tried EvoX. What I've found is that EvoX doesn't appear to be significantly better in appearance than Evo, and the X version needs skin and BoM make up, although appliers still work. I prefer BoM because I like to save my complete outfits so I can do rapid changes, rather than having to revisit appliers with each outfit change. That's just my way. Anyways....from the left and clockwise its Erin Evo, Avalon Evo, Fleur EvoX, Lily Evo.

I pick up new groups on flickr by occasionally surfing the selected groups on posters with large followings or lots of faves.

Most of this stuff goes way over my head, in the stratosphere in fact, but whatever the next big thing is in VR, it will need to be extraordinary to tempt me away from SL. And don't ask me what extraordinary even looks like.
