Where do people post their SL pictures these days?

These days both Koinup and Snapzilla seem to be down to about half a dozen heavy users, with occasional pictures posted by others such as me. I know some people use Flickr and Instagram and then there's always our profile feeds but what photo sharing sites do you think are best for SL images?

I use Flickr for now, but when I hit the maximum allowed on a free account, I will probably look for somewhere else.

Profile feeds are pretty useless, you can only post raw snapshots taken real-time in world, and they are a maximum 1024 x 768. You can't take a larger pic, edit it and re-upload it.

I delete old pictures to make room for new ones. This gets harder as by now most of the marginal ones are gone already.

After the Flickr announcement, I think I'm going to limit photo posting to my blog. I don't take as many as most and it seems redundant to post the same pictures to both accounts.

Was there an announcement recently? What's changed?

The trouble with Wordpress, Blogger etc, is that you still need an external site to host your pics. I did this for a while but gave up because it was just too tedious to upload every pic into 2 or 3 different places.

I use Blogger, but I don't have to use an external site. I upload from my computer and have for years.

I must've missed it, too. What has Flickr users in a tizzy now?

You may not post a picture and put links in its description that contains either A) a SLURL for an in-world store, B) the marketplace or D) a blog where either of the two can be found. They call all of it 'commercial use', for which you must have a 'Pro' account; so no advertising - or blogging - unless you cough up the fee.

That makes sense to me. If you're using their platform to advertise, you should be paying for advertising. I've got the pro account so maybe I didn't get the message about the change, but it seems perfectly fair to me.

Sure, it's their platform, they can do whatever they want with it.

Still, that doesn't change the fact that the platform no longer is the best option for the SL community - and not only because of them chasing free users off of the platform, but because the platform itself has gone down the dumps. It's been largely abandoned by many professional photographers because of the stability issues, and a lot of users have left it because of the vast amounts of pornography that seeps into just about every community on there.

Flickr has even been on the verge of being shut down due to how much money they're losing. How they can afford administrators to chase people who link to a blog on which there's a SLURL to a store, but haven't put anywhere near enough effort into the platforms stability, I'd call that bad prioritization.

Flickr, but now that they keep jacking up the price for a Pro account, along with this week's new thing about "oh someone else is handling our billing now and it's a hot mess", I'm going back and deleting a bazillion old pics so I can downgrade to a free account rather than renew Pro. Not sure where I'll post after that, probably still Flickr but just fewer pics so I can keep under the 1000 limit.

On a side note, going through my old stuff, it is amazing to me how many old photos feature @Madelaine McMasterssetting me on fire.
