Now is the perfect time.  They recently released a new major upgrade for Blender (2.8), and there's lots of "Learn Blender 2.8!" tutorials out there.  So, you can learn along with just about everybody else, you won't just be playing catch-up.

Thanks, Lindal. I am aware of that and that it is a perfect opportunity with new Blender - I even have it installed - but it is never enough time :) Although I really hope to make some time for that finally.

Oh and very occasionally I use one of my alts for pictures.

I suppose I'm different......although my first alt was created to test mesh and appliers, I really enjoyed having her as.....well, an alternative. In time I meshed her up and gave her a wardrobe and she made friends.

That process was so much fun that I did it all over again, and the same thing happened. We go out together either two or three of us, and I enjoy the challenge of what that entails. Although I don't hide the fact they are alts, I rp each one and maintain my immersion.

The next one, and maybe the last was because friends were saying if I made another they would know it was me. I fooled a few with Skye. Yesterday I spent my whole session in SL with Skye, clubbing, and on the beach, and it was a lot of fun.

In my head I keep a list of who comes on next and what clothes they need, and so on. Sometimes I don't get in world for two or three days. It has become my way of working SL.

I am an ALT of a main, but became the main.

Other then the two of us, we have various sisters. All of them live a different Second Life. Different Friends, different jobs/purpose, different behaviour  and so on.

Main: CEO of SLA Media and ex escort girl. Writes about her adventures since ages. Now starting a new project, writing about blogging as such as well as about how to market a blog and make money with it..

I write about the active ALTS as well:

A. *****ty mature Lady in her late 40ties, working as a waitress to make some tips (she doesn't need much money). Mainly discovering and researching very naughty and kinky stuff in Second Life, the stuff people would talk about in hushed voices.

B. Young sassy girl working in our customer service department at SLA Media. She got once seduced and drawn into our escort business, but then left it. Not her thing.  Instead mentores noobs about sex in Second Life and does adult region reviews (especially hotels). Has a bit of a thing for married guys.

C. Black very hot escort girl. Does sex only if she gets paid well for it. Has all the bells and whistles guys would expect.

D. New girl. Somebody gifted this exteremly well done avatar to me. She will be working in sales at SLA Media. Part time bar keeper as well.

E. Teenager.

Thats what I do, living several lifes, not just a second one.

I am very good to my alts. They have a little skybox of their very own so they have a "home" to log in to (because I don't want them clattering around in mine), and I put a few Linden bears in there to keep them company. I even let them all go to the most recent SLB (just to get them all freebie avatars, but still, it was an outing!).

Mine do get to set their home to my Mainland parcel so they don't end up in an info hub somewhere - and they have my kitties and doggies and other critters as company there.

Well, except for the few alts that are specifically not part of my land group for testing non-group stuff -- their home is the dock of the Forum Cartel Hangout.

Well, I used to have two premium accounts to cover my tier but when they doubled the land allotment I didn't need two anymore.  But I didn't cancel the other premium account right away because I used the old linden homes to park my minions while they played TE(tiny empires).  I used to use them all as my subjects when I play TE.  But I'm bored with that now so most of them are not doing anything. and I finally got around to canceling the other premium account when LL raised the rates.  The only one who gets any use now is my music alt who just goes from blues club to blues club looking for DJs I enjoy listening to while I work.

I am an alt.  I have a few alts from my days of roleplaying in a sim but once the sim closed I dont use them as much.   I have tried to put them in different groups And do different things...like one is a furry, vampire, lesbian, etc.  My main avatar is in an exclusive relationship while i play on this one.

Same. But I heard something about someone selling their accounts whether it's an alt or main and I have considered doing that with a few alts that I randomly made out of boredom still in legacy bodies.

Well, there's this extract from section 4.1 of LL's ToS.  What you risk after reading this is up to you.  "You may not sell, transfer or assign your Account or its contractual rights, licenses and obligations, to any third party (including, for the avoidance of doubt, permitting another individual to access your Account) without the prior written consent of Linden Lab. Linden Lab reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to manage and control the number of Accounts that you may establish and maintain".

@Okami Aquila, please pay attention to what Garnet said!  Besides being against the Terms of Service, selling or transferring an account to another person is very hazardous.  In order to do this, you're going to have to give another person, whom you don't know, access to your email address, password (which you maybe use elsewhere), and personal information like your date of birth.

I reached another milestone yesterday. Up to now,  on the rare occasion I've run four viewers, I had Firestorm and the SL viewer on each of my laptops.

Yesterday, I ran two viewers on each laptop, and it improved performance, although my old laptop does struggle.

But certainly, two Firestorms on my recent laptop is manageable easily.

Each of my alts takes on a different theme.

I buy mostly only fullperms kits for clothes, not to sell, but just to be able to dress my alts at less expense...

Some of them, I have purposefully scrambled the passwords on and removed all traces from my system so that I would eventually forget about them.

I wish there was a system to 'delete' one so you could hand the name back for others to use. There is no reason to not have this - we're referenced by a UUID in the code, so theyshould be able to just hack that and replace the name of a given UUID with 'deletedaccount' - and thereby allow someone else to make a character of that name...

I know a LOT of people took every name they could think of the day single usernames came out thinking there was no way it would be permanent and incorrectly thinking LLs would recycle names of accounts you tossed back... a whole lot of good usernames got zapped out due to that, and that is indeed a few of my alts that I would love to have a legit way to hand back...
