hey guys im a noobie here so lets get straight to the point i ve been researching the ways of making lidens on the game all over the the internet and im happy to say i found a lots of useful guides but there are some of the methods are not available or is gone. theres the methods and suggestion i used and consider during my time here :

Quote

Slackers : there was a coffee shop that was paying servants 3L$ every 10minutes but this method is gone.no more here

Voodoo hud : is decent if your the lucky one getting most of the pot money but people waste their times like 1h - 3h farming only 6L$ (if the voodoo is over crowded)

Vault : waiting for your appropriate letter to finally get paid or win a low % Jackpot can take you hours of wait and i noticed that letter C never appeared on the vault i was online 26hours just to check the rate of The letters thats how i cofigured that out.

Fishing : i tried it and it takes an eternity to gather 100$ from there

liden realms : collecting is easy you agree yah ? well the rare gems are much harder to find  can you can spend 3 days farmings and you still would not fine the rare ones and transform it into lidens and it wouldnt give you very much.

gold hunt : i havent actually tried it but my friends told it sucks big deal and that they would prefer doing the fishgame instead of this

despite all the cons i still use the Voodoo Hud and the Vault are still my primary ways of making some cash in the game after the Slackers way was removed.

yes i do use my Paypal to buy lidens but i dont  want to waste real money on a game when my car gas tank is running out of fuels.like all other people do i prefer saving it

Surveys, Surfing Sites & Web Offer :  everyone probably do surveys and said they get good money from them might be true but this Method Never worked for me as it isnt available in my country and offers are all taken or unavailable :

Quote

Non of them worked for me.

getting JOB In SL: i im and applied to 40 - 60 Owners and Applications for a Job but i never got a reply as they said they are only looking for Girls over guys

a friend suggested me to do escort jobs on an alt but i didnt because its inapproiate and im a guy and its too weird.

i would be very grateful if you guys share some good money making alternatives with decent  pay:

and oh i just joined the 3d modeling to make stuff for sl chars on my free time at home will it be beneficial for me to make clothings and stuffs for sl ?

and im not using lidens for real money in RL its for the game use only

Being a creator or having a service-based SL business (land buying and selling business / renting, stream provider, etc) are still the most profitable ways to earn Linden Dollar.

Doing art / script / 3D model commissions can be profitable too if you're comfortable doing them, can do them efficiently and enjoy them. And since it seems like you already know most other ways to earn Lindens, there's almost no other way of earning Lindens that I can think of telling you which you probably don't know already. But I do have some tips;

Being a male escort can be profitable and is not universally "awkward", even though it might be harder to find customers, there are totally people who are willing to pay for male escorts

And if you do decide to be a creator and sell the stuff you made, make stuff that you personally enjoy making / using which market you're familiar with. Learn, do things right and be patient.

Also, since you said you're only gonna use your Lindens for inworld uses, doing things like Voodoo / Bleta can be profitable enough for inworld uses if you do them with multiple alts (your main doing voodoo while your alt does Bleta, for example).

Just keep in mind that RL jobs are most likely the most time-efficient way for you to get Linden Dollar, and the saying "don't want to spend RL money for SL" is moot if you're still gonna spend time working on SL to earn money anyway since time spent is time spent.

Cheers and good luck c=

Back when I was allowed in the realms if you were good at it a few hours realming could net you L$200-250 across all the crystal colours. If you are having trouble finding blue and green crystals their rezz rate is 3 hours and 90 minutes respectively from when they were last collected other users of the realms often set them selves up to prevent them from rezzing so they can get them when the coast is clear, which may be why you couldn't find any. If I remember right you land in LR 8 LR 28 etc where you can turn your red, yello & orange crystals for L$

Oh yes all those high paying jobs that get you 50 cents rl money an hour.

You don't need any money to enjoy second life.

I'll even give you 10 L to upload a profile picture if u don't have one, and you'll be all set.

I'm sure you have some things u do in rl for entertainment that cost money.

As someone else said, buy one  less crapachino from starbucks and you'll have enough Lindens for a month

Blue-Green-Edge-Hopping was only really profitable back before they fixed the "able to teleport in a no teleport area" bug on Linden Realm 1, and if you used Firestorm with the Area Search and the instant tp to found items...

The bugs fixed, some years ago, so now edge-hopping for blues and greens is a mugs game.

SMART rock hunters look for the lesser colours, and with practice and understanding, you can make 40-50 l$ an hour without ever seeing a blue or a green.

Out of the various vault/camping/coin hunts/cone hunts/fish hunts, the Realms STILL offers the best payout.

Jobs... Jobs in SL come in 3 flavours...

1. Earn naff all parking your avi on a pose stand as a live human traffic bot (badly payed, earn more in the Realms).

2. Use aquired inworld skills to do stuff most people can't do, like building, or sim security, management, etc (rare).

3. Sex worker (readiy available positions, generalls pays more than most of the hunts or unskilled jobs, and more than some of the skilled jobs, as it is a skilled job it's self).

making curently 100 to 300 daily (depending on event frequency) in fishing games I strongly disagree with you ;) The key is events - I never fish without one (not entirely true but it is much slower).

How many minutes do you have to work in real life to earn $5 (or the equivalent in your country's currency)?

Here in the UK the National Minimum Wage for those aged over 25 is £7.83 ($10.39) so let's approximate half an hour's real life work as the answer to my above question.

At the current LindeX rate, $5 will buy you L$1,250.

just_buy_it.png.8a88746d7d0fc726aa5cf11022c17d1c.png

Let's break that down using various methods of obtaining that L$1,250, from both real life work and the examples given in your options for inworld earning:

  • Real Life work = 30 minutes
  • The now-extinct Slackers Coffee Shop at L$3/10m = 69.5 hours
  • The Voodoo HUD, taking a generous median of 2hrs to farm L$4 (allowing for times when the HUD is not overcrowded) = 625 hours
  • Vault = more than 26 hours with the capriciousness of chance for your letter to turn up, thereby winning a "low percentage jackpot"
  • Fishing = 12.5 x "an eternity"
  • Linden Realms = more than 3 days to get "not very much"
  • Gold Hunt = forget it

Hmm, so what would seem like the easiest option?

$5-worth of petrol/gas in the car or putting that $5 into "a game"?

Eventually, it all depends on how much this 'game' means to you. If it means nothing then carry on working tens - even hundreds - of hours for peanuts. The best way to earn 'free money' in SL - Money Trees - has long passed. Those days were ten years ago, and it was easy to earn a few hundred in an hour or so of visiting a 'round' of a dozen money trees.

Then get yourself a female alt, kit her out absolutely free (you can get a full mesh body and head from some of the gift places - there's a free Altamura female mesh body and head at one of the Brazilian infohubs - and there's a crapton of free female content on the Marketplace) and apply for non-escort (since that's important to you) jobs using your female avatar.

Yes, if you can learn how to do it. Depending on which program you use (If you're skint IRL then you'll probably be using Blender, so check out BornCG on YouTube for great tutorials that start from scratch for absolute beginners) but be aware that if you want to create items to sell in SL you'll still need to have an initial outlay of L$ for upload fees. Texture and mesh uploads cost L$, and you need payment info on file in order to open your own Marketplace store.

Hosting and DJing in SL is kind of a crapshoot :-). DJing also has incumbent expenses like having your own music stream, buying music and a streaming platform like SAM broadcaster - so I’ll talk about hosting.

Males *do* get hired as hosts at night-spots in SL if you stay away from the places that are specifically marketing sl sex with female escorts. If you want to Host, you need to do some prep (meaning spend some RL$ on your avatar)....

~Have a shape thats not an SL “cartoon male” with a tiny head on an over-muscled body.

~A mesh body and head will help, but are not mandatory, but a good skin really helps on a Standard Avatar.

~Invest in a Host Tool that will privately alert you when people arrive so you can greet them. Greet them yourself; don’t let the robo-tool do it. The tool is there to help you avoid missing people and offending them, not to be the host itself.

~Clothes and shoes.  You want to dress for the clientele of the place you hope to be working at.

~SL Social Skills. Get comfortable talking to people and making the DJ look good. The DJ will draw dots that tip, so the Host should really focus on meeting people, building a Friends list and making the guests feel like they are appreciated. Happy Guests tip (with the exception of some RL global demographics and some SL ones). Flirt a little, but don’t do Romance at work as it causes drama.

~Work at a venue where the clientele is not all New Residents. Thats nothing against New Residents - but people who have lasted in Sl a while usually have the capacity to tip better. If you Host at multiple venues, by all means spend time working someplace that lets you mentor new people; but make sure your “money gig” is someplace that draws well-heeled traffic.

All told, Hosting is something to do if you enjoy being social in SL. You might earn L$500+ per event or nothing, depending on traffic and skill and you have to re-invest in your avie. There really is no easy money in Sl (just like RL).......

That is so well said, if you don't mind, I'm going to link your post in my inworld tutorial about jobs at the Moth Temple infohub. In RL, the Mechanical Turk on Amazon is hella hard to do, very very difficult to break into to earn anything approximating real money. Maybe in third-world countries this is worth it, but not in the West, your electricity and Internet bill costs more than you can make. That's what these "earn money" schemes on SL remind me of.

I'm surprised people aren't mentioning land sales and rentals. This does take some study and some initial cash to get started, but really, you can start very small and it's fun and interesting.

What I tell customers is, get two less of the Crown Royale Cold Foam Cascara Cold Brews at Starbuck's this month, which costs about $4.50 plus tax each, and instead, buy 2500 Lindens for about $10.50 US and feel like a big spender.

I just wanted to note that for some of us, it isn't (wasn't) about spending RL money, it was a task that we set for ourselves -- for our own "game" within a "game". I camped for my money for uploads, learned and created and earned a bit and did some photography gigs and camped or gathered crystals - LOL.  So while it certainly IS easier just to buy what you need , sometimes there just isn't that sense of accomplishment.

OH, and then there were the money trees and dance contests and bull riding !!!  Good times.

I think it was much easier way back when we joined to get L$ without buying them.  As you mentioned, there were money trees and camping for L$, neither of which exists anymore.  Now there are some inworld games (that seem to have gotten harder lately) and working for the L$ (though you'll need to spend L$ to upgrade your avi for most jobs, a nice catch-22 there).

I found money trees but they are apparently out of order. :( Camping is rare but it is still around.

Is there ever any camping for L$ anymore?  I see camping periodically for store merchandise.  I actually still do the camping now and then if I like the item - good time to sort inventory.

Yes it is, but extremely rare. And the rates are horrible like 5L an hour (and those are the better ones)

this is kinda where I am at myself. Game within a game. Is it possible to live in the world. in my case live means: Earn enough inworld to have a home and stuff and do this without having a shop of any kind

My home is SL is a 560m, I pay 200L a week for it. When I first came to the sim there was a quite a whole bunch of rent signs, and no renters, just me.  I got to know the sim owner and his partner. I start to make suggestions about what can work and what isn't working. After a time we end up redesign the whole sim which I ended up build/mount most of myself after lots of discussion with the sim owner and partner. This satisfied my own creative impulses. The rebuild was based on what do they want to live in and not what they think other ppl might want to live in. We now have 18 ppl live on the sim. Ppl who came because they liked the same environment as the sim owner and partner. This is the key I think. Build what makes you happy, and don't build for what you think others might like

the sim owner wanted to pay me for the work. I said nah! is no need for them to pay me, is not necessary. But now that its done I wouldn't mind a mesh body and this skin. So I got that. He also said I can live free. I say nah! Why nah!. For my work I got a whole home sim made the way I like it. 200L a week for a whole sim looking the way I like is pretty good value and I got now 17 other ppl living with me also when before was only 3 of us

about 200L for a 560m. Compared to RL this is really cheap, labour hours wise

on the Linden Realms I can earn 50-60L an hour when work hard. So about 4 hours a week to pay the rents.  In my RL it costs me about 16 hours to pay for a lesser space

Sex camping (AFK) is whats being done mostly. The traditional camping at a store with those camp chairs is hardly seen anymore, and not really profitable either. (not that AFKing is always proffitable, but can be)

If you want to earn money for the sake of earning money in SL: don't. Get a job IRL. It's orders of magnitudes more efficient for the time and energy you invest in it it. E.g.: don't earn L$ by sitting somewhere. The L$ you earn, will be spent many times over because of the electricity you have wasted on it. Bitcoin mining would probably be more profitable. Earn your money outside SL and just spend it inside SL. Unless you have a brilliant idea to make or do something that'll revolutionize the way we spend time in a virtual world. Like inventing and selling AniMesh Pubic Hair, or Breedable Sex Toys or write and direct virtual musicals with massive casts and decors, like Giuseppe Verdi did IRL.

fishing events are special events in the fishing game that pay a multiplicator instead of the random amount that will get you ~10L per hour (-3 for baits)* you will be able to get a random amount *n with n being a number set by the organizer... so you can make ~100L an hour in a *10 event (-3 for baits)*

*empirical average across al the games I know they actually differ in income and bait cost but 10L an hour seems a good estimate to me
