It sounds like LL support is using two-factor authentication which is basically to just verify once with your username and password and verify second with your other user-information. The reasoning behind this is that a hacker could get your password but it's unlikely that they will know your secondary information. It's just extra security. Be sure that you are talking to LL support by going directly to the website. It seems that Lindall has answered your question too...

I honestly do not post to get likes. I do appreciate it but it is unlooked for. One thing I noticed on the forums is that the OP, the person starting a thread, usually doesn't get any likes for the starting post. Posting replies gets likes but starting threads does not. Weird huh?

I've done this several times. I don't abandon my old accounts. Lately I have refreshed an older account instead of creating a brand new account (cause my old account has a last name). On the refresh, I get rid of the old inventory and erase the profile before restarting with a new mesh body and wardrobe.

I suggested this before but it hasn't been implemented by LL; Add a right click option to detach all and delete folder. There are too many mouse clicks needed to do things. Maybe a macro creator where I could create the function I need and add it to my right click menu or a keyboard shortcut.

Could this be a cultural thing? I was watching a video of differences between France and America where they said that Americans can start chatting with people standing next to them and are good at making small talk. I heard in the Scandinavian countries people never talk to each other.

I like conversation in SL. I can talk about RL but not specific things that could show my location. I tend to keep quiet unless talked to though. I did try being very outgoing on one avatar and it was fun. What I learned was that the super beautiful didn't speak much. The plain/ugly/weird avatars were more willing to chat.

I recall seeing an ad for SL recently while reading an news article on some random website. I remember thinking ,"Wow, SL is has an actual ad!" It's a good thing that there was an ad but a bad thing that it is so infrequent that seeing one is memorable.
