It looks like the item was ended in 2013. It's surprising that an Amazon account could be linked to an SL account back then. LL had to tighten up it's linden dollar purchasing rules because of money laundering problems.

Things you wished your viewer

Wish I could load EEP setting automatically in the SL viewer. -
The healing power of fried chicken
Bree Giffen replied to TheydonBois's topic in General Discussion Forum
If you bring home the KFC, cut it into pieces, cut the biscuit into pieces, set everything out on a plate, you can eat it in a civilized manner with a fork and build in SL without getting your mouse and keyboard all greasy. I think a pizza is a more traditional eat-in-front-of-computer type of food. -
Problems moving, staying in SL ... etc
Bree Giffen replied to PhilGalaxi's topic in General Discussion Forum
Well you've certainly given a lot of clues. I just tried disabling my network card while logged into SL (on the default LL viewer) and I couldn't move and the client logged me out 5 minutes later. I'm guessing that you are losing your internet connection or it becomes so degraded that the viewer can't talk to the server for a certain amount of time. It likely has nothing to do with avatar size or rendering. Your computer seems powerful enough. I would check with your provider and whatever web site they have to check the status and whatever tools they give you to diagnose your problems. 5G is a new technology so your provider may be figuring this out as well. Maybe they need to install more antennas in your neighborhood. -
I see it. Sexy Disco Life. It will be glorious.

I need help! My female human avatar laid an egg!

Make a giant omelette! Mmmm. With ketchup on top. -
Would you date your avatar?
Bree Giffen replied to Gopi Passiflora's topic in General Discussion Forum
I had a nightmare of a giant seven foot tall Bree sitting quietly outside my bedroom. So... no. (Never build a 1:1 scale recreation of your bedroom in SL) -
Interesting news related to SL
Bree Giffen replied to Bree Giffen's topic in General Discussion Forum
People get divorced and remarried all the time so I don't really judge the situation. I felt as if this was the kind of sensational article you'd read about SL back in the day. It's the kind of news that makes people go 'tsk tsk!' and then quietly join SL. -

Ooh! I found a good one. Novigender - a gender that is super complex and impossible to describe in a single term.

Is the Universe a computer simulation?
Bree Giffen replied to rasterscan's topic in General Discussion Forum
The universe is much more complicated than being a computer simulation. We, as humanity, are simply choosing to understand it using the newest thinking that has been discovered. The universe as a computer simulation certainly seems like intellectual thinking compared to what people in previous centuries thought, e.g. a god created the universe. In the future when even grander theories of existence are created, we will try applying those to the universe as well. -
SL requires too much graphics rendering power for any kind of business. Essentially you'd have to give all employees a gaming computer, most likely gaming laptop, at a premium price. Productivity would go way down because everyone will be secretly gaming and the network bandwidth would get used by people playing MMOs. I've seen it happen.

Introducing Personal Lighting
Bree Giffen replied to Rider Linden's topic in Environmental Enhancement Project
Can we have a a checkbox in the official Linden viewer to 'reapply current windlight at login' ? Like how Firestorm has it? I don't see an option and from testing it appears the setting always reverts to the shared environment. There are many areas in SL, such as the mainland, where no special environment lighting has been set. If I log in to these areas, the process to switch to a previous windlight involves mousing to very specific drop down menus and right-clicking on an environment icon. Having to do this at every single log-in can become a bit repetitive. Or we can all just install the Firestorm viewer I suppose. -
HEY GRANDPA! WHAT'S FOR SUPPER?
Bree Giffen replied to Tolya Ugajin's topic in General Discussion Forum
My meal choices are a bit different from the usual as my grocery shopping was a little strange this week. I wore a mask and lined up before getting inside. The store even warned everyone to keep their distance from each other. Today I had breakfast of small wheat bagels topped with pepper jack cheese and crispy bacon. Delicious. The store only had small bagels and giant loaves of bread cut thick like Texas toast. I also had roast chicken for lunch from the same grocery. It was a whole spatchcocked bird. Tonight I might have some tamales which I normally buy hot but this week only the refrigerated version was available. -
http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Third_Party_Viewer_Directory Here are the other SL viewer clients that you can use. Radegast is a text only viewer so it doesn't use any of your graphics card's resources. It's useful if you don't make your alt move around that much. You can also just install a different graphical viewer and set it to minimum graphic detail. Having two different viewers allows you to quickly launch the alt without having to change the login or settings.

Anyone encountered really mean people on here?
Bree Giffen replied to Axel UwU's topic in General Discussion Forum
Truly mean people could possibly be psychopaths, sociopaths, or narcissists. You cannot change their behavior or expect them to ever improve. -
One thing about a skybox is you don't need land that looks good on the ground. You can get a parcel with barren rocks, a steep mountain, badly designed houses nearby, etc. Sometimes these parcels are sold or rented at a lower price because of this.

I just got the notice to work from home! Happy to not ride public transit in such dangerous times but I'll miss the fast internet access. There are too many hurdles to use SL for business meetings. Corporations need easy to use and sterile environments. Maybe an art company or a young staff would try it.

I think I understand the reasoning to @animats suggestion. Recreating iconic images can be good advertising. I don't think following the image exactly is necessary because the world isn't like that and neither is SL. My suggestion would be to simply show wholesome images of SL residents doing things they normally do in SL which is kind of what @Prokofy Neva and @lucagrabacr have suggested recently.

Coronavirus Response in SL Communities
Bree Giffen replied to Bree Giffen's topic in General Discussion Forum
Ok. I get it. Not only is this "too soon", it's "while it's happening". I actually wrote those jokes on the subway surrounded by masked people. I guess I truly am an SL immersionist who keeps my RL and SL separate. To all, my apologies. I didn't realize how badly it is going around the country and around the world. I hope you and all you love get through this and feel better.- 189 replies
