  1. Hi all! Thanks for your patience on this issue. As I'm sure many of you know, fixing issues that appear to be small can end up being a big deal and issues that appear to be able to be fixed quickly can take some time. Also, getting the right resources to work on a particular issue can be tricky as the engineers have other projects they are working on, some with extremely tight deadlines for many reasons. That being said, it looks like the issue is now resolved. Again, thanks for your patience on this one!
  2. Hey all, Thank you to those who have offered constructive criticism on this topic. This thread has runs its course and since it has devolved into some inappropriate posts, I am going to close it. If you do have suggestions on product improvements, please visit our Feedback portal: https://feedback.secondlife.com/ Thanks!
  3. Hi all! While I do enjoy reading your postulations on why phones and chat are offline this week, most of support is actually in professional development this week. We do have some folks manning tickets as well as governance, otherwise the rest of the team is in our development sessions. Thanks for your understanding this week, and we will get to your tickets as quickly as we can. 😃
  4. The Google Play Store's "Parental Guidance Recommended" rating, which is indicated by an exclamation mark, suggests that parents consider if an app is appropriate for children under 18. Parents can also use parental controls to restrict what content can be downloaded or purchased from Google Play on an Android device based on maturity level. These controls can be set up for each device and type of content. Additionally, you must already have an active, age appropriate Second Life account in order to use the app. All the same Maturity Rating guidelines are still applicable and enforced, as stated here
  5. Hey brodiac90, like I said before we did not put an age limit on that point intentionally. A good deal of what we look for when reviewing an abuse report is intent, and we're really trying hard not to be heavy handed with this because we truly don't want to stifle anyone's creativity. I'm not going to address specific cases for the reasons I have mentioned in several places before. I think everyone can use their best judgement in situations like this, and if a report comes in we will first be looking at educating and informing (both for the resi and for ourselves) unless there is a clear TOS or CS violation found in the investigation.
  6. Hi all, I just wanted to address the topic of kidcore that has come up a few times. The question relates specifically to kidcore products, not the aesthetic itself (this question specifically came from questions sent in for the Roundtable). The response given was in regard to the products themselves, not those who engage in the role play. I hope that helps to clear that topic up.
  7. Hi brodiac90! Thanks for the question. We left this broad because age can be difficult to determine. So, if you are role playing as under 18 this would apply.
  8. Hi Everyone! I just wanted to pop in here really quickly to thank everyone who attended yesterday and to apologize to those that were not able to get into the regions (we may have set a record for largest user group attendance!). I also wanted to let you all know that if Tommy and I did not get to your question yesterday, it did not go unnoticed. The volume of questions and concerns you all brought to that meeting spoke volumes to your dedication to and admiration of Second Life and the various communities you represented. And, although it felt a little warm up on that stage, it was extraordinary to see this outpouring of concern and I was happy to have been in that hot seat. It's going to take us a bit to go through the questions we were not able to answer right away, and I have a few ideas on how to continue conversations that I will be working through in the next few weeks. Mostly, I wanted to say that even though Tommy and I weren't able to address every question they were seen and will be considered with updates made to the FAQ page as we are able. I only ask that you extend the same patience you showed with us yesterday while we work through these questions and concerns. I promise you, we are listening, we are reading and we are focused on doing what is right to protect all of our communities.
  9. Hi Cristiano, this was addressed in the first blog post. Specifically "As owner of Linden Lab, I have initiated a thorough investigation, both internally and with external partners, to review whether or not there have been any violations of our company and community policies by employees, contractors, or community members. " Today's blog post is the result of the conclusion of those investigations.
  10. Hi 👋 I'll be answering questions as I can here in the thread or adding to the FAQ
  11. Hi all! I'm gonna admit that I haven't read every comment on here yet but I will be doing so shortly and responding where I can. Just a few things first: The only change to the Terms and Conditions is the update to the Child Avatar Policy The FAQ is a living doc, which means we know it is in no way complete right now. As questions come up here and through Support, we'll be adding more questions and answers to hopefully help clarify some of the changes.
  12. Hi @Cain Maven Firstly, let me say that I am glad you were able to resolve this issue in a secure manner. I completely understand your trepidation at responding to an email with sensitive information such as your SSN, and I would have been suspicious of that as well. My apologies for the discomfort this caused you, and I have worked with the Tilia team about this and we have put in place an improved practice going forward so that we can create a better, more secure path forward when issues such as this arise. Linden Lab is dedicated to handling personally identifiable information in a safe, secure manner and ensuring that our processes align with the highest standards of data protection to keep our Residents protected. I appreciate you bringing this up, and don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have further questions on this issue.
  13. sshhhhh, don't give away my tactics. 😆
  14. Hey y'all! For those of you wondering where we all are .... here we are. 😜
