  1. I'm not into this, so no idea how easy, but I think if you crossed the line to rip an UUID form a system layer it's just a small step towards ripping a texture from a mesh ...
  2. Some designers offer gacha exchanges for copy enabled items and a "buy full set copy enabled" option, but there is still quite a bit out there produced on regular basis... You know, there are some bad tongues who say "gachas are items that were found to bad for a regular mainstore/event release"
  3. No, as I use FS and it takes ages there. ... Hell, even Media on a Prim is faster
  4. They call it .... copyright Scripts in items for building might be an idea but by the way people figured out out how to push scripts into items most also will have learned how to transfer a graph paper dsign to object properties (there's coordinates, you know?) Worst thing is: most people would simple leave the scripts in the items polluting server script memory with unused scripts...
  5. I never looked at it that way, ... now that explains all the bad driving I see
  6. Swaps are one step up from giveaways, and I'm pretty sure trading for Lindens wold not be allowed outside of the wanted section...
  7. ... and they post that all across SL Forums
  8. Why didn't you try another viewer then? After all FS is not the official one, and there are many more third party products which are much more lightweight.
  9. Oh my I might be late for this, do you ahve any jay one left?
  10. I see, so you want to pull a Bill Murray on the ghophers moles?
  11. If it isn' t compatible it will be DOA as not many (well the usual fashion victims aside) will go and buy a second bento head...
  12. But wouldn't it be fun to see all those pesky sailboats in GTFO put into their place by a convoy of 18-wheelers?
  13. I already blacklisted the adboards at some clubs I visit... speeds up SL a great deal... (please don't overdo them club owners... we understand you need to cut your losses but if you begin slowing me down even more than a certain skin shop I will remove this texturegeddon from my rig's chores)
  14. Ah no, it will also be helpful for someone who has bought a bad car and has trouble staying one a one lane road while riding at full speed... PS: I own hundreds if not thousands of SL vehicles, my favourites are few though, as most drive like hell, maybe the problem lies in this direction
  15. Yes my friend got it to, she even was curious enough to open it in a noscript sandbox (don't do it at home, kids, leave that stuff to the weird programmers in the basement er professionals) and it contains SURPRISE! a no mod script you could not read... (now who would have supsected that one?) file an abuse report with a screenshot with item properties on the accout of last owner (who sent it to you, right click last owner and select report to do so) Now here's the bad catch: last owner could be another victim, when you wear the item it could as well (owner now is you, remember?) send out replicas of itself to all around you...
  16. I guess the Lindens slowly realize that too ... if they auction all away it only goes to become adland badlands
  17. to be fair that can happen to you in the US too
  18. lldie() de-rezzes an object, it "dies" (goes to garbage) the particles it generated fade away and no new ones are generated (because the generating object is now gone).
  19. I doubt we are a big enough audience to be worth those studies... after all they cost. So going with your guts might be not a bad idea here, economical speaking.
  20. Not sure if needed, unless you plan on using towboats. AFAIK objects that are sat upon do not count as "object entry", example: If I pull my train into a private parcel connected to the SLRR network which has "object entry " disabled, my locomotive and me will go in, my trailing wagons however will crash against invisible parcel border wall. If you plan on allowing automated vehicles like Javapods move through you will need to enable it though.
  21. There are some scripts that can make items go temp after a time. But all my phyiscal weapons have temporary prim bullets... ... I'll inspect it and report back (that is open it and rez it's contents in a save "no script" sandbox) UPDATE: The script contains a colission trigger and at the end of the collision sequence is the command lldie() which makes it go poof,... If you plan on using your own adaptation you can try if making the projectile a temp object (just check checkbox) leaves you enough time to play your sound sequence (would be even saver for the littering aspect that way)
