  1. I was going for a degree in Communications and the way I learned it is this way, albeit: a *very* simplified explanation: There are (basically) three writing styles. Formal, Semi-formal, and casual. Formal is most often used in business and with unknown strangers; people you cannot see. For example, an instructional notecard. In business communicating with customers should usually be in a formal style, even if they are not. Formal is with full proper grammar and full, correct punctuation, and rarely uses truncations or contractions; every word is spelled out entirely. Semi-formal is similar to formal, though a bit more relaxed. Full proper grammar is not necessarily a requirement and a few contractions are often used. Punctuation is always there. An example of when to use semi-formal may be business-to-customer or loose acquaintances, and so on. Casual is what you use with well-known others, family, close friends, etc. Punctuation in writing is still a best practice, but in any live chat, it's not so necessary. Then there is the annoying fourth type: Many millennials use it, mostly because they have grown on it though telephone texting, then use it when it isn't necessary and shouldn't be used. The primary example is the substitution of alphabet characters for actual words, 0.5 points if they at least capitalize those characters. We call this the "Simple education and lazy mind" style of writing. This description is especially fitting if this style is used in pre-written ext, such as an instructional notecard.
  2. If Copy is checked (Turned ON) then you can turn Transfer ON or OFF. If Copy is turned OFF, Transfer is forced to ON. If Transfer is off, then Copy is forced to ON. If you want to create No-Modify, No-Copy, and No Transfer, then put a No-Modify/No-Copy item inside the object and set the object to No-Modify, No-Transfer. Freudian slip? transfer checkbox is never clickable when copy checkbox is unchecked.
  3. It's inexpensive first, and second, most, not all, creators of add-ons and apparel always include a Lara version in their offerings, many exclusively. Though I don't have any problems finding these things for my other bodies, it does take a little 'verification research" before purchase (which most should do, even if your main is a Lara.)
  4. If you are wearing a mesh body: Ensure that your are wearing the system "Alpha" object, should look like a shirt icon. Ensure you are not wearing two copies of the same mesh body at the same time. These are the only things I can think of with the limited description you are providing. Hopefully, it's only one of these issues.

    Body shine

All the Belleza female bodies have this, so I would presume the Male body does also. Have to considered trying s DEMO?
  6. Perhaps, though she could have actually *mentioned* this. Either way, there is nothing there of value for experienced SL users, it's written for newer SL users and amazingly ambiguous at best.
  7. Yes, I use the Texture Refresh if I'm curious enough. At the web sites don't do it the way SL viewers do. LOL
  8. Not using Firestorm. (And I do find it annoying that Firestorm users presume it's the only viewer people use. - not you, specifically, but generally).
  9. This is a good point, though I figure most creators are purchasing vendors they have not created. That a good point with the LI example, though the main purpose of showing that is not to show how well-built that item is, but rather to drive home the reason one should never purchase unless they can see or demo in-world; worn or attached items absolutely should be demo'd, not only for fit, but also for LOD because I am actually seeing people whose dresses are doing this as they wear the in public. When trying a demo (hair, clothing, etc.) people are focussed on the design and how it fits, most never think to check the LOD. As for textures, I am referring to the entire room of 100 vendor images, ALL are rezzed nicely, yet there are 9 or 10 that are still solid gray or still defocussed and "salt-and-peppered" throughout the entire area. Are they not all coming from the same SL Servers? Are they not all coming through the same networking connection and gear that I use? I believe it is a lot more likely they are using highest-possible resolution for their advert images when a compressed 512 pixel version will do (to put a simplified point to it).
  10. Agreed. And the ones who could reap the most and highest benefit? Everyone one who was in SL *before* mesh came along and still have *all that stuff*. Muahahahaha!!!
  11. https://www.keurig.com is your friend! Precisely! You also can get tea, cocoa, caramel, other drinks - not just coffee. They don't have to go BoM, though BoM release is really close to their own release so I'm sure they're feeling pressure. I'm sure they are debating the option because it will remove a LOT of the ham-fisted control they have over what you can and cannot do with the item YOU purchased. This is very true, but this isn't the Internet; this is Second Life where word-of-mouth can often be very wrong about things, when it comes to business and customer-relations the voice of the vocal mob is often more truth than not. This, precisely. As for BoM itself, I wouldn't't expect it to be mainstream for at least a year, meaning to say it won't be a major purchasing decision (that an item supports it or not) for most people until then. Even Bento is only now really in the mindset of a majority of people on the grid, yet there are still a lot of people who don't understand at all what it is, i.e. "Bento Car!" Meaning driver animations are Bento so the avatar grips the steering wheel, that car may be complete crappola in every other respect, but the "Bento" aspect is the selling point. It will be the same with BoM in the future and I am sure TMP will embrace it for that reason alone. The question now is what restrictions they will find that allows them to implement it using their tightly-controlled methods. You cannot plan the future on event of the past, however, a series of events create a trend and that creates forecast ability; TMP is not customer-friendly in many aspects of their business model currently and in the past, so it's pretty safe to presume this will continue into the future.
  12. It's not hard to do, I can think of a couple ways. Though it could be a prim-pusher. The no-push setting (as I understand it) applies to script-based pushing. It does not apply to prims. Someone can create a scripted sphere that changes size on command... All I would need to do is to walk into the center of a crowd, wear the sphere, type the command (perhaps on hidden channel) and it instantly changes to the maximum size (and even larger than authorized size if it's an old "mega-prim). That instant size change can knock other avatars away (it's a physical push, not a scripted push). I don't know this for a fact, I'm not a griefer and I hate that describing it may give others a naughty idea. But since it already exists, it's really a no-brainer (for a griefer, anyway.) The best you can do is ask anyone pushed to give you the name of the person that did it and ban them. Yes, I know - they just come back in a new ALT - so you can get a simple script (freebie) that will not allow anyone under a certain profile age into the place. Set it to 10 or 15 days-old or something. If you want it, let me know and I'll send it to you.
  13. ^ Someone give this person a golden prize, please. @Bree Giffen Agreed! I went to a couple sales events and I spotted this: ALSO: If 90% of the vendor images are shown and the rest are gray - I skip them. If a creator cannot optimize the textures in their advertising I think it's safe to presume their creations are likewise over-bloated and improperly built.
  14. What I say here is not official and is only my own hypothesis based on how I understand the simulator server software works: You'll have to create a new account. The problem is that the tutorial region is a special region new users land on. The system does not assign you a "home" location until you leave it. (Pro tip for ALT creators: view world map and TP out of tutorial region to anywhere you want your initial home location to be, even Linden protected land.) The problem with your connection is that logging into the system it doesn't't know where to put you. You could submit a support ticket, but that may be more work and time than it is worth.
  15. I don't use a list to define my friendships. That friend list was originally designed as a simple doorbell, so that when someone on that list comes online you know it *so you can meet-up and spend time together*. That's all it ever was and still is to me. People who ask to be on my list then go quiet or otherwise ignore me are usually removed within a week. I will keep my list heavily-pruned. If you ask me to be on my friend list then am I wrong to presume you are the one wanting to keep in touch with me? Anyone who takes being unfriended in any kind of emotional way should probably stop and reevaluate their purview of the world.
  16. So my forecast turned out correct, woot! It also shows we still have quite the wait before release as all those regions will surely need to be finished as part of the initial unveiling.
  17. Sure, it's not wrong, just different. I think we go for a look that more closely matches our RL shapes whether we realize it or not - at a subconscious level (in my mirror, my RL shape is more like the Belleza version - but I'm Asian, which is also why I (personally) hate the legs of the Maitreya because it is not even close no matter what I do.) And it is the leg shape why I keep coming back to the Belleza, believe it or not! Yes, really! I was just highlighting the differences, that's all. And also why anyone shopping for a mesh body really needs to demo and scrutinize so they are the most satisfied as they can be with what they choose. There is no wrong, only whatever is right for you.
