What if you woke up tomorrow, and SL had vanished?
Alyona Su replied to Fritigern Gothly's topic in General Discussion Forum
Hahaha! YESSS! I got it just after beta period, so it's paid for itself a long time ago. and while I play in SL those Zen Dollars keep piling up every week so... free new spaceships and stuffs all the time! I wanted to do lifetime for Neverwinter, but they are all about free-to-play from the beginning, so not available. 😕 And I am NOT talking about competing service to SL so there! 😛 ~Ducks before someone bops her on the head for talking about other online places to spend time and money~ -

Safety Advisory - Pirate DJ sightings all over Bellisseria
Alyona Su replied to Devin Heartsong's topic in Linden Homes
Though I quote someone, my question is more general: Don't these "party events" move around each time? It's my understanding that they do. And in that case, @Trinity1776, you can complain, but there's nothing wrong with it, is there> It's once-off event. So you're inconvenienced for a short period of time then no more. Oh, and I crashed that party, too: -
Lumiya mobile client no longer on 3rd party viewer list?
Alyona Su replied to Diana Tyran's question in Viewers
I agree completely! I, for one, actually love the LL viewer (for me it's also very fast and feels more nimble than most others) though I use the CTS Wardrobe, which requires the RLVa, so... Hahaha (But working on rebuilding the LL Outfits picker so I can use it more often.) Okay, enough of that. So, if the viewers are not vetted and if something gets stupid and the Lab won't seek any recompense or "justice" in any form, why would they want *any* RL information? (Rhetorical question.) I suppose this is the main gist of @Sayrah Parx's comment. ~shrugs~- 54 replies

Agreed, why it's a stupid question; stupid implicates the question itself (it's a stupid question), whereas dumb implicates the one asking it (It's a dumb [because I asked it] question) . But no worries, you know me enough by now that though I'm not a "grammar-nazi", I do get persnickety about using the right words to describe things LOL (I studied communications for a time and so, it has become ingrained into my soul now). I see as an edification opportunity. 🤓

That the GPU bit should be ignored. Other than that, yours is far better than the first one I quoted (and that's the one that had me thinking censorable words). -
How to sell land but not have objects auto returned?
Alyona Su replied to Evangeline Arcadia's topic in Mainland
There is only one way to do it without having your stuff auto-returned: The purchaser creates a new group or uses an existing group, for which they are an owner. You must be invited to the group (role: Officer; permissions - cannot sell or abandon land). Select all your stuff* - and set it to the new group (since you own the land they should not return) Change the land group to the purchaser's group. Purchaser deeds the land to the purchaser's group (and donates that tier) That's it, the purchaser is now the owner and your stuff should be set to that group. If the owner sells that land to themselves (so it is not deeded to the group anymore) then your stuff will be returned because the land has changed ownership. NOTE: If the land is *already* deeded to a group, the only way is you make the purchaser an owner of that group, then demote yourself to an officer level (unless you both trust each other implicitly.) * Selection only your stuff and all of it: In build menu set the option to select only objects you own. Then alt-cam WAY up high so you can see the entire parcel. Then with edit window open (CTRL+3) drag a rectangle from outside the parcel borders and drag to enclose the entire parcel - this should select everything you own. Now in the Edit box, go to GENERAL tab and change the group there. This will change the group for all selected objects. -
Thank you (as I had presumed) - though I haven't noticed this issue, so I also will suppose that it happens with certain hair (built a certain way) or something. I look at it this way: Second Life is an adventure!

Still not a dumb question, though could be asked a better way: "How does this dress look on me?"; "Is this dress okay on me?"; "How does this dress fit me?" I always try to ask a question in a positive way, rather than a negative way. Also, there is a difference between "dumb" and "stupid," so I'd classify "does this [item of clothing] make me look fat?" is not a dumb question, but may be a stupid question. LOL 😁

What if you woke up tomorrow, and SL had vanished?
Alyona Su replied to Fritigern Gothly's topic in General Discussion Forum
I would demand a proactive refund on my Premium subscriptions then just dust off my many characters at Star Trek Online and Neverwinter and keep myself entertained after a quick shrug. Because Lifetime Subscription to Star Trek Online was the bestest investment for my entertainment EVAR! -

Never feel dumb; always ask questions. Asking a question is a yearning of knowledge and knowledge is what make us strong! There is no such thing a s a dumb question. Ever! 🤙

I am curious and that brings a question, perhaps @Whirly Fizzle can answer: Even if Firestorm creates a fix for this, what about people using Kokua or LL Official Viewers (if this bug affects those as well) - I take it that people using those (only others on Mac I'm aware of after FS) will still see these anomalies, even if they use FS and it looks fine to *them*. Is this correct?

Recommended System Requirements 2019

I'm not a techno-nerd, but I know enough to say both of these advisors are not giving very good advice. I'll stop now before I say something that gets me suspended. -
It is delayed as it seems there is a lot of under-the-hood code deep, deep in the crusty, rusty bowels of the simulator and server code that they have to get to. The last word I have heard about it is that it is delayed (likely sometime mid 2020, even later) but it is still in-progress; they have not given-up on it.

Yes, yes, I've had this one for six months already. It still humors me to see people asking for things they can easily find on Market Place if they'd just give a look there, first. Those gacha ones don't look very good at all and hardly anything even close to authentic. Eew. LOL

Lumiya mobile client no longer on 3rd party viewer list?
Alyona Su replied to Diana Tyran's question in Viewers
Priorities are priorities, though if LL is requires more in-depth RL information on Viewer developers then I'm all for it. If I'm going to put that app onto my hardware I want to know it's been vetted well and if something goes amiss, I want LL to be able to go after the ones who put it out there. I'll not detail the Emerald Viewer drama of a few years ago, but that is case-in-point. If this means fewer Viewer choices then hurray for fewer Viewer choices.- 54 replies

What is your favorite photo editor?
Alyona Su replied to Ionlorder's topic in Art, Music and Photography
Ditto Affinity Suite; total and permanent Photoshop replacement (Similar interfaces, easier to use, just as powerful for the heavy-lifting stuff) and perpetual license, too (no overpriced recurring rental fee ~holds nose, points at Adobe~). - And I say "suite" because Photo with Designer and even Publisher work amazingly well together, especially when creating Vendor and Market Place adverts.- 27 replies
