  1. Premier Wrestling are hiring snapshot photographers to take pictures at our NAW show on MONDAYS 1 PM SLT and Overload on THURSDAYS(sometimes FRIDAYS) at 1 PM SLT You don't have to be available on both days, but we are currently looking for photographers to take pictures for both our wrestling shows that are about 11/2 hr long sometimes they will be longer. You must be able to capture images with ultra graphics, so you must be able to handle lag well. Being a wrestling photographer means you must be able to quickly take shots of the action scenes as they happen live, there are no redos during the live show. Get good angles as much as you can because it's not like fashion static shots that are posed. Please join our discord server: https://discord.gg/5QgmYbb Check out what we do: https://www.youtube.com/c/PremierWrestling https://www.flickr.com/photos/181787378@N06 Do you think that you have what we are looking for? Then please contact premierwrestlingrecruiter or join our server for faster response.
  2. Due to Firestorm being extremely buggy and laggy on macOS as of late (I'm guessing it's due to all the latest server-side changes, or something like that, and Firestorm is not on par with Linden Lab's latest performance improvements - But I'm eagerly awaiting an update, as I love Firestorm's features), I've been using the Default Viewer a lot lately - It has epic performance in comparison to TPV's (Nearly double the FPS, and zero lock-ups or crashes. on Firestorm, by comparison, I have to completely disable ALM for barely tolerable performance.) but unfortunately, despite the great over-all performance of the default viewer, it falls short when it comes to texture rendering (probably due to its hard-coded 512mb texture memory limit). I'm attempting to take pictures for various projects including snapshots for my new Second Life related Blog but It's a real struggle on the default viewer with textures going blurry at random. I would be focussed in on the perfect shot and then suddenly, one of the objects in the scene would go blurry right as I'm about to take a snapshot. On rare occasions, I manage to catch everything in full resolution for a second. It's mostly a waiting game, sitting around for 10-15 minutes for every snapshot, waiting and hoping for all objects in the scene to render at full resolution at the same time, and hopefully hitting the screenshot button at the right moment, before something goes blurry again. Sometimes it happens, other times it feels like it's never going to happen. Is this a macOS-only issue? Or is this a general Default Second Life Viewer issue? Or is this a me/my system issue? I've tried to increase the texture memory of the viewer through the debug settings to the same value that I use when running Firestorm (1024), and I do not experience this problem on Firestorm, but due to FS's recent performance issues, I'm sticking to the Default Viewer until there's (hopefully) a Firestorm update that fixes the performance and stability issues. Regardless of what value I enter in the default viewer's texture memory debug setting, it always defaults back to a maximum of 512. Now I'm wondering, is there a way to force it to a higher value? Or is there another debug setting that I'm unaware of, that I could change, to stop textures from constantly going in-and-out of focus? There must be a way around this. Please help! Here are my system (potato?) specs for reference: (iMac 4K, Late-2017 - I'm still saving up for a new M1X MacBook Pro)

  5. I figured I'd create a new thread so I wouldn't "necro" an old one. Here goes. I see some gorgeous pictures throughout. (especially in How Does Your Avatar Look Today,) and I saw the part in that forum where lighting was explained. Anyway, I thought I would show you this picture, then tell how I did it. Zero post-editing work, 100% SL viewer and no "photo tools" or any filter-trickery, (not even so much as cropping). This can be done in the Official LL viewer. Here is the finished picture: Here is how I did it: First, I've created a "Photo Lights" attachment I can attach to my chin anywhere. It uses the standard three-light set-up: Main, Fill, Backlight. If anyone wants this attachment, IM me here or in-world: I'll give it to you (or you can make your own): (Yus! My typo: in the third image, the light to the lower-front of me is the *FILL* light - so much for my attempt at a perfect post) ~Groans~ After I select a pose, I edit the lights and turn on EDIT LINKED - I position them how I want them to be. In the properties I usually change the color, I think I have the intensity, fall-off, and that stuff set about right. Then I may play with changing the colors of each light, in my finish example I set the Main to blue and the Back to red, and left the fill as white. Once my lights are set, I turn off EDIT LINKED then just set the texture to transparent. Now I deal with camera angle and *Field of View*. FOV is what we always call "zoom" and people don't understand what it does. So I'll tell you: It removes (or adds) *lens distortion*. It's easier to show you: This is the "default" camera view. Looks normal, right? Now look at 8x "Zoom" (hold CTRL and tap 0 eight times) The differences are in the legs and head: no distortion; this is my true shape. And if we go the opposite: (CTRL+8 three times from default) FYI: CTRL+9 always sets your camera back to default view. So now that I have my camera angle the way I like it (foreground, background, lighting, etc.) - I turn on my "Focal Length" - a.k.a. "Defocussing Background" (It's not called Bokeh, by the way - Bokeh is the Japanese word to describe defocussed dust and other particles in the foreground; FYI) The problem with the way this works is that you have to ALT+[CLICK] to focus something, everything else gets defocussed. This creates the dreaded "Bullseye" framing. So the way to move your camera to position your subject off-center (such as the "rule-of-thirds," etc.) is to use the key commands: ALT+arrow: move forward/back and left/right around ALT+CTRL+arrow: - Rotate up/down and left/right around ALT+CTRL+SHIFT+arrow: raise/lower and crab left/right without changing the camera angle. In this case, I did ALT+CTRL+SHIFT and tapped the left arrow a couple times. This is how I put my subject off-center: For my final image (above) I also selected the "Auto-Contrast" filter built into the snapshot tool. Also, I left all lights white so you can see their effect directly. So there you go. That's how to do great "photography" in SL without relying on expensive HUDs or viewer tools like FS Phototools. These pictures, including the final one, are 100% viewer-created, no post work in any off-line apps or anything. ANYWAY: What tips or tricks do YOU have to share? Include pictures (and it's okay if you use Phototools or whatever else and even post-editing in your offline app) - but explain to us how you did it! (No need for step-by-steps or anything, just tell us what you did )
  6. Hello, Wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue? When I attempt to take a photo (snapshot) in game, I end up with a mostly black photo with some light showing. I have tried adjusting the Environment Editor to different settings. The issue occurs when I am taking photos while on the Ultra for the graphics setting. I am able to take 'normal' photos when I shoot on lower setting, specifically Mid. Previously, this has never been an issue for me. I've included photos to demonstrate the issue. Currently, using a Mac, which is about 3-4 years old.
  7. So I discovered by *accident* that the Lindens are working on a (super-secret?) 360 Snapshot project. I never saw it announced! Well-played, Lindens, well-played indeed! Anyway, I thought I'd create this thread to show-off wonderful places I've found using 360-Snapshots (as in 360º Snapshots) because the usual "flat" snapshots just don't do some of these places justice! I'll tell you how (if you want to give it a go) inaminute, but first a coupe, from Lutz! (If you don't see it: click on the picture and drag your mouse): http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Templemore City/127/88/28 SO here's how to do it if you want! Grab the LL "Second Life Project 360 Snapshot Viewer" (Mac, Windows) here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Alternate_Viewers Position your camera where you want, then choose WORLD->CAPTURE 360 If you like the preview, then click SAVE LOCAL (and give it a good name) Upload directly to FLICKR (if you want to embed it here) or any other 360 Photo hosting website Open the 360 image in Flickr (so you see it as a 360 Image with click-and-drag) - Copy the URL Create a reply in this thread and paste the URL THEN, go back to Flickr, click "SHOW EXIF" and copy the SLURL and paste it into your message too. That's it! A couple things to note: It's an experimental viewer, it's very stable for me (the SL Viewer part is rock-solid), though sometimes the 360 image doesn't capture some prims and mesh objects, so you may have to reposition and experiment a bit, Also, don't edit your 360 images because then you may erase all the meta whatevers that Flickr uses to make it a true 360-image. Even if I am the only one to post here then so be it. It's a shiny new toy from Linden lab and I hope they keep developing it! Though I hope some of you will join me! This is just a post to kick it off, I already have a new place to show you in my next post!
  8. I always love seeing other people's work as well as sharing my own for other people to see. So I thought I'd start this thread for people to share their work and get critique and tips (if wanted/asked for). Share your latest masterpieces whether it be a simple snapshot, an edit, a repaint, a morph, anything Second Life related. I'll start it off....
  9. Hello there, i wasn't sure where to post this so i apologise in advance if i'm in the wrong section and trust that it will be moved to the correct slot. I've been trying to upload snapshots to Twitter without success. This is a feature that, AFAIK, is offered across all viewers, but doesn't appear to work on any consistently. Any ideas on anything i can do myself to eliminate this annoying bug if, in fact, that's what it is? I'm assuming a bug because i hear that the Twitter feature works for some people and not others. I really, REALLY want this feature to work. I'd be very grateful for any theories or suggestions offered. Thank you. :-)
  10. hello for months now I have had snapshots stuck on you have 4 snapshots processing im a little upset these have never uploaded were memories of rp of mine does anybody know a way to have it investigated where they have gone or can be fixed thanks
  11. I have been posting snapshots to my profile feed without any problems for years. Today I realized that nothing was uploaded for the last 4 months. Has LL changed something? Could something in my preferences/settings be the problem?
