Should LL create an Easter Egg?
Bree Giffen replied to Bree Giffen's topic in General Discussion Forum
How about $5,000 Easter eggs every month? No job. Maybe add a few preem accounts into the prize. That way both outsiders and residents would be interested. -
LL should create a hidden prize within Second Life that can only be found by solving puzzles and going to certain places and finding keys. The winner of the Egg gets a million dollars and Ebbe Linden's job. Do you think this would create buzz for Second Life? Would it be a good or bad?

I wouldn't push the simulation theory to anyone. Why? Because if we are all a simulation then all life no longer matters. People will start killing like they did back in pre-biblical times. It's like how the intellectual marxists pushed their theory of communism until it became widely popular and then the communists killed all of the intellectual marxists. You know there is a large segment of humanity that is bone headed. Truly, deeply bone headed. They will kill all of us if they accept simulation theory.

I read a review of one of the later Terminator films were it asked what you would think if any other movie franchise were to simply repeat the same story (Terminator 2) over and over just switching out characters. I saw the film with the female terminator but I don't recall any of the story, dialogue or action.

Besides sex, what are ppl into these days in Second Life?
Bree Giffen replied to Mimaw's topic in General Discussion Forum
Second Life is like the character creation screen of most MMO games. It's a game of never ending customization. There's also the housing decoration game. That never grows old. -

A question for the forum worthies
Bree Giffen replied to BilliJo Aldrin's topic in General Discussion Forum
Let's also make this group anti communist because we hate them too and who cares about their feelings. -

It was the Tea Party. They used to dress up in revolutionary war attire. They were always trying to replace Republican incumbents with more radical candidates much like what AOC's justice democrats are trying to do on their side. I always thought of Trump as the tea party candidate and not part of the Republican party. Biden and Kamala are firmly entrenched in the Democrat party and are much more moderate than they pretended not to be.

Are We Ever "Too Old" For Something?
Bree Giffen replied to JanuarySwan's topic in General Discussion Forum
You could also just wear it in your house. Then open the windows and surprise the neighbors. Then greet the mailman. Go for a drive without getting out of the car. Get a burger at the drive through. And then you'll be struttin' around without a care in the world. -
Uplift - Still a good idea in 2021?
Bree Giffen replied to Extrude Ragu's topic in General Discussion Forum
No one should ever be defending the actions of Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc. I believe that the offices of government should be respected. Congress should not be attacked and the President should also not be censored. All these big tech companies try to present a façade of of morality but the idea of evil corporations didn't spring out of nowhere. -
I need a desk that is perpendicular to the ground and so it can be suspended above me while I lie down in bed. We have sitting desks and standing desks. Why not laying down desks? Somehow my computer has to be tied down to the desktop so it doesn't fall on me. Also, the keyboard and mouse will have to held down. I use a trackball actually so it can be just glued into place.

How far are you getting? I'm guessing you are able to see the Steam VR home in your Vive headset (see pic 1 above). When you start Firestorm VR you should be taking off the headset and looking at just your desktop monitor to see the screen that says 'press ctrl-tab' (see pic 2). Pressing ctrl-tab on your keyboard should still work, I hope, and you should see on your desktop monitor Firestorm will show 'initializing vr driver' (see pic 3). Then pressing tab will launch Firestorm VR into your headset. But...you can still look at your desktop monitor to look at Firestorm and press F5 to bring up the menu. With the double-vision you might be getting in your headset, it will be easier to just lift your headset and try adjusting the settings while looking at Firestorm on the desktop monitor (see pic 5). Also, remember that you have to put your mouse pointer at the center of the Firestorm VR window on your desktop monitor in order to get the correct view inside your headset. The Vive is a nice VR headset! You should also try some of the VR games on Steam or go to YouTube and watch 360 videos.

What is Your Prediction for SL in 2021?
Bree Giffen replied to Prokofy Neva's topic in General Discussion Forum
The whole idea of a text only mobile viewer seems rather pointless. Isn't the entire reason for a mobile viewer to grow a userbase in the mobile market? How many new mobile users do you think would try it? Zero. I mean it's basically chatting with random strangers if you can actually find any. -
What is Your Prediction for SL in 2021?
Bree Giffen replied to Prokofy Neva's topic in General Discussion Forum
I think the new investors want retention to keep SL stable and generating income. Quality of life improvements like a push for fixing bugs and fixing long term issues. For existing residents this would be the most noticeable change. Gaining new customers is possibly not super important as I don’t think a huge growth in SL is expected by the new owners. Maybe expanding into mobile and consoles. With all the remote networking it’s possible LL will move it’s offices to a smaller location. My last prediction is that no one will ever be satisfied with the new last names in 2021. -
Would you eat food if you dropped it on the floor?
Bree Giffen replied to Rat Luv's topic in General Discussion Forum
I’ve found that people will still eat food I have dropped on the floor. -
Yes, you can add animation to an item of clothing. Mesh clothes are attached objects just like hair, jewelry, etc. Right click the object to open the contents and add an animation script and animation file into your object. If you are binding the legs I suppose you want to create a special hopping walk? Or moving like an inchworm? Might be easier to create an AO hud that will be worn in addition to the clothing.

Rigged or Unrigged HAIR...which do you prefer
Bree Giffen replied to FairreLilette's topic in Your Avatar
I will use mostly rigged for long hair and sometimes use unrigged for short hair. It depends if the hair fits or if you need to adjust. Whatever works best. I don’t have a preference. .
