There are still some issue with cops - a small minority of them. Most are good. But I wonder if the thought has ever occurred maybe just stop resisting arrest? even if is a BS stop, a profiling stop, or what ever, maybe let the attorney and courts settle it ......until we can fix (or remove) the bad cops this might help in the mean time....

I recently have noticed FS is writing to disk like it is penning a novel. 30-50% sometimes even 100% write. (observed in the task manager) the system resource monitor just says 'system' I have checked while on black dragon, and it remains between 0-1% disk activity Anybody know what FS is doing? I don't recall this type of disk activity before but maybe just never payed attention. Even when recording video in SL I don't see this amount of disk write activity.

ok some my first impressions (related to observed performance not anything to do with the UI) I went to area in Grove Estate I know likes to chug alot. I set the FS and Alc. viewer to the same WL and same draw distance, same display settings First of, observing the windows task manager, the usage of the CPU / GPU is really no different than of FS Firestorm: after intial load I'm getting anywhere from 6-11 FPS and if I let the scene 'bake in' longer up to 20 FPS or so. FS has for me for a while now, chugged and very low FPS on some sims until it gets more processed. It's loaded, no grey, just takes a while for the FPS to build up. Alcehmy: The loading was very fast and I was instantly getting rates from between 40-90 FPS (I walked back and forth along a path in both viewers) there was no observed 'bake in' period where I had to wait for the FPS to pick up. From my observation on this particular sim in this particular area, I would say it was anywhere from 2-5 times better in FPS, and in addition, when walking, no choppiness I plan on doing more testing and with the 3D mouse I use for machinima work and on different sims to do more comparing. So far I have to say, it performs really well. Now, I can't say something in my Win 10 just doesn't like a certain file or process within FS, but from my early observation, alchemy works quite well my computer: core i7 4790 16g RAM GTX 1080 Win 10 build 19041

wading into a pool of scolding hot water here - I would have to say probably 90% of those "protesting" don't give a squat about 'BLM' or rights or racism or whatever. this is just a free for all, burn what we want steal what we can party The REAL problem is an has been the 'bad apples' always present in police ranks, and this is made possible by the the whole "Blue Line" bs cops use to 'protect' one another. In this last case, you cannot tell me other cops never saw or noticed a pattern by this cop in the past using excessive force on suspects, and yet they remained silent cause that's 'what cops do' If these 95% of all good cops want to really help put an end to all this crapola now and in the future, end this 'Blue Wall' bs once and forever. A bad cop is a bad cop and has no place wearing a badge

this has been been covered ad-nausuem ... any GTX 10+ card will work but SL is also CPU bound and NOTHING you have will always allow 'ultra' to be on all the time with screaming FPS. But when building a PC i always like to future proof as much as possible in anycase. keep in mind though SL prefers Nvidia cards over AMD

Low GPU Usage with Nvidia RTX 2060
Jackson Redstar replied to ElJaviLuki's topic in Second Life Viewer
There is also that some sims will be CPU high, GPU low and FPS very low and other sims will be GPU high and FPS high. Why? beats me! just the way it can be -
Fees for taking photos???
Jackson Redstar replied to Frigga Freidman's topic in Art, Music and Photography
i wouldn't be surprised if Linden started charging non-premium members a fee to save an image to disc! -
Snapshots low quality?
Jackson Redstar replied to Sharion Scarmon's topic in Art, Music and Photography
but it is still absolute cr*p saving a image to inventory, if quality is what you want. It always saves as a jpeg, which for linden is is highly compressed. and yeas every time a image gets uploaded from your disk, it downsizes to a max of 1024 and compresses to linden quality, but still, taking a really high res image saving as png (lossless) to your disk and even then uploading back from your disk to SL will be a nicer image (you can use bulk import to skip the file size limitations and warnings even though it will be still resized to 1024 upon upload) at the least save it as the highest resultion you can if saving to inventory, make sure anisotropic filtering is checked on and anti-ailising is max (16x) that will at least help for an in world shot saved to inventory -
I think its a good thing it is now an object in inventory. After all, our inventory is never big enough, and finding things in there is so super easy......

you want fps in firestorm go to wprld> show friend only Ridding SL of most avies is the best performance boost! but assuming you're in there to hang around others, learning to live with low FPS is the second best solution!

nothing changes, once things return to 'normal' we go about doing what we do. We still bow down to almighty china and their cheap *****, we as usual don't learn any lessons, etc.. least ways in America. But money is money, so we will always turn to our united enemy, china, to give us the cheap stuff and solve our economic woes and buy our debt

I would guess that IF SL were to shutter its doors it would be more like we wake up one morning, go to log onto SL and no connection. There would be no 'two weeks notice' or anything. Just pull the plug. Doubt it will happen but IF it does, that would be my guess...

I have a poor performance, but I use a high-performance PC
Jackson Redstar replied to nyko Piek's topic in Second Life Viewer
this is when i video weddings, so avi quality needs to remain up and i can't really de-render folks . and this is in Firestorm, unfortunately BD isn't suitable to shoot weddings still, much as I'd like to
