there are free screen recorders out there (Many use OBS Studio) and alot of good free video editors (davinci resolve free is very good) You will find quite a few good youtube tutorials out there and even if some are a bit dated concepts still about the same today. Also in general, you can look for tutorials on RL film making as alot of the principals apply to movie making in SL The point is with free recorder and editor, it then costs nothing but your time to practice, practice, practice! Also search out for SL film makers in youtube to see what others are doing maybe for some points of inspiration. But nowadays with the quality avis and clothing etc and bento animations alot of things are possible

I think sl is like rl in a sense that if u get bored easily in rl will happen in sl only sl can amplify that. Unless one has a specific passion like building or scripting or a certian kind of RP or whatever like that, things can get old quick. Sailing in fun for a while, but unless you maybe in a club or group it becomes ok, whats next? Flying same thing of that is helped along with all the sim cross issues, running into ban lines etc.. I suppose SL is what you make of it. if it becomes boring usualy phase out for a bit then come back look for something new seems to help.. I keep busy mostly with wedding videos but alot of the other stuff, yeah, it does become real old real fast

Ummm I would thing a career as a YouTuber or Tik Toker would be more doable for the "I don't want to get a real job" type than trying to make in big in SL......

Luminar is a lightroom style editor, and will soon be releasing an AI driven program. It is on preorder now for like 80 USD. I pre ordered a copy today. It looks pretty nice from what I seen, supposed to be released later this year. For those looking for an affordable photo editing option, might be worth checking out. Link below. Either we have immigration laws - or we don't. Also you need a little civics lesson The executive branch carries out and enforces laws. They don't make laws. Congress does that. And at the time Trump was elected, current laws still said it is illegal to come to to the USA with out proper documentation and in places other than ports of entry. No where in those laws was exemptions for "maids and crop pickers" If you dont like the laws change them, but don't elected someone who promises they will just ignore them

This is the problem we have here. Some people just dont understand the difference between legal and illegal. And liberals do what they do best - if laws are enforced they don't like, they start with the name calling and insults. If you don't like the laws, tell congress then to eliminate all immigration laws. Simple as that

'cost' can vary alot. alot of us old timers have a huge inventory of stuff we can use, but maybe a new skin and hair for the avi, sometimes new clothes, animations are hard to find what you want sometimes but that might add up. Im thinking on average I might spend about 1k L on a video - sometimes alot less, sometimes more

thanks Soda - I used to be on Adobe Premiere Pro but got tired of the 'Pay for the Rest of Your Life' model so I am now using Davinci Resolve Studio version (one time 300 dollar fee) The free version works super good to but among the perks of the paid version is it unlocks alot of the effects filter, this being one of them. Of course color grading in Resolve is second to none

for music video, it is a song. I might spend hours listening to music to find something, or use a song I know and really like, then try to formulate a idea from there, Sometimes its easy, sometimes it might take a couple years for an idea to come to me for a particular song... on more general sim tour vids, well i suppose thats easy its a cool sim but then trying to find music for it can be hard sometimes

follow up to my post. I been in SL for 13 years now, and I just now found the solution to my problem right there in Preferences under Move and View, by un-checking 'Reset camera position on avatar movement' Doh!

I have this old script I used to make a simple cam position for riding a horse. I am experimenting using it for custom angle when shooting myself in video, particuly riding a motorcle. the MC has camera option and can be changed just is a real pain. {by that i mean no explaination on what the controls what axis are what etc) Im not a scripter at all though i figure how to tweak it some. I want to be able to set it in a fixed place when i am driving a MC and filming even though would also use it for walking and moving I have another thing called HUD Cam v2.2 that can switch cam positions - but they cant be modified, but i know scripting like what i want is possible...primarily I need a follow cam (no lagging) that can change offset left/right, in/out and up/down plus pitch, then a reverse view (facing me) with the same adjustments, and side views as well. Basically think if you cam locked onto someone driving and got a over the shoulder shot or a rear facing shot or a side profile shot as they are driving I can pay if someone wants to take this on...
