Lets not forget, the reason there is so much non sailable coastline is that LL chose to SELL parcels there. As your image shows this kind of problem is much older than Zindra: - Even very simple coastlines around these would be nice. The one on the right there, Shermerville, had it's coast on it's west added only about 10 years ago. So there was a plan at one point to do something about this stuff. Bellisseria essentially pays for itself (or would except for the themes that have thousands of unoccupied homes). I think it was M. Linden who decided to sell all that coastal land? Quick profit over long-term vision? I think LL is capable of seeing what kinds of land are most popular, but their resources for developing existing land are apparently limited, users seldom abandon coastal property once they get it, and it would hurt customer relations to try to force people off land they've bought and are paying tier for. Im pretty sure Belli is already overbuilt, they can call that done and start fixing their mainland messes. I didn't know sex could be a part of it when I first signed up. I had no real idea of what any of SL could be about (other than it's some sort of second life). I signed up out of curiosity after reading about it in a Computer Magazine (yes, actual PAPER lol). I don't think SL is advertised well enough. I haven't seen any adverts in years. But that could be because I haven't been on the right sites to see adverts. But really, I wouldn't have signed up if I thought SL was a dedicated porn site. SL simply needs to show what an avatar looks like and people will imagine how it can be used for s e x. I think they are doing a good job keeping it subtle. That is a rarity in virtual worlds. Promoting it doesn't make them them sleazy porn merchants but simply a virtual world where there is a greater degree of realism.
