I wonder if constellations on sl night sky are real copies of rl constellations

I don't know.  I sent my avatar outside to lie down on the little beach and look up.  There were some star configurations that looked a bit like ones I know, but not enough to convince me.  My avatar got cold so I sent her back indoors to stand by a cosy fire.

The EEP stars on the SL night sky are nice and twinkly and all, but I recognize absolutely none of the constellations of the northern hemisphere on it, and I'm not familiar with the ones on the sourthern.

Anyone recognize anything at all in this part in the (enhanced) picture above? It's about 45 degrees wide and 22 degrees tall on the sky.

There are no constellations in the SL night sky because nobody has joined any dots and given them names, so no, no copies of RL.

If the SL stars are the same night after night, you might fancy constellationising them, and we could have the Examining Starmap - Examining being the OP's name - or the Sailorcipher Starmap since she's already come up with some possible constellation names.

This conversation is so strange, because I don't go in world much anymore for pleasure but last night I did and I was sky gazing near a light house. Something like this.

The default stars aren't real but that said, you can upload new skies with EEP so if you wanted to have RL constellations up there, you can now (in land you own).

This is the starfield we have in the sky on our region. It doesnt show well on a photo but is quite epic

@Sorciaa, since that is essentially an enormous sphere surrounding your region, wouldn't it require a pretty insane draw distance to even see?? Not to mention having your region well off by itself?

Actually, is EEP/Windlight that has it which is [DDD] Spectral Nights EEP Pack and I love it!
