  1. SSPSCR - SSP Sailing Coastal Region ?!
  2. I would like to see a "Coastal Theme" set of deep water regions appear around the coastlines of all the major mainland continents which would connect all the SL continents together. The "Coastal Theme" regions should not contain any houses, houseboats, dwellings or habitable land. Because I (and many others) want an SL map which is fully accessible by all water vessels. The new "Coastal Theme" regions would all be ex Nascera Continent (Linden Homes v1.0) regions that have been recycled and repositioned., rather than being wastefully deleted.
  3. Today I decided to travel by water from Rigamarole rezzing pier all the way through the Fantasy regions down to the most south-east Fantasy region edge, a region called Edgewhistle. I used a motorised watercraft which had a very low profile hull, with a flat bottom and no keel. I used the inworld World Map for navigation. The trip from Rigamarole down to the southern edge of Edgewhistle was very twisty, narrow and the bridges are all fairly low.. Boat owners with vessels with deep drafts and tall masts should not attempt this trip as they won't be able to navigate through it fully. It was quite easy to get lost in the labyrinth of narrow rivers and streams which are partly hidden by trees when viewed from overhead on the World Map. In all, the trip took about thirty minutes and I went through about two-dozen regions (give or take, I wasn't counting) and I would rate this mini adventure as being quite easy to complete.
  4. Just had my first visits to these new Fantasy regions. I was pleased that this new area of SL has a water level at the default 20m height. However, the Fantasy regions bridges are very low and may block taller vessels. At present, there is no perimeter coastline to allow sailing around this new sub-continent. (I don't know if one is or isn't planned) However, I felt underwhelmed, unimpressed and disappointed by what I saw and felt in these new regions. The so-called Fantasy regions are an unimaginative collection of samey cookie cutter regions that lack any sense of real fantasy, wonder or magic. They are a collection of regions that all (mostly) contain the same narrow streams, bridges, willow trees, toadstools, crystal formations etc. The homes are all angular and boxy houses that all contain a uniformly boxy square modern interior and completely lack a "fantasy" element to their design. A wider variety of imaginatively designed curved, natural and organic themed homes should have been made but were not.
  5. I've always thought that the LW/SL Beta Residents commemoration plaques in Plum were stupidly misplaced in Plum region, as Plum didn't exist during that Beta period of the original 16 San Francisco sim regions. The commemoration plaques should be relocated into a more deserving, higher profile and actual Beta period sim region , such as Da Boom or Natoma.
  6. @Daniel Voyager "Brookside" ?!?! *flashback* 💭 Brookside was a British soap-opera set in Liverpool, England. The series began on the launch night of Channel Four Television (UK) on 2 November 1982 and ran for 21 years until 4 November 2003. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brookside 😜
  7. STOP CALLING THEM "LEGOS" !!! Lego is a company name, not a product name. Lego make interlocking plastic bricks which are officially NOT called "Legos". They, (Lego) would prefer you call them "Lego bricks", not (cringe) "Legos".
  8. The US didn't get it's independence on 4th July 1776, it only "declared" independence by writing and signing a petition of it's intentions on that date. The Treaty of Paris, which ended the conflict, was signed (in Paris) on 3rd September 1783 and this treaty which granted independence only came into effect on 12th May 1784. So you really should be doing it annually on 12th May.... 😛
  9. NCR? New Cornfield Regions! 😜
  10. I'm pleased to say that my four latest Gaeta maps, along with @4lice Cerise's original Gaeta diagram are all now on display at @Juliana Lethdetter's Maps of Second Life exhibit at New Kadath Lighthouse Art Gallery. Thankyou to Juliana and also to 4Alice who inspired mine.
  11. Another coastline that needs an upgrade is Satori's west coast. 18 new regions would need to be created to allow boats to move between Bellisseria, Satori and beyond.
  12. Thought you might like to see what an upgraded Satori west coast might look like. A total of 18 new regions would be needed to make it navigable by boat.
  13. After the Chalet Homes were connected to Satori (on 30th March 2021?), does anyone know who did the first ever crossing? Was it a Mole, a Linden or someone else? Is there a list of people? It would be interesting for the SL history records I think.
  14. Today I rezzed my official Second Life Rez Day cake (made by @Crazy Mole) and expected it re-decorated for my 13th Rez Day today, another to add to my growing collection from previous years. Sadly, it seems they only sense ages up to 12..... bwaaaaaah!!! 😜 Could the cakes get an update for us "senior citizens" of SL please, @Patch Linden ?!
  15. I was curious about an alternative north-south route that goes around and through Sansara. At the moment, its possible to sail from Sansara's north coast all the way south via Nova Albion, the San Francisco 16, to Abbots airport and down to the Chamonix City regions. But no further than that, as there are too many ban lines and no further protected waterways. So I added some imaginary regions to the south of Chamonix's regions, around the Snowlands and eastwards to the Elements regions which complete the southern coast of Sansara. A full coastal route which touches land costs 29 regions, while a shorter more direct route that's partially separated from the shoreline costs 26 regions. Both these routes use fewer resources and are cheaper than doing a full east coast route from Omoo to Bleaberry Tarn.... (oops!)
  16. I was curious about an alternative north-south route through or around Sansara. So I added some imaginary regions to the south of Sansara, around the Snowlands and Elements regions. I was very surprised to discover this route is shorter than an east coast route (oops...!). A full coastal route with touches land costs 29 regions, while a shorter more direct route costs 26 regions.... Anyone feel like writing another Jira?!
  17. @Sophieredwood Not just to sail on, to live by, to use as a coastal route for visiting the continents to Sansara's north, south and further to the east. Which we currently can't do!
  18. I have filed a JIRA - a new feature request - for the creation of a Sansara East Coast. I urge like-minded people to read it. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-230820 @Linden Lab @Linden.@lindenlab.com @Alexa Linden @Kyle Linden @Derrick Linden @Patch Linden @Abnor Mole Fingers crossed....
  19. This 33 region coastal route would be the shortest and cheapest option. Bleaberry Tarn (north) to Omoo (south). In fact, I'm going to officially propose it to Linden Labs....
  20. One of the biggest problems with Sansara continent is that there is currently no way to move by boat from Sansara's north coast to south coast, or vice-versa. Why? There is no contiguous waterway and water levels are much higher/deeper in Sansara's southern interior lakes. I've drawn some (hypothetical) plans below which create an east coast for the continent. The first idea involves a relocation of a 16 region sized micro-continent called "Islandia North" (to the north-east of Sansara) and adding 38 new water regions for an entirely protected waterway along the east side of Sansara, creating a proper coastline for the first time in its long history. The coastal route also utilises some existing water regions (between Sansara and Islandia South micro-continent) and connects at it's southern end to the north shore of Bellisseria, the new Linden Homes continent A second alternative to moving Islandia North, is to dig a protected water channel through the current Pine Coast (1031,1008) region, or Torver (1030,1007) region which could also work - and reduce the new region count by two to "only" 36. A third and the "cheapest" alternative would be to link only as north as Bleaberry Tarn (1030,1004), using a total of 33 new regions.
  21. @Coffee Pancake , 38 regions is "only" twice the number of new regions that were added to Jeogeot's north coast in 2019 to link it to Bellisseria. As for moving continents or smaller micro-continents, that is something that LL employees have already said can be done. And I've included two "cheaper" alternatives of 36 and 33 regions too.
  22. Hello all. I decided to start a new thread specifically for my favourite continent, Sansara - where SL all began, as did it's precursor, Linden World. My first post for this thread fixes one of the biggest problems with Sansara, as there is currently no way to move by boat from Sansara's north coast to south coast, or vice-versa. Why? There is no contiguous waterway and water levels are much higher/deeper in Sansara's interior lakes. My plan involves a short relocation of a 16 region sized micro-continent called "Islandia North" (to the north-east of Sansara) and adding 38 new water regions for an entirely protected waterway along the east side of Sansara, creating a proper coastline for the first time in its long history. The coastal route also utilises some existing water regions (between Sansara and Islandia South micro-continent) and connects at it's southern end to the north shore of Bellisseria, the new Linden Homes continent. A second cheaper alternative is to leave Islandia North where it is, but dig a protected water channel through the current Pine Coast (1031,1008) region, or Torver (1030,1007) region which could also work - and reduce the new region count by two to "only" 36. A third and the "cheapest" alternative would be to link only as north as Bleaberry Tarn (1030,1004), using a total of 33 new regions.
  23. Hello? What's this?! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------V Was just found by @Juliana Lethdetter And there's no sim region underneath it!!!
  24. Completing the log homes and its north coastline should be their priority before focusing on yet another theme . I'm tired of seeing unfinished projects across SL which were not completed because focus all went on the latest "big new shiny thing", that quickly became yesterday's news after the crowds dispersed. Meanwhile uncompleted stuff lays abandoned for years - sometimes decades - and is always a disappointment for the resident, visitors and a point of regret of everyone involved in it's creation. @Linden Lab @Patch Linden @Abnor Mole please break this cycle of short-sightedness, the throwaway mentality and complete a project before moving on to a newer one.
