Question

Hi everyone !

I have very recently added my skrill account in secondlife billing information, My skrill account has been varified and has no limits on it, I added it to secondlife billing information and there was successful transactio of the initial 1 dollar that secondlife send over for varification, it went through and gor refunded successfully, but after that when i tried to buy lindens in SL and upgrade my member ship i get this issue

I have contacted Skrill about the issue and they say my account if fully operational and have no issues, I contacted with LL support and they told me its because of either of the following

Account status

Geographical location

unidentifiable risk factors

and they will look into the issue

After that when i tried again buying i got the same issue and the same email from LL and then they just closed my case without further explaination, I opened another case requesting to look in detail provided the snapshots of skrill and successful initial payment, But they just tagged my second case to the first one and i see the staus as closed .

PS: I am operating my skrill and secondlife accounts from Pakistan and if skrill has no issues with it why Sl has ? assuming thats that one of the reasons stated in above 3

I am very bummed and confused right now ,I am not able to get any kind of help anywhere, can anyone plase guide me what can i do .

Thank you

Amber

i would say try set up paypal or a real Credit Card of a major brand.

It can be because your country is possibly at a list of higher risk payments ... they will never publish that.

I think that is the reason they have added only skrill and paypal as accepted payment methods so the risk factor can be eliminated, Skrill varified my account through RL information , its should not be LL's concern, And if it was on the first place then why i was able to add it succesfully as my payment method, I would have loved to add paypal if it was operative in my country but paypal is not available, and i dont think if it even was they will give me the same issue as with skrill since they are both one and the same thing .

yes it is totally LL's concern, when you buy something they insist on direct payment. They don't wait one single minute before they get paid, perhaps you check if your amount stored on Skrill is enough?... verified and backed up won't work alone.

skrill and paypal are not the same.. they work nearly simular but thats something else.

Yes ofcourse i have enough dollas in my skrill account , and won't skrill pay instantly if i am using skrill to make the payment ? The initial one dollar transaction that was to varify my skrill was done within seconds .

I had problems buying lindens with my skirll account too, As you, I called Skrill and they told me they didn't have any problem, I called Linden Lab and they told me they were having trouble with Skrill, and they didn't know when they were going to fix it.

I waited for some days, and after a while, I could buy lindens with Skrill.

once your money gets in your Skrill account, is like buying their dollars that they allow you to use to buy anything you want, if Linden Lab accepts the money from Skrill, it is accepting money from a trustable source.

they may have problems with certain accounts, and they are working on it, since you already gave them a notification that your account is having problems with Skrill, it may be on the list of accounts to fix.

just like me, you may have to wait some days and try buying lindens from time to time, one day you could get the surprise that is working.

I see the posts are from 2016. Its 2018 now and I am going through the same problem as AmberChaudry ... so obviously SL didnt took any steps to resolve that issue.

Judging by the fact that she didn't post any further replies in this thread and is still active i guess her issues got resolved. Maybe you can give a little bit more information on your background and what problem you are encountering.

I am facing exactly the same problem as Amber did, I tried to buy Lindens through my Credit card, it was declined. I contacted the "Support" and got a ticket and after few exchange of messages, I was told that they cant resolve the issue. I gave up on trying, and then I saw they added the "Skrill" option. I made a Skrill account , added a 100 US$ on it from my credit card, and added the Skrill account as my payment option on SL, it got verified by SL, as the deducted 1.00 US$ and refunded it back to my skrill account, I got the notification that my Skrill account was verified. I was happy to know that will work , since it was verified with SL, but when I tried to purchase lindens against 20 US$..I got the error message "There was a problem charging your payment method."..after many attempts, the result was same..I contacted the Support Team again and got a ticket again. Below is the exchange of messages with support team:

Hello,
I am trying to buy LindeX Currency through my Skrill account. Each time I click it tp pay , I get this message "There was a problem charging your payment method". I have made a few attempts, by adding my Skrill account freshly as a Payment Method, but every time it fails.
Looking forward to get this problem resolved.
Thank you.

    Hello,
The payment option I chose is Skrill, and Second Life accepts that method of payment, it is one of the payment method on your website, so would you kindly let me know , why payment from my Skrill account is not accepted, while your website accepts payments through Skrill, and let me know how this issue can be resolved,

    Thank you

i'm affraid thats indeed the fact ... sometimes it's also for LL impossible to solve things that aren't in their control ór out of possibilities by several reasons.

You perhaps want to edit your post, in general, support isn't very fond on publishing results and answers of tickets, it might get removed.

Make sure your Skrill is linked to a real credit card.

It sounds to me like whatever caused your card to be declined is still there if you used that card to verify Skrill.

Hello,

I wonder if it helps me posting my problem over here.

I am having an issue buying lindens as well. My G.F is in UK and she used my ID to sort my avatar and did a transaction buying lindens and since then i have not been able to make any transaction or buy lindens. It was almost 15-16 days ago. I submitted a ticket as well where i was told it might take 2 weeks and they closed the ticket.

After waiting for 2 weeks i am still not able to buy lindens and one thing more , SL asked me to make a verification by attaching a selfie with my passport which i also did.

I have submitted a ticket again but to be honest i feel disappointed since i have been suffering a lot.

If anyone can do anything then please let me know.

as start thats not very smart, never give somebody access to your account. IF you do/did and there are things going wrong, you'r totally responsible yourself.

there's a weekend... and a holiday... everything will get picked up after that.

to be honest i never heared about they asking for a selfie...  but could be to see if the ID isn't stolen and used by somebody else.. but still... kinda weird.

LL can tell when a log in attempt is made from a location that's far away from your usual sign in location.  Combined with an attempt to purchase $L, this probably raised a red POTENTIAL FRAUD flag.  This is why you are having to prove to LL that you are really you, and in control of your account.

Never let anyone else have access to your account.  Nobody.  Ever.

The fact that LL is asking you to verify you are who you say you are, means something triggered the fraud flag-it could've merely been her accessing your account from a way different location, or (and just as likely, if not more) it could've been the payment provider for whatever payment info you have attached to your account. You may well have to contact both sides to ensure it gets fully cleared up. Once a payment provider flags an account, they won't let any future transactions with that same account(in this case, trying to buy lindens for sl) go through or even be attempted. Each attempt to buy lindens just raises more flags and increases how long it's going to take to sort.

I know you've already been told that it's unwise to allow someone else to access your account, but I want to reiterate that no only is it unwise in sl alone, it's actually quite fool hardy in multiple areas. You're not only giving someone access to your sl account, but your payment information as well.  Be GLAD that LL is making you verify, and basically jump through hoops, they're helping you safeguard information you weren't being very safe with. Annoying as it may be for you now, it's much better than them not caring who uses your information ;)

I don't have problems with skrill but I have 2.44 dollars left I want to use and I can't because of the transaction fee and the minimum of 2.50. Thing is.. I have more lindens in my balance that would make a total of more than 2.50 but I can't use the 2.44 dollars in the first place. Can I do something about this or I need to wait until I'm able to spend more money? Thx.
