  1. Yes mesh clothing templates are available in SL, there are a few good mesh makers who sell their work full perm (not nearly as many as there used to be but still some good ones). What you need to watch for is 1. try a demo first before you buy as some of the better templates can be pricey. 2. Make absolutely certain you are buying from the creator, and not some low priced rip off illegal botted of the original. 3. Look for templates that have specific mesh body fit mesh, at least the top three or four for both men and women depending on what you are making. 4. Do not over price or under price your work when you are ready to sell.. If it is over priced folks will just pass you by, and if it is too cheap you get a rep for putting out cheap stuff, and piss off other creators using the same templates but charging reasonable prices. Start by looking on MP.. enter "full perm mesh clothing templates" in the search and that will bring up pretty much what you are looking for (as well as a lot of stuff you are not looking for too lol). Once you find a mesh maker you like and can trust, join their group and get info on new stuff as soon as it comes out.
  2. OH I know, my partner has the same issue, but it is not only Adam as he wears another mesh body not Adam and when shopping demos, he has to reject most of what he finds because of the same issue, either the top of the jeans themselves or the belt poke through the shirts. He is not a shirtless or tucked in type. But actually this issue is not just men's clothing, the same thing happens with women's jeans as well. That is probably why you see so many women's tops that are cropped well above the waist but men really can't wear that style lol.

    -Solved-

I know where they came from, I will send you a personal message with details.
  4. I know that! good grief did I say one? When I said Belleza I meant all three! Mind you, I have seen some mesh makers, eliminate Venus just lately and only in a few places..
  5. I still don't see the lack of selection!! I really don't! I have been paying particular attention since reading these posts, and I have to say, it must be where folks are shopping, because anywhere I have gone in the past two weeks has all had Belleza options.. Granted you won't find me within a mile of any gatcha, so that might be part of why I haven't run into this issue, but I sure have visited a lot of shows, fairs, events and stores.. and Belleza option is always there where I go..
  6. ahh ok your original post did not say anything about teleporting so ya what Rolig said
  7. Real privacy can only be accomplished by standing on a parcel of land that has the option set so that others outside the parcel cannot see or hear you. But anyone else standing on that same parcel can see and hear you.. I don't see how any box would give you real privacy?? as it all depends on how the parcel is set and who else is on that parcel with you. Having said that, there are huds out there that may have the option to turn yourself invisible (at least there used to be) this is done using scripts... So I don't understand what a box would be needed for.
  8. Ok I need to say something here in fairness to the body makers. IN the past there have been problems, yes like that long time Belleza took to get their body updated and no kits were issued during that time.. BUT and here it is! I am a designer, I wanted to make mesh but I am just only learning although I have been making other clothing for 12 years... I applied for all the kits that are out there including Belleza, and got a very quick response and acceptance.. In fact the Belleza is the best kit out there.. good instructions, excellent information and weights etc.. they even give you a video to help you get it right.. I am still mastering rigging but I can tell you now, the first outfit/dress or whatever I do complete will be Belleza, simply because it is THE best kit out there.. and contrary to what is being said.. not all that hard o get.. I mean they gave me one, and I have by no means proven myself as a mesh maker lol.
  9. I took a look at this survey, and it seems your friend is wanting the survey because she is finding a lot of Maitreya exclusive mesh and not a lot of Belleza. I find this odd. I have both Maitreya and Belleza bodies ( I wear Isis). Guess I find it odd because I have no problem finding loads of clothing that includes both Belleza and Maitreya. Granted there are some designers who only make for Maitreya, but honestly I rarely come across those. Everything I have bought to date has has both in the package. I make clothing from mesh shells I purchase and texture with my own textures, and again I rarely run into a situation where Belleza sizes are not included so everything I make and put out to my stores has Belleza in it (with the exception of one mesh creator who has stopped making shells in the Venus size). My thoughts are that if I can't make for at least Belleza, Maitreya and slink, I would not even consider purchasing a mesh shell to work with. I have begun to learn how to make my own mesh, but it is slow and haven't gotten very far yet, but I will say that of all the kits out there to make mesh clothing, Belleza has proven to be the easiest to follow, with the best help and instructions, no missing info everything needed is there including a video. So I can see no reason why mesh clothing makers would not take advantage of that. And from what I have seen the majority do.
  10. I expect the only person who could possibly answer that question would be the person who owns the store, perhaps sending that person a note card might get you an answer.
  11. Well, I can't really post a link in this forum or that would be considered advertising .. but I can tell you that I simply opened up Market Place, and in search I typed Latex Cat Suit Maitreya and I got a load of them, and not all were appliers either. Just saying.
  12. I have been in SL over 12 years, and seen many a fad come and go, but mesh is not one of those fads, if anything it has gown and expanded faster than I thought it would. So I would say no the mesh bodies are not going anywhere. Having said that, of course mesh clothes are going to follow suit, the law of supply and demand. I was a hold out for getting a mesh body to be sure, as I continuously struggled to make mesh clothes in standard sizes fit my unique hand made shape. Now after getting a mesh body, and finding all sorts of clothing for it that is made just for it, I would not look back on those frustrating days of old, especially since I can wear my own unique shape and clothing still fits.. I do design clothing in SL as well, and although I don't make original mesh myself yet (still learning) I can see where mesh clothing makers would start to cut down on making the mesh that is no longer selling well, as making just one mesh dress in various sizes is one heck of a lot of work, way more than they can reasonably expect to get in return for sales. So given that the majority now use mesh bodies, I can see why making mesh in standard sizes is a chore that likely will not bring in much in returns. Presently I buy ready made blank mesh clothing templates (or shells) and texture them myself, if I can get a template shell that includes standard sizes I include those, but more often than not I don't get the standard sizes anymore. So all I can suggest is keep looking for clothing made in standard sizes, you might find more in bargain areas in stores where a lot of the older designs end up (they might be more likely to include standard sizes). Or you can bite the bullet and try some mesh body demos, with your own shape then test some clothing demos for that body to see how things work. You can do it all with demos first so you don't have to spend a linden until you are ready. But I am afraid no amount of posting in here is going to encourage mesh makers to go backwards if it is not in their best interest to do so.
  13. Well I was a hold out on mesh bodies for a long long time.. finally gave in when I discovered that I still can use my own shape (that I too took ages to get just right) and to my amazement my body looked better !! I even managed to hold out on a mesh head till just recently when bento came in.. and after trying like at least 30 demos,, I finally found one that I could alter and make look almost exactly like my classic head features. So in the long run I am glad first that I held out till the bugs got worked out of mesh bodies and heads.. and second that I did take the plunge.. However, having said that.. I do still make a few clothes system layer clothes for classic avatars because I know there are still a lot out there:) Just my two cents worth lol
  14. I have been making clothing in SL for 12 years, since before the invent of mesh clothing even.. I had to adapt to the changing trends with all the mesh bodies that started coming out, and since I have not yet mastered making my own mesh, I have to use templates that I purchase in order to continue making clothing, and trust me they cost well over 100L some of them in the 1000L mark or even double that for some. So when I put in 8 to 10 hrs of work to texture and make demos, I can't see putting items out for sale under 100L. I am also limited to which mesh bodies I can make for depending on which ones the original mesh maker has provided. So there are going to be some bodies out there that I cannot make for. And I think a lot of clothes makers only do the most popular mesh bodies. If you were to find someone to make clothes for you specifically for Solarian body I can assure you it will cost you way more than the 100L you are now feeling is too high. You say you make about 200 to 300 L for two hours work in SL.. if creators of clothing charged for each hour of work they put into any clothing item, the public would be looking at 1000L at the very least for each item. Just something to think about..
  15. To answer that question there is one thing that I must point out.. this forum does not allow the listing of specific stores, or MP urls... that is considered advertising and I have gotten into trouble before here for posting such information. You can, use your search engine in your viewer, select places and type in Fashion.. you will get a load of stores some of them may even have the types of mesh clothing they sell for what bodies, listed in their bio. Might take a little work but at least you will know what they have to sell.
  16. ohhh ok,, then that would definitely be the reason for finding only Maitreya... it is Gatcha's... they only put out one item in one size for each try.. so in order to get the size she wants she may have to spend tons of lindens on those things.. Gatcha's are a total rip off .. the whole idea is to give you just one item, so you will try again and spend more lindens till you get the one you want.. My advice, shop in stores, and leave the Gatcha's alone.. they are nothing but a money grab. And for folks who love to gamble.
  17. i find this most odd.. I don't know where you are shopping, but I rarely see anything anymore for just Maitreya.. That was the case yes, back when Maitreya was one of the first on the market.. But these days lot of mesh makers and clothing designers do all the bodies available.. I know I do.. I wear Maitreya or Belleza Isis myself.. and I make clothing in SL, I mostly use pre made full perm mesh templates to work from (cause I am not good enough at making my own mesh yet) .. and I will not buy any template that does not offer at least the most popular in specific sizes for each body. Your wife must be finding a lot of really old stuff. But yes I agree with you, she should not feel she has to get another body just to wear a handful of clothing.. Trust me there is a ton of awesome designs out there with sizes made especially for Freya just maybe have to go to some new or different fairs or stores.
  18. Yes this is most frustrating to be sure! and MOST sellers do not do that sort of thing... perhaps it was an oversight on her/his part. I have had that happen before, and I sent a polite note card to the creator asking if somehow the one for my body got omitted from the box accidentally.. and as it turns out that was indeed the case. She was most appreciative of my bringing it to her attention. So if you have not contacted him/her I suggest you do that. If you get no reply, or in fact it was not an oversight, then I would most definitely let him/her know that you don't appreciate false advertising and would be most likely to NOT make any kind of purchase in his or her store.
  19. Unfortunately, with the SL market for fashion being so highly competitive these days, I don't make enough lindens to afford to pay a model. But there is a section in the forum here where you can post looking for work, perhaps you would do better to try that and post your message there. It might get to more folks interested in what you have to offer. And good luck
  20. If you get the Mesh Creator Kit from Belleza, it has pretty much everything you need included in the kit even a video on rigging, and working with bones. Of all the Brand kits I find this one is the easiest to work with mind you I am still learning the process as well, I use ZBrush to make the actual outfit, but then I have to upload it in .obj format to Avastar to rig and fit it .. and save in the .dae format.. Right now it is trial and error .. mostly error I admit lol.. but someday I will get it down! Good luck.
  21. All I can say is DEMO DEMO DEMO.. period... if there is not demo I will not buy period.. no guess work, the demo either fits or it doesn't and if it does't then for sure I am not buying. It is a shame to only stick to a few designers that you trust, because there really is Soo much out there! And with some of the lesser known labels you may be missing out on some great stuff. BUT even with the trusted brands, you can still get a mesh that doesn't fit quite right.. so again DEMO first!! Always.. and that way you don't waste money.
  22. The top mesh bodies are Maitreya, and Belleza I would say, they have the most clothing available for them.. You can get demos for the bodies in the stores, just put it in search and go visit the store you will find them. Then look for demos for clothes to fit those bodies.
  23. All I can say is share with you my own experience.. I was a long time hold out for not getting into mesh for many of the same reasons you noted. But then I finally did get a mesh body, and wow what a difference.. I could still use my shape so I was still me only now I could wear the mesh clothes made for that body.. so it was worth the investment. I still have an alt who has not gone to mesh, and as I make clothing, all my mesh that can fit classic avatars gets tested on her.. and what I have found is that the fit mesh does work with the sliders but not always in the way you would think. Sometimes it looks like I have to decrease the sliders to keep my boobs from popping through but in fact I have to increase that slider and it covers.. Makes no sense to me, but with fit mesh and sliders you just have to experiment and sometimes do the opposite to what you would think. And with the sliders, you are still changing your shape, so if you don't wanna do that then fitmesh won't be of much worth to you. (unless you do like I do and save each body change for each fitmesh item and name them for the dress etc. so I know to put that one on with the item.) But then that is a hassle too. As for free stuff, I am afraid I can't help there, I never have gone looking for free stuff in all the 12 years I have been in SL, except for the first few months and I found all the free stuff back then was gawd awful, so it kinda put me off free stuff. I guess if you really want this job, I suggest you get a mesh body DEMO along with some mesh clothing made for it (all demos too) use your own body shape with it not the ones that come with the demo. Then experiment I am sure you will come up with something that you can live with. And it just might be worth it to you:) But I do stress using only demos until you are happy with your look.
  24. I am a little confused with your description of what happens. You attach a hud to your screen not your avatar directly so I don't understand how this action could cause your system head to rotate backwards. But I suppose anything is possible. I don't know what viewer you are using, but if it is Firestorm there is a place to reset your avatar.. in the top menu row, pick avatar, then scroll down to avatar health, and click reset default female or male character test. This will give you your avatar as it was originally, you will have to add shape, skin etc again to make it look like you want but it should correct any issues with the avatar. Or if you don't wanna do that, you might try the undeform option in the same menu next time the head goes around, or even try the stop animations option, before you relog.. You may not have to. If you use the SL viewer I am not sure what they have available under ME tab might be something similar.
  25. interesting! Unless an item was created as a one of a kind exclusively for that event, then most often even exclusives end up in the stores of the creators of the item shortly after the event closes. If you track down the creator of that demo, by editing it while still in your inventory, you should be able to see what store and where his or her items are sold. There is a good chance that item you want is still in the store. Or you could try putting the exact name of the item in search in MP if the creator has an MP store it may show up that way. As a creator all the exclusives I make for any given event, always end up in my stores inworld and MP.. unless as I said it was a one of a kind exclusive only for that event. In which case I guess then the need to check demos right away for things like that would be a good practice to get into
