  1. So you'd need one of our security orbs to eject the sitters, too, thus ensuring any banging doesn't last very long.
  2. Yes, if people's vehicles are properly scripted, then having "run scripts" set to group only shouldn't affect the vehicles. However, setting "run scripts" to group only shouldn't affect the sex hud, either (at least assuming the scripter was half-way competent and its owner attached it before entering your parcel), while setting object creation and object entry to group only would prevent it rezzing any pose balls. If, however, you have scripts set to "group only" and one of your friends who isn't a member of your land group tries to attach a HUD or other scripted object while they're visiting you, they'll find it doesn't work for them until they leave the parcel.
  3. Please let's drop the discussion about how someone got banned from a particular club. That's between him and the owner, and since none of the rest of us were there, there's no point in trying to litigate it here. Any further debate about it would be badly off-topic, to my mind.
  4. Just to add to what Abnor said, according to the Wiki, https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlTakeControls So, assuming the scripter knows what they're doing, the "run scripts" setting shouldn't affect vehicles entering the parcel (or your guests' AOs) and they'll continue to function regardless.. That's why -- and I must stress this is only my personal view and not an official recommendation from LDPW or LL -- setting scripts to group only is a bit of a waste of time, since it won't stop a griefer with even a basic knowledge of scripting and simply inconveniences everyone else.
  5. Sorry, folks, but since the thread went off topic, despite Dakota's warning, we've had to lock it.
  6. I think that this thread has now run its course, since any further attempts to keep it on topic seem likely to prove as fruitless as the last one.
  7. We don't normally lock threads because the OP requests it but this one seems to have run its course, at least for the time being. If, however, anyone wants to restart the discussion in a new thread, please go ahead.
  8. The info kiosk might also offer to open the knowledge base article on Experiences in Second Life, which helps to explain and demystify experiences, together with an explanation of what to do if you encounter an abusive experience. You could also play this video in the arrivals area (assuming your visitors aren't scared of shared media, too).
  9. The problem with this is that most solutions to intractable scripting problems seem to come to me in the shower, presumably because I've slept on them overnight.
  10. If you're a premium member, you might consider the Linden Homes Camper/Trailers on Bellisseria https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:New_Linden_Homes_2019#Campers
  11. Abnor has several times said, here and elsewhere, that a lot of the ideas people propose for Bellisseria look easy to implement until you look in detail at what we'd need to do to make them happen. This, I fear, is one of them. Bellisseria's scripting involves a very complex network of inter-object and inter-region communications, and communications between the regions and the land store, much of which depends on various assumptions about which parcel and object uuids are subject to change, and when. One of the basic assumptions with which we work is that, once regions are finally passed as ready for release, they won't ever need to move again, because this would cause all parcel and object UUIDs to change, with consequences that would need a great deal of time and effort to check and, if necessary, rectify.
  12. Please, folks, if you feel a poster is attacking you in this thread (or anywhere in the forums), if you must respond to it, do it in personal messages and not the public forum. If you think that a post breaks any of the guidelines, just report it and let the moderators deal with it. Please don't reply to it -- that just keeps the dispute going and makes more work for moderation as we try to clear after the fight.
  13. Not yet, no. I'm waiting to hear back from them. When I have more information, I will certainly let you know.
  14. I temporarily locked the thread, while I tried to clean up the last few hours' posts as best I can, trying to remove personal disputes, debates about the correct interpretation of forum rules, and general discussions of the nature of mental illness and the adequacy or otherwise of public health provision for it. Rather against my better judgment, I'm unlocking the thread, since it's clearly a topic people want to talk about, but it it goes off the rails again, it will be locked permanently.
  15. I would assume so, too. The authors of the new policy will be at work on Monday, and I will be sure to ask them for clarification then.
  16. The advice I have now received is that yes, nude images taken in SL (as opposed to RL nude photos, which would be OT for SL) are now allowed in the Adult Forums.
  17. My interpretation of the surface meaning of the words "No Nudity or Adult Content: All content posted on the Second Life Forums must be rated “General” per our Maturity Ratings. Keep in mind, this does not include content posted specifically in the 'Adult Content Forum' section" is that the general prohibition on Nudity and Adult Content presumably does not apply to content posted specifically in the Adult Content Forum (I can't think what else the qualification might mean), but since you messaged me about it, I've sent a message to the member of the Governance team on duty today (it being a weekend) to ask them to confirm this, and am waiting for a reply. As soon as I receive one, I'll reply to you.
  18. You're welcome to start another thread to discuss the issues raised by that thread as they concern Second Life. However, if it goes off into wider discussions about social media and how they might be weaponised, then it will be closed, because that's a debate that could take place anywhere.
  19. Since the thread has drifted off into far wider issues than the original topic, I think the time has come to close it.
  20. Please let's not get into a discussion of the political leanings of British newspapers, a subject which is really not on topic for either this thread or these forums.
  21. I've just had to remove several posts to keep this thread on its original topic, which is Could Linden Lab even clean up Second Life if they wanted to? Discussions of what "woke" means, and whether being woke is a good thing or not, are not on topic for this thread and, in the light of the new forum guidelines would, I think, best be held somewhere other than these forums. If you receive a message saying I've removed your post, please don't be too upset about it -- it doesn't mean we're about to suspend your account, or anything like that. It's just a notification that I've removed the post. That's all. It doesn't necessarily mean there's anything particularly wrong with the post itself, other than that it quotes from another post that has been removed, or makes no sense without its context. As a general rule, I think it would be a good idea if people don't reply to posts they think are taking the thread off topic, since it only makes more work for the moderators.
  22. https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Clarification_of_policy_disallowing_ageplay Esta é a minha tradução automática do texto oficial inglês:
  23. I've just had to remove a load of posts, and several people have messaged me to ask why. Basically, the thread is supposed to be about Discrimination rules to be added to TOS?, not avatar physics and bounce. Jokes about something some's said are one thing, but the thread was well on the way to being derailed, so I've had to pull a lot of posts to try to get it back on track. If you want to talk about bouncy avatar physics, fine, but please start a thread on the topic. Don't use this thread for a conversation that's nothing to do with the original topic.
  24. Gentle reminder that, fascinating though these topics doubtless are, aliens, colonisation, horse breeding and Salvador Dali aren't really on topic for a thread about Meta.
  25. A few observations from the Moderators' side of the screen that people might find helpful. First, all reporting something here does is ensure that one of us sees the post and considers whether it's in breach of any of the forum guidelines. Quite often it isn't, and we simply mark the report accordingly. If you see something you think is against the guidelines, then please report it if you think that's appropriate. All you're doing is saying "please take a look at this". Second, we can, and do, moderate posts before anyone reports them, if we see something we think is against the guidelines. And we do watch particularly active threads and ones about potentially explosive topics. Third, I don't really think "AR parties" take place very often, if at all. Generally, when we see multiple reports of the same post it's because there's something clearly wrong -- it's very obviously in the wrong forum or seriously in breach of one of the rules. Often it’s because someone is "naming and shaming" a merchant, club-owner, or landlord with whom they have a grievance, or an ex-partner, or has posted a nude image, or it indicates one of those foul-mouthed nuisances with whom we have now and again must play "whack-a-troll" has reappeared. When there does seem to a concerted effort to report someone (often because someone seems to have it in for their landlord or for a competitor) it doesn't make much difference -- either the post is a sufficiently serious breach of the rules and guidelines that moderation is necessary or it isn't, and we don't take the number of reports into account when assessing that.
