  1. I would assume so, too. The authors of the new policy will be at work on Monday, and I will be sure to ask them for clarification then.
  2. The advice I have now received is that yes, nude images taken in SL (as opposed to RL nude photos, which would be OT for SL) are now allowed in the Adult Forums.
  3. My interpretation of the surface meaning of the words "No Nudity or Adult Content: All content posted on the Second Life Forums must be rated “General” per our Maturity Ratings. Keep in mind, this does not include content posted specifically in the 'Adult Content Forum' section" is that the general prohibition on Nudity and Adult Content presumably does not apply to content posted specifically in the Adult Content Forum (I can't think what else the qualification might mean), but since you messaged me about it, I've sent a message to the member of the Governance team on duty today (it being a weekend) to ask them to confirm this, and am waiting for a reply. As soon as I receive one, I'll reply to you.
  4. You're welcome to start another thread to discuss the issues raised by that thread as they concern Second Life. However, if it goes off into wider discussions about social media and how they might be weaponised, then it will be closed, because that's a debate that could take place anywhere.
  5. Since the thread has drifted off into far wider issues than the original topic, I think the time has come to close it.
  6. Please let's not get into a discussion of the political leanings of British newspapers, a subject which is really not on topic for either this thread or these forums.
  7. I've just had to remove several posts to keep this thread on its original topic, which is Could Linden Lab even clean up Second Life if they wanted to? Discussions of what "woke" means, and whether being woke is a good thing or not, are not on topic for this thread and, in the light of the new forum guidelines would, I think, best be held somewhere other than these forums. If you receive a message saying I've removed your post, please don't be too upset about it -- it doesn't mean we're about to suspend your account, or anything like that. It's just a notification that I've removed the post. That's all. It doesn't necessarily mean there's anything particularly wrong with the post itself, other than that it quotes from another post that has been removed, or makes no sense without its context. As a general rule, I think it would be a good idea if people don't reply to posts they think are taking the thread off topic, since it only makes more work for the moderators.
  8. https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Clarification_of_policy_disallowing_ageplay Esta é a minha tradução automática do texto oficial inglês:
  9. I've just had to remove a load of posts, and several people have messaged me to ask why. Basically, the thread is supposed to be about Discrimination rules to be added to TOS?, not avatar physics and bounce. Jokes about something some's said are one thing, but the thread was well on the way to being derailed, so I've had to pull a lot of posts to try to get it back on track. If you want to talk about bouncy avatar physics, fine, but please start a thread on the topic. Don't use this thread for a conversation that's nothing to do with the original topic.
  10. Gentle reminder that, fascinating though these topics doubtless are, aliens, colonisation, horse breeding and Salvador Dali aren't really on topic for a thread about Meta.
  11. A few observations from the Moderators' side of the screen that people might find helpful. First, all reporting something here does is ensure that one of us sees the post and considers whether it's in breach of any of the forum guidelines. Quite often it isn't, and we simply mark the report accordingly. If you see something you think is against the guidelines, then please report it if you think that's appropriate. All you're doing is saying "please take a look at this". Second, we can, and do, moderate posts before anyone reports them, if we see something we think is against the guidelines. And we do watch particularly active threads and ones about potentially explosive topics. Third, I don't really think "AR parties" take place very often, if at all. Generally, when we see multiple reports of the same post it's because there's something clearly wrong -- it's very obviously in the wrong forum or seriously in breach of one of the rules. Often it’s because someone is "naming and shaming" a merchant, club-owner, or landlord with whom they have a grievance, or an ex-partner, or has posted a nude image, or it indicates one of those foul-mouthed nuisances with whom we have now and again must play "whack-a-troll" has reappeared. When there does seem to a concerted effort to report someone (often because someone seems to have it in for their landlord or for a competitor) it doesn't make much difference -- either the post is a sufficiently serious breach of the rules and guidelines that moderation is necessary or it isn't, and we don't take the number of reports into account when assessing that.
  12. I think it would be wise to steer clear of general historical and sociological questions. There's clearly a discussion to be had about cultural pluralism but this is not, I fear, the place to hold it.
  13. On the subject of syntax files, does anyone know if the LSL definitions for Sublime Text is being maintained and, if so, where I can find an update that includes the most recent additions (OBJECT_TEXT and so on)? Alternatively, how do I add them manually? I've got as far as adding OBJECT_TEXT to LSLConstants.sublime-completions so that it shows up as an autocomplete item, but I seem to need to do something else to make Sublime Text recognise it as a constant and, when I run the syntax checker, to stop claiming OBJECT_TEXT has not been declared.
  14. This thread seems to be drifting well away from the original topic, which was, if I properly understood it, the propriety, or otherwise, of selling, in SL, outfits associated with US paramilitary groups. It would be best, I think, to try to keep it on topic.
  15. No, you found the House Controller outside, not the House Control Panel, which is located inside, near the front door. It's the Control Panel you need. https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:New_Linden_Homes_2019
  16. I'm locking this thread too, while I see advice from Governance about whether the SL forums are an appropriate place to discuss matters like this.
  17. Since I'm not sure there's anything that can usefully be added to the video, and since I don't think any of us want to see this thread devolve into a fight over gun control and the Second Amendment, I'm locking the thread at least until tomorrow, when I can seek guidance from Governance on whether to unlock it.
  18. Since the OP now has all the information they need, I think it's time to close this thread before it goes down any more rabbit holes.

I am not sure I understand the problem -- it may be an issue with my automatic translation -- but if replies are going to an old email address, I think the best thing to do is log out of your account, go to https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/ and choose the option Continue As Guest. Then you can explain the problem and provide your new email address. If this isn't what you need, please tell me and I'll ask one of the Dutch Moles if they can asssist.
  21. I hope you reported it. It would obviously be against the Bellisseria covenant, but we can't act on infractions unless we're told about them.
  22. This really should not need saying, but bickering, airing personal grievances and making unprovable allegations about other residents' supposedly underhand practices when changing homes are as off-topic here as they are in the thread When did you last see a Bellisserian home available? Starting afresh, or anywhere else in these forums. Take it IMs, please, or Reddit or Facebook or somewhere that's not the Official SL Forums.
  23. Better this thread got locked than the pet peeves one, I guess, but I don't think a thread intended to facilitate a discussion that would, if held elsewhere, get another thread locked was ever going to end well.
  24. It would be better not to do that -- moderators can see all posts' edit histories, so it's not necessary, and it simply complicates any subsequent clean-up of the thread.
