  1. I don't think we put any sugar in our black puddings in the UK https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/howto/guide/all-you-need-know-about-black-pudding
  2. Since I'm sure demons earn far more than do moles (Let none admire That riches grow in hell; that soil may best Deserve the precious bane) why should I fill my fridge with things for you to scoff? Though, since I'm good-natured and generous, tell me what you like and I'll consider getting some in.
  3. To my mind, this thread is a place for friendly and light-hearted discussion about things that peeve us, not for heated debate about matters on which we have strongly-held views. (My pet peeves include having to clean up and lock threads).
  4. It's only really an issue with Linden Homes, I think, because it seems to go away the first time someone who can modify the object interacts with the build, which would normally be the owner, and even if the owner doesn't have mod rights, the delays inherent in using a faux rezzer give house components enough time to rez properly and allow the issue to cure itself (if they have it in the first place). Fortunately, it's very easily remedied -- just go off the parcel, stand next to the house controller, rez a new version of the house, and give it 30 seconds or so to settle itself down before entering. Rezzing a new Linden Home fixes most things that might go wrong with them, though if you've used Dyna's HUD to apply a custom colour scheme, you need to make a note of it, because that isn't preserved, though the new house will remember the decorating choices you've made using the menu.
  5. Can't help with the group notices issue, but if it's a Linden Home, then Please make sure you and your partner are standing outside -- actually off the parcel, near the house controller, is safest -- when you rez the house, and don't try to enter or interact with it for 30 seconds after it rezzes. There's some weird bug that no one understands which can often cause the house physics to go wrong otherwise. If that doesn't fix it, drag the whole contents of the house up in the air, well above the roof, before rezzing a new house. Then go inside (after it's had 30 seconds or so to settle down, obviously) and walk around. If you can, then that means one of your objects has a strange physics shape, so return them to their original position one by one (CTRL - Z helps here) to try to identify the culprit. It's often something really odd -- an object in a different room that you wouldn't suspect could be blocking anything.
  6. Some of us, in addition to the work we do for LDPW, also help out the Governance team in moderating the forums. We can, and do, remove posts, lock threads and and issue warnings and short suspensions from the forums, in accordance with LL's guidelines and in consultation with the Governance team.
  7. With regret, I have to agree with you. I wanted to keep the thread open because there were some interesting and useful discussions going on, but then things went a bit crazy. I've tried to remove the off-topic posts, which has meant removing replies to them, too, since they would make no sense without context, and the sheer number I've had to take out doesn''t give me much hope for the future of the thread. If anyone wants to continue serious discussions about look at or other viewer features in new threads, please feel free. But please refrain from personal attacks, no matter how justified they may be, because this isn't the place for them.
  8. Please folks, keep it civil and, if you really must start attacking each other, do it somewhere else.
  9. Since the issue now seems resolved, I'm locking this. If anyone wants to reopen the discussion in a new thread, though, please feel free so to do.
  10. Friendly reminder that if people aren't interested in particular threads, there's no obligation to read and comment on them.
  11. No two houses have ever used the exact same code, let alone two themes. Broadly similar, yes, but each of them is always going to require a considerable amount of individual attention.
  12. Most regions on Bellisseria have somewhere between 20--23 parcels for houses on them. Some have a couple more, some have considerably fewer. As Abnor has explained several times, LDPW carry the Land Impact for all the houses and house controllers, plus all the roadways, trees, rocks, bushes, flowers, particles and other land- and soundscaping, and we have to leave a margin to allow for everyone rezzing the house with the highest LI and maxing out the LI on their parcel with their own objects, and then we have to leave a margin to allow for a few vehicles entering the region. Remember you get to use the full LI for the parcel -- we (LDPW) carry the LI for all the houses.
  13. Since, despite my hint about staying on topic, the thread seems now to be about family structures rather than NFTs, I think it's time to lock it.
  14. This thread seems to be going badly off topic, and not in a good way.
  15. Some posts didn't seem to make a lot of sense without the ones to which they were replying, so I removed those too as part of my clean-up.
  16. I'm using Second Life Release 6.5.1.566335 (64bit) and this is what I see:
  17. This is just my advice rather than anything official, but I wouldn't worry too much about running scripts, since bypassing that restriction is trivially simple for ill-intentioned as well as for legitimate scripters (and for good reason, otherwise vehicles and AOs would keep breaking), and I find that turning it on generally serves only to irritate innocent parties. LDPW normally set community areas, for example to allow everyone to run scripts. The important restrictions are on object entry and building -- those should certainly be set to group only, or it's an invitation to griefers.
  18. In a case like this, I'd strongly advise checking both the various parcel settings and the relevant group roles and permissions, and perhaps trying to find an in-world class on how to manage them. That's where the problem is, I'm sure -- people can move or modify your objects only if they have the appropriate abilities, which generally are ones you've granted them, whether intentionally or not. Try to find a class for new landowners -- land and group permissions are both subtle and powerful, and it really pays to spend a bit of time learning how they work. They're not terribly complicated but it does help to have someone explain them to you, as I discovered when first I became a landowner years ago.
  19. This issue is now in our internal jira, along with a note to myself of what I think needs attention, so it should be fixed the next time we bring out the Swaginator. Sorry for the inconvenience, and many thanks for everyone's help with the detailed accounts -- that's really saved me a lot of time.
