  1. This really should not need saying, but bickering, airing personal grievances and making unprovable allegations about other residents' supposedly underhand practices when changing homes are as off-topic here as they are in the thread When did you last see a Bellisserian home available? Starting afresh, or anywhere else in these forums. Take it IMs, please, or Reddit or Facebook or somewhere that's not the Official SL Forums.
  2. Better this thread got locked than the pet peeves one, I guess, but I don't think a thread intended to facilitate a discussion that would, if held elsewhere, get another thread locked was ever going to end well.
  3. It would be better not to do that -- moderators can see all posts' edit histories, so it's not necessary, and it simply complicates any subsequent clean-up of the thread.
  4. Something seems to have escalated rather rapidly, so I've locked this thread while I try to discover what on earth is going on.
  5. Because the Terms of Service, to which you agreed when you opened the account, say (Section 4.1) https://www.lindenlab.com/tos#tos4
  6. Nem tudom, mennyire jól fordít magyar és angol között, de a DeepL fordítóprogram általában nagyon jól működik. https://www.deepl.com/translator
  7. Since people seem agreed the thread has run its course, I'm closing it. Thanks everyone.
  8. This seems to be a dispute about an item that was not delivered. All you can do in such cases is take the matter up with the merchant involved. These forums are not the appropriate place to raise complaints, no matter how justified they may be, about individual residents and their stores.
  9. Gun control and school shootings are, I think, well off-topic for this thread. Can we please try to stick to the topic of virtual worlds and social media?
  10. I removed it because it didn't make much sense without the context of the post to which you were responding, which I had also removed.
  11. I've moved the post under discussion, and several follow-up posts, to the Adult General Discussion forum Perhaps people will choose to use that thread for their more borderline images in future. ETA If anyone does post there, please remember that the Community Participation Guidelines apply to the Adult Content forum just as much as they do here, including the prohibition on posting nude images. https://community.secondlife.com/forums/topic/403538-community-participation-guidelines/
  12. Please, remember that personal disputes with other posters are off-topic for this thread and, indeed, these forums. If you think you have a grievance with someone, no matter how justified it is, this is not the place to air it. Take it to IMs.
  13. Personal disputes are getting out of hand so I'm locking this thread for a while to give people time to calm down.
  14. You can read more about the House Controller here: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:New_Linden_Homes_2019#House_controllers That Wiki page has a great deal of useful information about many aspects of Linden Homes, and is a very valuable resource.
  15. If I recall correctly (I didn't script the lamps) the touch events respond only to Lindens and Moles, to turn them on for 10 seconds and then off again automatically, so that they can be tested and QA-ed at any time. Otherwise, they turn on and off according to the time of day on the region, as Abnor and others have noted.
  16. Thanks. That should fix it. Just to clarify, it's only custom RGB colours you've created and applied using the HUD that get lost when you rez a new house. Textures and other settings should be persistent.
  17. I'm not sure a recycled edible waffle sounds particularly appetising, but chacun à son goût.
  18. Can we please avoid discussions of Nick Clegg's previous political career? As a Brit myself, I have my own views on him and his party, but I doubt they'd be of much interest to anyone other than other Brits, and they would certainly not be on-topic for this thread.
  19. Please, folks, take the interpersonal sniping and bickering somewhere else. It is off-topic for this thread.
  20. That wasn't specifically what I had in mind, but it's an example of why it's a good precaution always to have the rezzed object to ping the rezzer to ask for any data it needs (or, as Quistess suggests, to pass a hashed key as the start parameter).
  21. If you're trying to send a message to the rezzed object, to give it the key of the resident whose experience perms the object is to request, then it's always safest to have the object ping the rezzer in the the on_rez event to confirm that it's rezzed successfully, opened a listener and is ready to receive messages. Never rely on an object being able to hear messages as soon as it rezzes -- always have it ping the rezzer first, because there can, depending on what else is happening on the region easily be a second or so's delay before it's ready to receive messages and the simulator is ready to deliver them.
  22. When a thread is this old, it really is best to leave it alone and, if necessary, start a new one.
  23. According to this, it means "paradox". https://www.wordhippo.com/what-is/the-meaning-of/japanese-word-19bbde1210bc11e99bcbd74a911f1b7c9f425113.html (which is what our list, checked by someone whose first language is Japanese, says it means)
  24. I moved it in response to requests from residents that it be moved because it seemed more a photography thread than one about avatars, and I agreed. The normal Community Participation Guidelines continue to apply, of course, including My saying this probably won't do any good, but it really wouldn't be a good idea for anyone to use the thread to try to push the boundaries in an attempt to find out how spicy is too spicy.
