  1. No other way, but to edit each affected shoebase and put a transparent texture into a fabric field. If some are no mod and not fixable, then those have to be replaced by the mod ones. I suppose only other way around is to not use any shoebase and just change hover height in quick preferences, assuming you're using FS, according to the shoes/boots you're using.
  2. Lucybody is 2018-ish I think, at least current version is, unless I mix it with some other free body. By that time Maitreya was already unreachable by Belleza and anyone else, so yes, it would. Also don't forget that "true freebie hunters" don't really contritube much to the "maitreya eco-system" in most cases. The best case scenario is someone getting it, buying some decent clothes and then upgrading into the "real thing", which is maitreya, because the free one is just not as good. But some might choose other bodies too as freebies clothes they did pick up for it are not worth much. The usual case scenario - they just get free stuff for their free body, and that's it. Maitreya gets nothing out of it, creators who do maitreya sizes get nothing of it. It's also just 9.8k on the Lucia's list, while Maitreya is at 136k at this moment. So it's not even most popular freebie body (TMP's classic female one is).
  3. Can't say I like the look and no alpha cuts is a very limiting factor given how UV is, but I saw a size for it in the newest toksik's release I've just got. Not unexpected given their avatars preferences, but either way here it is. It'll be up at the Kustom9 in a day, but there's a cam sim, so it's possible to grab it early if someone wants to.
  4. Lelutka just did what LL can't without destroying the old content - fixed awful default UV that has a decent amount of unused space. And as shown by its success - it's pretty much what people wanted Now, like Anna said, if only someone did same for bodies. But as far as the female body market goes only one that would manage to start the trend would be Maitreya, but she is rather inactive creator as far as innovations go, so I wouldn't count on it.
  5. Good CSRs are, well, good and useful. But since most creators don't consider SL their job, but more like a hobby, a lot of CSRs are often just their friends and many of them are rather terrible at "basic communication". I didn't kept the track, but I'd say around 75% are great to deal with, the last 25% are 50/50 between useless and terrible, though. By useless I mean no answer/non-answer/not fixing anything even after accepting the fact there's a problem. Terrible ones are just rude, blame the user and so on. And yes, quite a few are passive-aggressive and overly protective of their "precious creator status" too and keep that "I know better, because I'm a creator" attitude. Those I don't deal with anymore if such experience happens.
  6. Some creators are just like that. I remember seeing some "reasoning" on those forums as for why they didn't like/made copy-able furniture is because they didn't want people to just buy one and use it for themselves, friends, clubs and so on. Which is beyond silly (being polite here, otherwise there are more fitting words). And I remember another furniture maker in-world, many many years ago was being all hostile and put out some ToS how his stuff could't be used in rentals-skyboxes (rezzers, basically). I think he left SL shortly after that accident. Thankfully those creators are a minority, otherwise we would be buying ladscape tools tree by tree, flower by flower etc. Or, the horror, those are usable everywhere in SL and creators gets nothing if people help each other to make their homes/places more pretty and rezz for each other. But the most, from what I know, actually enjoy seeing their creations being used and appreciated by so many people.
  7. Depends on the hair's rigging. Most not ultra long hair are not rigged to those bones, so butt down deformer does work just fine. If you want to test, go grab a demo of Magika's Unravel hair, it definitely sticks into Reborn's butt without butt down deformer and fits just fine with, at least assuming the non extreme butt size sliders. Now super long ones, like recent few by Aii, that go below butt and some even to the ankles level, those are rigged differently and the same deformers actually affect them as well, so in that case if there's an issue, then deformers won't help like you've said.
  8. Most likely "yes" as they had a black friday sale for 3 years in a row, but nothing has been confirmed yet. People on their discord server ask that a lot lately. I would definitely wait 2 weeks at this point. For Xmas I don't remember them doing any sales, though, last two years they had major giveaways of female and male heads instead. But difficult to say if they'll do same year too, especially consider how some people acted after giveaway ended last year. They had all dates perfectly listed, and yet some people who didn't bother to read were very vocal about how "disappointed they are" and how "terrible Lelutka is" for "ending it early". So their staff was rather discouraged by those.
  9. Except for LL, since it's their platform. So should they decide it's time to up the minimum reqs by removing some low end options, which would be removing that renderer, then I suppose you'll be free to try and maintain it in your viewer somehow. Options are good, that I agree with, but when some options start to affect the progress, it's time to drop those options. LL doesn't exactly have a big dev team as is, so if it becomes a matter of upgrading SL to be at least a tiny bit closer to the modern standards (and not taking years with those updates, like bento, animesh or EEP took) or maintaining some of those old options, then I'd rather have LL try and move forward. Also while SL is not exactly a MMORPG, but it's similar enough in a way that it's an online service that has been around for a long time. Some of them did, in fact, made huge engine/graphics upgrades and as you can expect, those upgrades did increase the minimum reqs by quite a lot. Did it affect people on the low end machines who couldn't run their favorite game anymore? Absolutely. But I'd say it's the lesser of evils than just let the game die because it's not up to the current standards anymore. Depends on the product those users might not be buying that stuff anyway. Never seen reviews on the MP where people complain that something is "just a black texture", for example a latex catsuit that only looks good with ALM on? And yes, those are much better than those ancient options with baked "white reflections". So there are cases when some creators would actually want people to upgrade their PC first, so they'd finally become potential customers after seeing their creations as they are meant to be seen.
  10. Not liking is one thing, but asking LL to make it against ToS is silly. With how long you are in SL you should have got by now that land (aside of LL owned), groups, stores etc are all managed at how their owners want to and you have absolutely zero rights to be in those/use those in the first place, even less so to make rules. Don't like those? Find another, like Sid said, or make yours. That aside, LL are mostly to blame for that, at least those people from LL who made it that way back then. Group chat is barely functional even in the small groups, and completely broken in large groups because of how it was made long long ago (some of its functions tied to the land and checking online status (I believe) of every single member). Imagine how well giant groups like Lelutka (275k members) did work before they've disabled the group chat. CSRs and other helpful users did their best to provide tech support and other kinds of help to those who needed it, but it's impossible when messages get lost non stop. So in many cases it's also a very much a forced move, because it's either Discord or no chat at all. And it usually adds work to CSRs because what could be solved in the group chat easily, like the cases when people can't find a vendor, don't know how to gift something to someone etc, i.e. stuff other users can help with, not just CSRs/creators themselves, now gets sent to CSRs, especially by people who can't be bothered or don't know how to use Discord.
  11. It's not solved. Unless your definition of solved is "good enough for a moment to take a picture". How you and everyone else see you when this issue is present purely depends on how your (or their) viewer orders blended layers. So like I already wrote earlier, it's not a fix. And this is exactly why it doesn't happen on the same combination of clothes/outfits.
  12. Just the principle of not paying anyone little extra? With smaller landlords I get why, one day they are here and another they are not. Lots of headache to setup it all again even if you'd make a backup of all builds. But the day when Chung empire vanishes from SL will be the day when whole SL dies (unless LL would buy their business like they did with Casper). That's thousands of regions and not just residental, but also a great amount of stores, clubs, events and so on. They are far from the cheapest option compared to some smaller landlords, but I suppose such safety is worth it. Not arguing or anything, do it how it works the best for you, just curious. ---- Either way, this offer doesn't really interest me in any way. I do have a full region (directly from LL) for a numbers of years already, but even if I didn't, then this PP+homestead combination would be absolutely last option I'd go for if I needed/wanted region or a homestead. Not cheaper than renting a homestead and premium/pp perks are absolutely worthless to me. Group slots would be nice to have, but not 29k L$ (that's counting full price of PP minus 650/week stipends) kind of nice.
  13. Unless they are meant to be transparent/sheer, then it definitely just creator forgetting to set texture alpha mode to none. I did encounter plenty of things like that, not just clothing, but some rezzables. An easy fix if it's mod, but in cases like your outfit, you'd have to ask the creator to fix that and send the updates to those who have bought it. Some will do it and even thank you for letting them know, and some won't bother and blame anything, but themselves for that.
  14. Option 1: If outfit is mod, edit it and set alpha mode (under texture tab) to alpha masking or none. The latter will only work if an outfit/dress is not meant to be transparent, and alpha masking can make it look rather odd too, but still worth a try. if it's no mod, then nothing you can do about outfit itself. Option 2: Use short hair. Most hair these days are no mod, including magika ones you're wearing, but even if they were, then changing from blending to masking on the hair that were made with blending in mind in 9/10 cases makes them look awful no matter what mask cutoff you'd choose. All the temporary "fixes" you see by messing with the HUD, right clicking the hair or the dress, zooming out and back are purely local and don't fix anything, but temporarily change the order your viewer renders those transparent layers.
  15. I've seen some tolerable templates here and there, mostly in cases they were modded a lot, but usually they are pretty bad. Rigging wise too. Might be because those template creators usually just mass produce them with nearly all possible sizes included. Now if the budget is a problem, then for some it still might be a good deal, especially if they want more than 1-2 colors, but as always with SL there's an alternative to them, so I tend to just pick up higher quality and better fitted/rigged things. I also always inspect what I demo/buy. From accessories and clothes to rezzables. So no, I don't buy templates by accident. More difficult with Turbosquid, CGTrader and similar sites, of course, but if it's a creator I never heard of, and especially if they are new to SL and their style is all over the place, I usually check there too. And often find things those creators have "made" there. Thankfully being around for a while it's easy enough to find enough of stores that are original, good at what they do and support them instead. For the new, less esperienced and less techy people it's a much bigger problem, though. That can be fun at times, but also most time consuming thing ever when you need something simple and no one offers/makes it. I did that in the past, because I always liked Lelutka heads, way before they became as popular as they are since Evo line's release. And Catwa was the only brand getting a good amount of content for years, then it was Catwa+Genus combination for a while longer. So getting something for Lelutka heads was a challenge. While finally finding it was rather satisfying I can't say I miss those times and enjoy having pretty much all the possible options instead. Saves a lot of time, money and makes more unique looks possible, because I'm not limited to just a few things/options.
  16. I did poke their JIRA about the blacklist feature a number of years ago, shortly after they've implented the favorites/wishlist features. It was ignored as many many other feature requests. "We can't tackle on this at this time." Kind of answer. But yeah, adding stores to such blacklist so they'd never appear in search would solve many problems MP has with that kind of stuff. It's an issue not just with clothes, but furniture, landscape stuff and much more. I sure do "love" to scroll through 2-3 (96/per) pages of badly assembled combinations of grasses+rocks+trees from one of those "creators" until something else shows up. Now if it would be a few rare cases then adding NOT <store name> into the search would help, but it's way too many. Plus usual keyword spam, which is "reportable", but I actually did bother with that a number of times, usually weeks later those reported items are still there with all their possible tags/keywords. Clothes just have it worse because it's more widely used products compared to landscape things. I don't. I'll still comment on the things I dislike, though, since it happened to be a forum. Negative opinion on something is still an opinion. And, of course, like everyone else you can have a completely different opinion on that matter, but it doesn't make it the only valid one.
  17. Of course it does matter. Having 10, 20 or even 100 of such "creators" releasing clothes for the body when it's basically same retextured things all over again is not what I'd ever call having a choice in clothing. Now when it's as badly supported body as this one is and someone still wants to use it, then yeah, doesnt' matter as much as it's either these kind of clothes or nothing at all. Then again I wouldn't call liking original creations "being a clothing snob". If budget is an issue there are always weekend sales as well as other kind of sales. Besides for the budget shopping those less supported bodies are just terrible to begin with. Might not get as curvy with good old Maitreya, but amount of freebies and gifts for it over all those years can make it a one-time investment into the body itself for the less picky people.
  18. As long as it's stable and there's no really big packet loss even 2-3mbps is enough. New/not cached places and avatars will rezz much slower, of course, but it'll be fine. Few years ago some building works completely destroyed a number of fiber cables in my city, so until they did clean up the mess and managed to restore it I had to use absolutely terrible mobile connection (I don't really use internet on the phone, so not paying more for the higher speed). It's around 1.5 down/0.5 up, has a packet loss (especially during evenings) and SL still was "okay" on it. Didn't even got disconnected once not counting usual TP disconnects.
  19. Same deal with Freya. I think it's mostly just people who don't really update/change after they've got a body and head. Well, some who actually like it too, I suppose. But there's still tons of people wearing Catwa Catya too, around 15.8k on that list if I remember right. Regular/popular places barely have any of them, however. But some adult-kinky places that always were very outdated compared to the rest of the grid (on average, you can still find avatars with all recent events releases there too, just less of them), so there's a great amounts of those catyas still even these days.
  20. We'll see in a few months, but only one of my favorite stores released one thing for it, it was on their X event. Their yesterday's update for one older release only had Legacy F+M and Reborn sizes already. And not like some relatively big (and decent) stores don't release some stuff for the very much dead bodies, like Hourglass or Freya. Pixicat does both for example, but it doesn't make those bodies any less dead. Slow updates to re-run same older releases on weekend sales again I can see happening. Given long enough pause between those it'll attract not just users who want an updated size, but also new people (or alts that want to grab their favorite things for cheaper). I've seen stores do exactly that with first Legacy updates, then Kupra, then Reborn. Might as well do with Gen X again. One - two new sizes to rig, all texturing and scripting is done already.
  21. Full regular legacy F body with hands/feet has around 14k complexity. Reborn is 2.4k, which is much less (not that those numbers are any relevant, though). Initial 1.4 Legacy update had issue with high complexity (new 1.69.4 Reborn actually had the same issue, but was hotfixed right away), so check you don't use that one if you care about those numbers.
  22. Not the only one, obviously, but seems to be in the minority. Whenever I check someone with Reborn on, it's at the very least the small butt or the small butt and down deformer, often entire set of those from pretty liars. In most cases anyway. It'll be one impossible climb unless they'll do something. Honestly, I don't even know what they should do now to make it happen. Put bodies on the permanent 50% sale like they did with their older bodies would be a start, but it might need even more than that. Some creators that were on their X event already didn't include X sizes into their next releases. On the Lucia's list curvy one went up 10 units since the last time I posted here (a week ago), classic by 4. Reborn went up by 310 last week (they had 25% sale, though) and is now over 10k. With upcoming black friday sale which will probably have at least another 25% sale or better, I can see it getting over 11.5k in the early December. I'm not sure Belleza will do any sale so early after the release, considering the event those bodies were released at will end just 3.5 weeks before the black friday. So far those gen X bodies look pretty much dead. Maybe not Kups kind of dead (they just gave away 2k free bodies on the event and on the list it only had like 90 new users detected so far), and especially not like the cinnamon & chai body, but redundant in the current oversatured market.
  23. Some alpha blended grass/shrubs/trees (and that's just one example of such content) will push your GPU much more, especially if there's a lot of that stuff around. Download GPU-Z sometime and check how bad it is if you want to. I didn't test recently with performance viewer updates, though. But before a few batches of such grass if looked up closely would up 3070's utilization by good 30%. And slower/older, but still decent for SL cards (like 1070/1650) would just peak at 99% and stay there until you'd zoom out enough.
  24. Pretty much. White list with slightly more limited access than an owner would have.
  25. Complexity number at its current state is rather irrelevant as it was played with for years. I don't really like to repeat myself, but here is a wonderful example. That's older non bento head by a mesh head creator that used to be most popular back then (thankfully not anymore). Almost 4m triangles, 9.2k compexity. One of rare things that used to lag my viewer during inspection back in the days. And then you can have relatively light unrigged attachment (mesh too) that is times as "complex" at the fraction of triangles. ~3x less VRAM usage too. LL were going to change how it's calculated, but not sure they will do it anytime soon, if ever.
