  1. It's about Slink Petite, which was actually a thing for sometime, mostly Hourglass Petite rigs. I've seen a few stores putting up a warning for Maitreya users when Petite addon was out to pay extra attention to what petite size it was. But since Slink is pretty much dead, especially its petite addon, it's the issue only for someone who shops on the MP and digs far enough into older releases.
  2. SL's servers located around Oregon's AWS cluster, so if traffic from you to SL/AWS goes through the affected routes, then you'll have an issue regardless of location. It'll probably get fixed sometime soon(ish), but meanwhile it has gotten a bit worse in the last couple of hours. PSN and SL died for me around 2 hours ago (also Europe). Edit: Routing seems to be fixed now.
  3. There is some connectivity issues affecting some routing towards US West and US East AWS. PSN is partially broken for some users (online play is fine, some features are not), Xbox Live, DayZ and more. As usual with such problems it only affects certain routes, so if you're routed through the affected route, then you will have such problem, while others won't. You may check on AWS test page if you get any timeouts to their servers. https://ec2-reachability.amazonaws.com/
  4. That's probably the case. It was a better deal with Premium Plus (1 month) as well. 25$ for one month and 15$ for the name change. 40$ vs 52$ with normal Premium's month of 12$ and the 40$ name change price (before this pricing update). 650L$/week vs 300 as well, for the extra ~5.7$ difference (after 4 weeks), making it 34.3$ in total. It's still going to be the best value after this change and when the promo offer for PP will end soon, 30$+15$-5.7$=39.3$. Price is still way too high for the name change, even though my "main" had it ever since it was introduced over 2 years ago. But hey, it sells, based on the amount of new "last namers" I see around, so don't think they'll lower it much more.
  5. You can ask Lucia (bot's creator) if it is. But as far as big events go... their owners are usually not the ones who are willing to listen to any suggestions, be it about better user experience, layouts, booth prices and everything else. So I kinda doubt they'd bother to run a bot just to collect the data for the creators.
  6. Which is a good thing, in my opinion. Then again I'm somewhat biased towards Lelutka and their subtle moods as I've been using their mesh head since pre-bento days, it's when those 3.5m triangles Catwa heads were everywhere and 99% of content was made for them. Animations wise, however, I always found Catwa to be exaggerated to the point it already looks cartoon-ish and, well, pretty much awful. The fact their heads come (Or used to? Can't say I paid much attention to HDPro heads as I find them absolutely terrible looking.) with all animations enabled by default doesn't help the case. More experienced users find their way to disable ones they don't need rather quickly, but new people/less techy ones... well, it's usually a little disaster as they stick to the default shape, default skin and keep those animations on. So it's winking, sticking the tongue out and other grimaces non stop. /me shrugs Anyways, I agree about not bothering with AK or any other free/cheap/not supported heads if someone can afford a EvoX head and a decent skin. They are in a league of their own, which is visible through entire grid ever since Evolution line's release, and even more so since EvoX release/update.
  7. Maitreya, Legacy, Reborn and, perhaps, Kupra as far as new releases go. Maitreya has been on the market for 7.5 years now, so obviously has far more content made for it, even if some is rather outdated by now. Some specific content that is trending lately (squishy/soft thighs/arms for example) is where Maitreya is not the best choice, since that type of content works and looks better on more curvy bodies, so while it has some available too, other bodies would be the better choice for that. For the male ones it's more complicated. Some creators dropped Jake when it wasn't updated for so long, some dropped Gianni because it's a pain to rig for, some just don't like Legacy. I'd still say Legacy>Gianni>Jake as far as new releases go, though. Ignore the rest, unless you want some specific look or release made just for those. Slink bodies are dead, Cinnamon&Chai was DOA (and is one of the less flexible mesh bodies I've ever seen), and Kalhene remains very niche (and will never catch up). Freya got phased out when it wasn't updated for ages (twice), and those who didn't jump the ship to Legacy or Kupra before, because one was too thin and other is too much, did so with Reborn, which seems to be a fine middle between those two.
  8. There's a newer post by Lucia that is also worth checking (I know you saw that thread, but perhaps TC did not). So based on those stats it doesn't look like Legacy is on decline or has peaked yet, it had 2321 new entires for the normal Legacy edition and 894 for the Perky version of it in 90 days. While Reborn, which is all the rage now, had 1780 new ones. Still will be interesting to see next round of stats whenever Lucia will publish it. Sadly what her stats don't and can't (probably) show is difference between bodies ratio based on the region's theme/content. For the easiest examples: I'm around some adult kinky themed regions from time to time for some RP and socializing, when I'm tired of shopping and building. I'd say it's good 90% Maitreya around those even these days. Lots of "tools" often used around those places are rigged to Maitreya only as well. And then big shopping events on the opening days are completely different, all I see around are Legacy+Reborn+Kupra, with very few other bodies mixed in. Doesn't mean Maitreya users don't shop, not to mention people swap between bodies all the time, but I would guess that avid shoppers are more likely to use non Maitreya bodies. There's also flickr community and I don't really remember any "big bloggers" there posting any pictures with Maitreya for ages (pretty much ever since Legacy release, even more so with Kupra and Reborn added to the mix). That said Maitreya still is default "to go with" body for many people. It's cheap, easy to use and aside of arms/shoulders is nearly perfect for the slim looks. Curvy Maitreya is "ehhh....", though, the butt deforms rather badly past certain amount of sliders (mostly visible if look from the side), and breasts don't look the best either. Deformers help a bit, but at this point it's already not really a Maitreya and depending on how strong deformers are, some clothing might fit pretty badly. Might as well just use more smooth/curvier body at this point. --- On a random note, as much as I dislike Legacy HUD, the horror stories about it are rather exaggerated. Web based part of it is needed for BoM activation (once) and the nails/toenails colors (was once for me too). Other 2 sections with alpha, feet shape etc work perfectly fine without media enabled (I always have it disabled pretty much) and doesn't require their server in any way (it did work when their server was down for maintenance a few times, I made sure to check). It's still a terrible design, I agree, but far less issue than people make it to be. Activate BoM/change nails color/polish, detach body, make a few backup copies just in case and done. --- Now actually to the TC's question. I know a few of such creators personally. No names/brands, obviously. Note that neither of them are new creators and most (if not all) did rig for Maitreya (if they made female clothes to begin with) before and have a devkit. None of them are on Blueberry/Addams/Deadwool scale, though, but you still can find them around popular events every now and then. Most common reason I heard is: their customer base doesn't need it, which they found by excluding Maitreya from a few releases and checking the sale numbers and amount of request to add Maitreya size. Time is money, and rigging it tiring, that's why most creators don't rig for every possible body on the market. So they've stopped. Other reason is: just disliking the body/kit, which was already mentioned in this thread, mixed in with same "rigging is tiring" fact. They are loving to create and not in for the profit much, although that pays their tier and gives them more than enough of pocket money to never buy L$ with real cash money again, and they are liking to be a part of creators community as well, so dropping extra profit for own sanity and happiness seems like a good deal. I know a couple of male accessories designers too, they have dropped Gianni for the very same reasons, even if it's one of the big 3 male bodies on the market.
  9. The joy of freedom of choices, people also free to get turned off by anything they see fit. Extra options, naming, colors of the menus and much more. As long as it's their personal opinion and they don't force it on others it's perfectly fine. While forcing such opinion, just like the forcing opinion of what other people should and shouldn't get turned off by, is never good. Either way, I think it wasn't successful because the lack of PR and being a direct competitor to Reborn. Which is one of the big 3 bodies on the market now. I don't like either, but if I wanted a more thick look, I'd go for one with more support, which is Reborn. It even pushed already established Kupra, so there was absolutely no way something else will fit its niche, not while Reborn is all new, fresh and trending anyway. Slink's new body also didn't took off the slighest, and it has no extra addons to blame for that. Similar reasons, same "thick" niche.
  10. It does have a very big butt indeed. It's actually not that much smaller than Kupra's, just very differently shaped. Kupra's bottom is more even at both back and front, while Reborn's is heavily towards back. You definitely should demo it some more and see if you can get it to your liking. Been a while since I did demo it myself, but I do remember that Legacy's butt at slider around ~25 is still much smaller than Reborn's at 0 and with included "butt down and small" deformer. You can also check the general shape diffirence between most bodies shapes on the same sliders by finding some outfit (or shorts/short skirt in this case) with all sizes included. Then just wear sizes for Legacy, Reborn, Kupra, Maitreya and any other body you want together. For even better visual difference it helps if it's either a fatpack or a demo, so you'd be able to put different textures onto each body size. Then just look around and see for yourself if something is "too much", then see if you can get it better while adjusting shape sliders some more. Sadly, like I said, with Reborn I couldn't get it small enough for my liking even with zero-ed sliders and deformers. Otherwise it's a decent body that is easy to use and outfit. Except some very specific clothes, mostly for the roleplaying if it's your thing. Like victorian/steampunk themes for example. Those are still primary for Maitreya only, with some odd Legacy size here and there for newer things, and Slink/Belleza sizes for older ones.
  11. Paying any attention to the current complexity formula is really pointless. It has been wrong, broken and played with for years by far too many creators. As Beq ( http://beqsother.blogspot.com ) has pointed a while ago, it's the alpha cuts that make actual difference if you care about performance to begin with. Legacy is still heavier than Reborn by around 1/4, but the latter has plenty of alpha cuts, so if you're the type to chase performance and fight for the "lag free world", then both are pretty bad (and maitreya is being only 1/8 lighter than Reborn as well). You may disable that annoying complexity number popping up in the viewer. In the firestorm it's preferences>notifications>alerts>warn me about about my avatar complexity changes. As for the body itself - if you like what you can do with it shape wise, then just get it. It's one of the big 3 supported female mesh bodies right now as far as new releases/shopping events go. Pretty rare to see something new that doesn't have a reborn size, although on the weekend sales it's more common to encounter some older and not updated things. On the other hand a bunch of creators has been updating older releases to reborn, so the very same weekend sales is a good way to catch up on its wardrobe while saving a bit of money. For me it simply has too big butt, even at the butt size slider set to 0 and with the included (or 3rd party) deformers it's huge. And because it is huge, other parts (mostly lower half of the body, thighs in particular) have to be on the thicker side too, otherwise you'll end with terrible proportions. And that's just not the look I want for my avatar. Which is totally fine, even from the first ads reborn creators has posted it was obvious that body is/was meant to be for people who want thicker thighs and bigger butts, not as extreme as kupra, but still thick enough. Nothing more or less, but personal preferences.
  12. Freya is nearly phased out by now as far as new event releases go. Some here and there, but I'd say not even 5% if you're looking for something more unique than 100th pair of jeans and tank top. It's Maitreya, Legacy and Reborn. Kupra lost tons of support too after Reborn got as popular as it is now as it mostly fills the same niche, while being closer to "normal"/freya look if tone down the shape and use included "smaller butt" deformer.
  13. Only if any big names will use it. Otherwise can't compare it to the EvoX. Lelutka already had the heads market with their Evolution line when they introduced EvoX UV, while Slink and especially that new body of hers... well, got pretty much zero support from the skin and clothing creators. Yes, there's a bit of stuff for it on the MP, but mostly either retextured templates or very small creators. Not sure I've seen anything on any top tier shopping events with its sizes. So while idea is the same as Lelutka's, just for the bodies, and I'm all for having better/more detailed skins and ditching an inefficient UVs, it won't happen unless "the big 3 body brands" gonna follow. And chances are - they won't, because it doesn't make any sense to follow any ideas from niche creators. If it ever happens it will be yet another UV and hyped by either of those brands as their original idea and how revolutionary it is. Maitreya is pretty quiet on social media, but if it would be reborn or legacy creators, then it will be all other flickr and fashion blogs for months, creating hype and generating sales.
  14. I totally agree. But also don't forget npc "babies". Maybe not all of them are THAT bad, but ones I was lucky enough to encounter as rezzed objects were beyond any sane limits on scripts. It was quite a while ago when I was still renting parcels, but those were using more than my avatar at that time. Each of them, and there were quite a few. It was more than enough to make the region I was renting at back then from "more than usable" state to a "nearly impossible to use".
  15. Option 1: Buy/wear old clothes and forget about new releases. Option 2: Forget about the "numbers are bad" thing and just use one of the supported bodies. Option 3: Wait until someone makes the light-weight body that also get some serious support (read as: gets an enormous PR company). Hint: In already oversaturated market it might be quite a long wait, besides latest two successful bodies being reborn and kupra should point on what kind of bodies the market after. Option 4: Move to the nude beaches. Best supported bodies on the market are maitreya, legacy and reborn. The former two sometimes have petite/perky sizes too, but it's the same-ish thing anyway. Kupra is still somewhat supported and due to the lack of the alpha cuts is down that list (still uses far too many triangles/vertices, though), but it's way into the "huge boobs and butt" territory. Freya still gets some rare love, but not much and is "bad" due to the alpha cuts.
  16. Foot height, nails style, neck fitting, default shininess and bumpiness, hiding/show layers (plus socks/gloves), hand poses and alpha cuts are all in the other part of the HUD that doesn't need media to work. So yeah, can't change nail polish, use applier skin and other appliers from the library and enable/disable neck fixer, which no one should ever enable to begin with. Media based HUD shouldn't be a thing, don't get me wrong, especially one that relies on 3rd party servers. But I don't think I've used it once after applying BoM for well over a year, and I don't intend to. Keeping a couple of ready-to-use copies of the body just in case is a good idea, though. Then again I keep such for the mesh heads, maitreya and so on. It's just easier and much faster to start experimenting with a setup copy, than go through initial setup each time I feel like trying something that could or would break the body or head, so doing it on the main worn ones is a bad idea. P.S. Your traceroute doesn't really show up anything. Servers are up now (not sure if they were down before), and trace still cuts. In many cases it's perfectly normal and very much depends on the configuration as some hops and servers do not respond to ICMP. Ping (or make a traceroute to) microsoft.com for example. It will be the same, but it doesn't mean it's down.
  17. Convenience and ease of use. Depends a lot of the earrings' style and type, though. If it's something simple, like an actual ring or two, then yeah, resizing it is very easy and fast. But if it's something complex with some extra rings and chains and whatever else creator added (RAWR had a few like that), then getting it "right" will be nearly impossible for some people. Plus some people change shapes and mesh heads often, making resizing such complex earrings even more of a hassle when they'd have to do it many times if they wanted to use it for their different looks, while rigged ones are "put on and forget".
  18. Same here. Never know when some redelivery system goes down or a merchant decides to quit sl without a single notice, so I have a backup folder with everything that's worth keeping. For blueberry you can get a redelivery right after purchasing their stuff, and it'll be boxed. At least it always was before; been a few months since I've got anything there. ----- As for the boxed demos. I don't really mind if it's something I want. Compared to amount of clicking required to use SL it's really nothing. I even know what outfit from Uber is mentioned here, and it's awesome.
  19. From ~75-90% scripts run before the last Autumn to ~60-65% during Autumn (still wonder why it dropped back then, although not really important now), to 100% with 2ms spare time after December server upgrades to 100% with 15ms spare time now (stats for my region). That's quite an improvement. I'm almost sad I can't even realisticly use half of those new resources, because I'll run out of land impact long before that, even if every single thing I'll rezz will be scripted. But it definitely does benefit some overloaded regions too. There's one store I check from time to time, with far too many vendors out, it was usually having less than 10% scripts run, and now around 85%.
  20. The definition of comfortable does vary quite a lot, just like in rl. Depends on activities, interests and needs. Some enjoy decorating and building, some are fine with just having a spot to rezz a box to unpack things if needed, which is usually either free (sandboxes, friends' homes etc) or very cheap (those 50-60L skyboxes would do just fine for that purpose). Same for the shopping. Some people need and want to have fatpacks of latest releases from all big events, some are fine with just a few things per month from weekend sales. I don't set myself a budget for things in SL. Not counting my region, of course. Some months there are more interesting releases that I want to get and use for new looks, outfits and builds. Usually around time when some specific events are open; Midnight Order and Engine Room would be a couple I'd mention for where I tend to spend a lot. And some months I just skip through events list quickly, get a few demos or take a look at things in-world and maybe get 1/10 of what I've demo-ed. Time is also very important factor. If I have more time for SL, I tend to look around my region and see if I want to change or upgrade something, which often leads to buying new furniture or decor. And if I'm busy with RL, then I usually don't bother as it's rather time consuming and I don't like to leave things unfinished for too long. So some months it can be as little as 50$ for the shopping purposes, and some are 200$+.
  21. Never did, and never will. I always teleport to my region as I dislike to login at random places, though.
  22. I agree with this. And have noticed it a few years ago. Only upside is less time needed to check all those events filled with seasonal stuff. Spring seems more or less clear from that, although if count summer/beach stuff as season things too, then it starts to show up from May/June rounds already and doesn't go away until it's time to replace it with another batch of Halloween things again.
  23. I shop almost exclusively at big/high quality (plus the usual few Friday/weekend ones) events for a long while now, a little bit at in-world stores for the releases that I might have missed earlier, and almost none at the MP. I do agree, however, that there's too many events, especially all those low quality/tier ones filled with mostly garbage, lots of them have tons of retextured FP stuff. Thankfully there are sites like seraphim, so checking new releases on events is rather easy before even going there, and gets even easier if you follow your favorite creators on flickr. MP I just dislike and rarely use these days. It lacks some basic features, and most importantly some stores/creators completely. The latter is up to the creator, but a number of my favorite ones either have absolutely nothing listed at the MP or outdated by 1-2 years at best. Basic MP feature example: the black list. Similar to favorites stores list LL added a few years ago, but instead listings from stores you'd add to that list wouldn't show up. There's a large number of "creators" who continue to spam keywords or mass release some rebundled FP stuff in 100 versions making a simple search a pain. Boolean options don't help much against that, especially if it's more than a few stores that do that, which is usually the case.
  24. Would be interesting to find out indeed. My only guess is their messy 4 layers system. Just "being heavy on triangles/vertices" (which it is) is not enough to trigger it, belleza and kupra bodies which are about as heavy are totally fine. It's not the rigged mesh having just a few triangles for the lowest/low lods either, otherwise everything would break the same way. I'll probably poke their support later so they can check by themselves and perhaps prepare the update if it'll be required by the time this viewer gets closer to the RC status.
  25. Athletic is more muscular and doesn't fit some clothing made for normal legacy. --- And not much to add to what already said, although it's always the matter of personal preferences and also activities. If someone wears suits and/or casual clothes most of the time, then bodies do get somewhat close as clothing not always follows body's traits and shape, and some need alpha cuts or alpha layer to fit at all. Toned down Gianni in suit and Jake in suit are pretty close look wise, but for clothing and times when body is more visible it's another story. I don't have any male avatars, so it's just a side opinion, but out of the big 3 I like Legacy the most (despite all that history behind the TMP and more). Gianni is too bulky, and I never liked bubble butts on Belleza bodies, which Jake also has. I wouldn't worry about web server part of tmp too much either. I've seen it going down for a bit, and the only part which stops working is the web part itself (one that requires media), tabs with alpha cuts and feet/hands poses and neck sizes don't need web server or media to work. Backup of an unpacked body with BoM activated (which requires web tab on their hud) is a good idea, though. Don't get me wrong, it shouldn't be a thing to begin with, and company behind the bodies had a lot of bad history in the past and far from perfect now. For example dev kit for hands is still broken and the promised updated one is in the making for like a year+, and they never released dev kit for the nail appliers, so it's either a few provided colors or 3rd party mesh nails unlike maitreya/omega nail appliers. And it took them forever to drop ridiculous requirements about obtaining their kits. But, eh, there's plenty content in SL that would either break completely or will have reduced functionality if creators stop supporting it. CasperSafe orb would be a good example. Stats, visitors tracking and logs are only available via casperpanel, so if it ever goes down temporarily or forever, then while orb will continue to work it won't have those functions. But such potential downside is not much compared to its upsides.
